That thread lasso is genius!!!!! Great tips for starting out quilting. Thanks for taking the time to share them with us. Also I just love your colour choices for your quilts.
I love the clean lines of stitch in the ditch and use it most of the time. I've practiced a little FMQ and let's just say I need a whole lot more practice before I would commit to doing it on a beautiful panel. I think that's the fun thing about quilting. The learning and improving on technique never stops. It's the perfect hobby, because who could ever master it all? And the design possibilities are endless.
@@conqueringmountscrapmorewi2509 Oh my gosh Brenda! My pleasure. I love connecting with other creators on the platform! You're so informative in your teaching style!

Sewn my entire life so I thought I knew it all until I started quilting a year ago. That thread lasso is a great new trick. Why do you need to bury those perimeter threads that will be buried in the binding? I start sewing off on the batting and everything cuts trimmed off so?? I really enjoy your videos thank you.
Hi Terry! You really don't have to bury those perimeter threads because they end up in the seam allowance of the binding however, if you are just starting out, you need to get into the habit of bringing your thread up at the beginning to avoid a thread nest on the back and than bury your threads so it can't be seen. Beginners need to establish good habits. Thanks for asking this question!
I love your lasso idea! I've been sewing and quilting for years and find zizagging over the ditch is much faster and has less need to be 100% accurate to look good. Keep the seam line inside the width of the stitch. Lengthen the zigzag so it's not too tight. On my machine I use a 3 length and 3 width. Try it sometime! Jo

Hi Faith! I'm glad you liked this video. It is one of my favorite ways to quilt because it is hidden and the fabric does all the talking. I hope you have a fabulous week ahead! Thank you for watching and your kind words mean so much to us here.
Thank you 🙏🏾 for sharing. I love your backing I think I may have tell you on your other video. Where did you get it and oh my God I will be using your method on burning my threads thank you again I hope you’re having a blessed evening God bless you and your family
I loved that fabric too but it has sat in my fabric stash for so long that I can't even remember where I found it! My grandmother taught me the thread lasso trick and it is so fast! I hope god blesses and keeps you and your family safe from harm. PS: I hope you saw the note I left on your channel!

Thank you!! There were some great tips in your video! I love your confidence! I was wondering what stitch length to use for the stitch in the ditch method. Also, is there no need to pin the whole quilt because you went around the whole quilt with the stay stitch? Or do you still pin?
Hello Andrea! I'm happy that you liked our video. I use 8 to 10 stitches per inch. I believe I did pin this quilt but the pins were spaced about a hand width apart (about 4 inches) from each other. The Psychedelic Snowflake quilt video will drop at the first of the month and it is going to be a free sew along. I hope you have a blissful week ahead!
