I own a 2021 pro ii in dark night with a maple neck and its a GREAT guitar. It has probably my favourite position 4 on a strat. As a rule of thumb, I dont love the vmod ii pickups, but idk they seem to work great on mine and Im not interested in switching them out. Id put my pro ii up against a custom shop strat
@richardlucascronley5128 Actually, I even did not played it with maple neck/freatboard. Just grabbed the neck on wall stand, and did not like the neck shape. It was fat, although Fender maple necks are not (I have a few with maple neck). In genetal maple necks sound slightly softe.Barely hear the difference. But play feeling is difference. This one sounded great so I like it, but all in all my choice for Strat and Tele is maple neck. Maybe that difference in sound is more in playing feel than in resonance of different wood
@@richardlucascronley5128 probably not since its still a maple neck. They say maple is brighter but idk rosewood just looks way better always imo 95% of the time
After more than 2 years of abstinence, I went to the Music Station again and played 3 Fender American Professional II Strats, and again I noticed that the woods had little vibrancy, the maple necks were not very dense and responsive, there was little twang, little crunch , wiry-glassy, few overtones, sustain, attack, everything you associate with Fender guitars, everything is less than on my ESP 400 Series Strats and less than on my BLADE Texas models. This can be tested objectively and I can only say that I am extremely disappointed with this price-performance ratio. No, I can no longer objectively understand this adulation regarding Fender Strats. My first Stratocaster was a Fender American Standard Stratocaster and that was my worst guitar of all, a Fender Mexico Standard followed after that, but after I played the ESPs and the BLADEs everything was clear to me, and that proves itself again, every time, when I compare, the same result always comes out - what else can I say, it is true! The ESP-400-Series Strats and the BLADEs have objectively, noticeably and audibly better tonewood, the BLADEs even have a flattened neck-body-joint and covered fret slots and therefore much better playability!!! So, I'm done with Fender, I'm playing something clever, and at a much cheaper price. I don't want to talk anyone out of their love of Fender, I have nothing against you buying the (usually) worse guitars for a far too exorbitant price, you're welcome to do that. Then there will be more BLADEs for me, very simple! Thanks for listening!
I could not agree more. There is just something missing from these tones. With the plethora of better choices out there for less money I cannot justify spending this much on this guitar.
Thank you Jason, i´ll give you some advice: Try a used BLADE Texas Standard Pro (has a Midboost like the Fender Eric Clapton Signature Strat, flat neck-body-joint, so better playability in the higher positions, very good craftmannship and vibrancy and resonance) or an used ESP Vintage Plus Strat! You will not be disappointed!
I have a strat in this exact colour and neck combo. It is one of the BEST strats I have played, custom shop or not. My only complaint is that its a bit heavier than the custom shop stuff, which is usually light at like 6.5-7 ish lbs. Still a great playing and sounding strat. No complaints here
I tried one of these today. A truly magical and flawless instrument.

These pickups are incredibly good. I love them… definitive strat tone.
incredible playing
Great playing and nice overdrive. Salute.
This with a rosewood fretboard is my dream
And they exist! Best of luck chasing your dream guitar!
I got one year ago. By accident. I went to Vienna to pick my maple neck dark night, but actually bought rosewood. Now I am happy.
@@tihomir7did you notice a tone difference between the two

Wow. That sounds great!
This makes me want to take guitar lessons.
I'm not hearing anything new. What are your thoughts on the guitar? I do appreciate you giving away the licks though.

I switched to the PRS Silver Sky and never looked back!
Worst strat I have. Sold it. Terrible sound, don't worth money

Are you sure you didn’t buy yours off Temu with “Fender” written in sharpie?..
I buy one of this thanks
