One of the best cutters of the ball of the back foot I’ve ever seen. He was different to Ponting and Sachin in a way that made you love everything about his style and flair. The pulling, the cutting, the drives, the footwork.
Don Bradman playing on uncovered pitches, using a toothpick for a bat, on larger grounds, 8-ball overs, unlimited bouncers, no fielding restrictions, crap protective equipment, no helmets....and yet still averaging 99.94 over a 20 year career and having to take years out from the game in his prime to serve during WWII, says hi...
At 1.15 Angus Fraser: He probably played half a dozen of the best 20 innings that ever been played. Well, that's the way he played he always took the game to the opposition and provided huge entertainment.
Thank you for this video. At the 3.01 mark, Kumar Sangakkara, with a besotted smile on his face, says, slowly...'You know, I've never seen any batsman... *that good*... really." What more?
Greatest batsman in World history A Word class player A true World champion A very humble Guy from Trinidad Brian Charles Lara ( W I ) always love to enjoys even opposition Team always appreciate this man. He deserves to be inducted into Hall of fame Thank you Brian Lara Respect from Pakistan
Brian Lara : 400 ( highest score test ) Greatest Test innings ( 153 Not out against the best Test team in 3 decades ) Most important: Brian Walks when he is out,, no other batsman does that.. Isn't that the best sportsmanship a batsman can show ?
I remember watching Brian in awe during the golden age. The only delivery that could actually beat Mr Lara, was Mr Lara's complacency. When he strolled up to the crease, bat under arm, you could feel the fear in the bowlers.
Sachin Tendulkar had Sehwag, Dravid, Azharuddin, Laxman, Ganguly. But Brian Lara had only by Chanderpaul and others were Rubbish. Brian Lara was One Man Army. Greatest Batsman in the last 30 Years Brian Charles Lara.
Brian Charles Lara........not only the most aesthetically pleasing batsman of the ninties and early 2000s, but certainly the most steely. Lara made runs under the kind of pressure in conditions that would make most men cry and grovel in defeat.
I am an Indian and i say Lara is the Goat of Test Cricket in Lara/Sachin Era and Sachin is the Goat of ODI in Lara/Sachin Era, Tendulkar is clearly next to Lara in Test cricket but not above Lara, but Lara is not near when compared to Sachin in ODI in terms of performance but will definitely stand in Top 5 , But it's a Bliss to eyes and ears to see Lara playing with his Genius ability, When Lara calls it as his day the God will go to sleep on Lara's day 😂😂 👍👍👍
Prince,I am your adherent. Growing up in the Nineties I was,am and will have been your humble adherent from India but my favorite is the Mastero Sunny Gavaskar but it is the Charismatic Imran who rules my heart.
In case of most great batsmen, the reaction of bowlers after dismissing them is "Great, now we're taking this game away from them". But on dismissing Lara, their reaction surely must've been "DAMN, I was enjoying watching him bat".
Scored 375 with all the style and glory of a prince… then another champion broke that huge score one day… like the true prince he was, came back and broke that record again and scored a mighty 400 and sealed the record books again… is there a better legend in test cricket history?
@Dhaanush L Bruh if you see all of their videos then you'll notice that many people are from England and Australia from a time when tests between nations had just started being played and cricket was not as prominent as it is today. Those people are in this 'hall of fame' not because they are as good as say, Lara or Muralidharan, but because they were born at the right place to play cricket at the right time.
Overated , they aren'y overrated , it's not the no.of teams they played , how best they played , there are so many men but only some only inducted , that time They not played for money like present , they are poor even after playing Cricket , it's the Golden Era , even nowadays they get 60 wickets in 30 , that days they got for 15 -16 matches and Batsman then without Protective Gears , Helmets , DRS , Smaller Boundaries , Great Equippment , no limits for Bouncers and no limits for field setting but they played well , they Invented Shots and some Bolwing , Just say u don't know them and not a Cricket Fan and Once head their Biographies and Critic views before commenting
