We loved this video!!! Loved seeing what was happening when we weren't together! So happy that we got to spend so much time together...sorry Mr. Lemon shared his "luck" with you guys 😂Safe travels through Baja...wish we were coming with you guys!
Having a year & 7 mo's under our belt with a Thor, we too can relate to the stress & anxieties which also puts a strain on your relations. Thank goodness in your case you have the abilities to understand & work thru the mechanical and electical challenges. Bottom line...With knowledge, patience, persistence, love and Faith you will prevail. Hang in there guys. All said and done Im sure like us, your still enjoying the adventures. ✌️🤟
Hey guys, love to see you’re heading back to Baja. We’re heading down for about four weeks the middle of March so the timing of your videos is wonderful! We have been Vanning for about 3 years now and have always used peat moss in our composting toilet. Home Depot sells a 3 cu. ft. bag for about $13 and it lasts use about a year. We just fill a few gallon ziplock bags for each trip and you don’t have to mess with adding any moisture like you do with the coconut blocks. Any way it works great and is very simple. Good luck with all your adventures, your awesome!
Wow! You guys are going thru it , while keeping good spirits, amazing! And lucky to be near the Vancaskeys who opened their home to you. They’re awesome people! Glad things are repaired and good luck on the rest of your journey. Also, Wyatt IS the cutest baby ever! 😀
Traveling and having issues is no fun. It will make everyone testy. Glad you have the skill and patience to DIY or this would have been a fortune. Good luck and have fun!
"One of the coldest winter days was one rainy summer day I spent in Tucson, Arizona!" 🤣 Has it been "tres anos" since your last visit south of the border? 😱 btw... we are getting married this May in San Jose del Cabo. The venue is Los Tomarindos. It's a farm to table outdoor venue with Mayan charm. Located just down the road from Flora Farms! IT'S ENDLESS SUMMER TIME FOR THE MATHERS! 🏄 VIVA BAJA! VIVA MEXICO! ☀🌵😎
Haha I guess Arizona doesn’t have perfect weather all the time after all! That’s awesome that you’re getting married down here! I had heard there is another farm to table restaurant similar to flora farms, hopefully we can check that one out too!!
I'm watching this vid hoping my flatmount Starlink doesn't get moisture in it too!! The flatmount bracket there looks pretty good. Hopefully it's strong enough to hold the Starlink there.
You’d be better prepared if you get the dual alternator kit. Then feed the output from the alternator to a DC-DC converter, you could easily charge the batteries at 100A, have a remote start set up to make it convenient.
@@MathersOnTheMap it’s not that the alternator will get overloaded, it’s that if the battery bank BMS suddenly turns off while under a heavy load the effect on the alternator can damage/destroy the diodes, if you have a dc dc converter it should protect the alternator.
Wow, life on the road in close quarters. It will all be better when you catch some waves and get some vitamin d. So much craziness over there. Cool new mount. What nice peeps! Very kind, I get excited when I have to convert money. We are going do get some Isk soon for Iceland. Safe travels fam. 🍺🫸✋😎😯🫣🤙
Haha amen to that! Can’t wait to get to the beach and catch some waves! Bob and Hilary are the best! Enjoy Iceland! It is a beautiful country with so much to see. You’re gonna have an amazing time!
@@MathersOnTheMap thanks it has been a bucket list item for me. Growing up on long island it was mostly beach environments. We will be doing the ring road so new hotels every day. Lots of hot springs scheduled and hopefully I will get to see some northern lights. I am shooting for a video a day like i did in greece.
Those Starlink connectors are crap, they do not seal. I have the same enclosure you have, I also have it hard mounted to the roof in my RV. What I did was ditch the connector that starmounts used, they just took if from the original Starlink assembly. I hard wired the cable to the dish, I then filled in the hole where the cable enters the enclosure. I’ve had it this way for over a year with no issues. Starlink themselves have ditched those connectors as well, the new generation dishes come with Ethernet connectors.
I empathize with you guys. I am alone , and I cannot imagine with family/baby in tow. I just crossed the border at Mexicali today a little after dark. Crossing in the dark is not what you want to do, but once I was done with all the details I just wanted to get on the road. Tomorrow will be long drive day. Anxious to put my feet in the water at Cerritos Beach .
Wow crossing at night! You’re braver than we are. I’m sure all is good but crossing/driving at night makes us a little nervous. Not to mention with the little guy it’s just not possible either way haha! Safe travels! Enjoy Cerritos!
Van made gear on the window covers. Made in the USA. Portland. They are great. They just don't make all of the ones for tellaro. We have the scope, yes the one you were making fun of, and got the cab window covers, the sliding door, and rear doors. They are wonderful. The factory valences? have been removed and put with that stupid table in the junk pile. Thankfully I'm not vertically challenged and can sleep quite comfortably on the bed Bob doesn't fit in. There is a reason they have different floorplans Bob!! You need to build your own. Would avoid Thor because of their lousy build quality. Everything neat is crazy expensive.
Check out Trioflatmount may be a better option (I haven’t seen their Gen 2 flat mount personally though) if you already bought starmount maybe put silicone or something to make it water tight?
@@MathersOnTheMap Thanks, I'll check it out. I was planning to use the Everlanders design as you don't need to cut into the sealed part for that, just the motors for the base. More research needed first I reckon.
Thanks for the reply! Sorry if I’m being obtuse but the starlink website doesn’t reference generations- is it the standard, the standard or the flat high performance?
We want to go to Baja but we are concerned about safety. What is your advice to us in this matter? Clearly, if u are going to travel with the baby, u must think it’s a safe journey. Should we head south?

Well now we're Vancaskey followers too

Great video; excited to see your adventures in Baja. I know I say it all the time, but Wyatt is really the cutest baby ever!!! 😍👶🏻
Thank you Sarah!!! 🥰 we’d agree but we may be a little biased 🙃

Thank youu John!! 🤍
Lol, " just make the coffee and zip it" ....
Great video as usual guys. Definitely our favorite travel family.
Now we subscribed to the vancaskeys so you'll have some new competition, but Wyatt gives you and edge 😉
Haha thank you!!! We appreciate it 🙌🏻
The RV is so beautiful and the baby is so cute and protect
Thank you so much for sharing about the troubles with starlink v2. This will save us so much time if we skip directly to v3 🙇
New to your channel. Look forwards to catching up hung up on your Baja trip and watching some of your Canada trip.

I don’t think you even need a dc to dc with the nations alternator!! Thing is a beast but it’s $2500+

Maybe grab a portable Honda like generator for times like that...

Took the plunge. Crossing at Mexicali tomorrow. You both are an inspiration. ¡Gracias!
Can you make a T-shirt that says “make the coffee and zip it”
Haha that would be a good one! 👍🏼
❤❤❤
Dude, you don’t have a bucket in your van? Cmon…. And you have a propane stove but no way to make coffee?
We use the keurig thing because she’s the only one who drinks coffee and only needs 1 cup a day
