    Brad is always awesome to listen to on a podcast, now being an owner he is in the middle of everything in NASCAR, he’s smart he’s very analytical, and he knows the sport inside and out and he’s not afraid to talk about it, thanks Kenny for another great podcast and good luck to Brad and RFK

    As a "business" guy, it is super cool to hear various drivers that 20 years ago I thought were just "drivers" really speak to the business side of NASCAR. Folks like Brad, Denny, KFB, Amy Earnhardt, and others all feel very close to the pulse of the business, and all speak very intelligently about the business. It's just cool to see the transformation happen.
    Also, one of the first things you do in your first business class is to go make a SWOT analysis. Literally one of the first things you learn, and they can be very eye opening. Whats even cooler is that a lot of real SWOT analysis are available online and you can go see them for yourself.

    I'm 27 and have been a life long fan. I went through the late 2000's- mid 2010's lull when it was boring as all get out. NASCAR has done a very good job of earning fans back to the people that watch, understand, and have someone to root for. This is the best racing has been in a while and I willingly say that to people that "used to" be fans and haven't watched it because it was "soft". I am truthfully excited week in and week out.

    Now that Shane van Gisbergen has exposed NASCAR-only fans (that doesn't sound right) to SuperCar guys ..... I LOVE the Super Cars - their sound, their agility, their speed. Sure would love for NASCAR cars to sound and perform like SuperCar.

    I stream Flo. It's~ $150 a year. For me it's well worth it. This time of year there is something I want to watch at least four days a week. I like dirt Late Models, USAC open wheel, All Stars and High Limit sprinters and in the winter you get Chili Bowl and a bunch of stuff from Australia and NZ. The events available that I might be interested in watching number in the hundreds. It's been 30 or so years since I had a TV. Never wanted to watch anything bad enough to pay for cable. For NASCAR I watch the highlights on RUclips. Maybe I listen to PRN or MRN.

    I think it was back in the mid to late 1990's but could be off a few years. Bristol (mostly night) races were exciting and A LOT OF FUN to watch on TV - drivers were constantly wrecking (but not getting hurt), all the drivers were mad at each other, they could barely go a lap without wrecking - it was 'sitting on the edge of your chair' fun to watch wondering what was going to happen next. The seats at Bristol were so full of fans that not one more person would fit in there. Those Bristol races back then were what people watched Nascar racing for. Nascar needs to capture that 'excitement' to get more fans. And I compare that to the Nashville race a few weeks ago that was the MOST boring race I have ever seen, which Nascar needs to get away from.

    I don’t think older fans are dying off, NASCAR is pushing us out! Hey, we know it’s all about the money. That’s life the question is, us older fans have been fans for decades, our kids and Grandkids, great grandchildren have grown up with it Nascar. NASCAR gained decades of fans this way. Take this out of the equation going forward, doesn’t seem great for NASCAR making new generational fans.

    All NASCAR races should be streamed but not exclusively at the expense of regular TV, as you want to have the maximum viewership possible for sponsors and to grow the sport. Similar to how the PGA Tour has all of its main regular season (Jan to Sept) tournaments on cable the first 2 days, on broadcast TV (CBS/NBC) on the weekends and ESPN+ for streaming (with different coverage than the TV networks). For NASCAR, there should be a regular TV option (even a tape delayed version, showing last half of races live similar to IMSA, simulcast on the CW since they're into sports and would get better ratings than LIV golf, etc.). Viewership will go down for sure compared to being on TV and sponsors would not pay as much if at all to have races viewed by only thousands of people. Recently NASCAR's been at the top of the ratings the past couple of weeks as Chicago was unique and close to prime time + Nashville & Atlanta were prime time Sunday night, with suggestions that more races that can be aired on Sunday night during the summer (looking at Richmond in particular since they have lights). So why ruin a good thing by excluding viewers, and would Chicago really be carved out for a hypothetical streaming only package despite its high ratings?? Also, broadcast TV/cable quality is better than streaming over the internet for live sports, and many still don't have high speed internet to stream and/or use satellite TV.

  • @ralphwatten2426
    @ralphwatten2426 Год назад +6

    Streaming is not TV money. TV money is advertising not pay per view. I don't pay for TV. The races that I've seen on a streaming service the broadcasting is sub par compared to what Speedvision was or CBS used to be or even ABC. The cars need to change from dump trucks to race cars. That would help. So I can pay for Mav TV, I can pay for XR tv, I can pay for Hunt the Front TV and all the rest. In order to watch racing it'll cost thousands of dollars a year. Not doing it. P.S. Pushrod engines?

    I beg NASCAR to never, ever, ever consider e-NASCAR. I heard one comment at Michigan once from a Gen-whatever fan say "the cars are too loud. I can't text".
    I would have loved for you to ask Brad his take on whether fans follow the driver or fans follow the brand.
    I wrote a survey many years ago to send out to track attendees that question (when Smoke was with Home Depot). The survey results was fans are loyal to the driver.

    In my opinion NASCAR for got who it’s fan base was. They got away from some of it’s small tracks and went to the cookie cutter tracks. The stage racing is terrible. NASCAR getting involved with politics “The Confederate flag” at Talladega. Pandering to minorities, Sponsors not being able to fund a team for a full year but now it may take multiple sponsors. All off this has taken a toll NASCAR viewership. One last point, my dad watched NASCAR, I watch NASCAR, my kids watch NASCAR. There is your loyal base. Great interview Herm👍👊🏁🇺🇸

    NASCAR has lost its way. They have consistently alienated their core fan base trying to attract new fans. They so desperately want to be a stick and ball sport. The playoffs are a COMPLETE disaster and its a broken system. What they fail miserably to realize is the core fan base next generation will be fans. If you run off your core base you lose that next generation. I'm a fan because my dad was a fan and he was a fan because his dad was a fan. Shrink your core base and it's hard to grow the sport for generations to come.

The continued punishments are ridiculous! This new car is not safe when drivers continue to get hurt with concussions and other injuries I hate to say it this car will kill someone! Fix the rules because This is why ratings and attendance is down! I never missed a race now I can barely watch. I always dvr races and would watch the whole race now I fast forward through the races. NASCAR racing has become boring and predictable just like the drivers. Take detailed record of accidents, have g-force meters and get rid of a few of the worst offenders through forced retirement.
