  • In this video, I review the Saturn Kaboat FKB430. Ive used many many boats to move heavy prospecting gear up and down the shallow rocky rivers of Virginia, from jon boats to scanoes, to catarafts and now Kaboats. And I must say the Kaboat FKB430 is able to haul the most while drafting the least. When coupled with an 8hp mud motor it can haul heavy loads up and down some of the shallowest rivers.
The Saturn FKB430 can be found here for purchase here: www.avantlink....

Saturn boats are solid. I've had the FCB290 for a couple of years and it's tough as nails...I take it out on calm water to fish spots my larger boat can't get into. I've run it over rocks, sticks, just about everything and it's never punctured nor failed me. For an inflatable that uses 1100 Denier PVC with heat-welded seams (same materials/specs of inflatable brands that cost 2-3x as much), they're a great deal.

Talking about your bag tearing, I wonder how a couple of ratchet straps around the bag would work as carrying handles? One can always use a Couple of straps on ventures . 😁

Great review. Lots of specifics that are difficult to identify without someone pointing them out first hand.

Excellent review. Could you please review the Mud Motors type/ performance with a inflatable boat.

I would but I really don’t have access to many mud motor to make it a good comparison. Onn fkb430 6.5 hp or less with a mud motor will not put it on plane. It needs at least an 8hp mud motor to get it up on plane.

Thank You for your response. The problem I'm having with a 8 hp mud motor is weight/ portable and transom weight limit. A Harbor freight 6.6 HP predator motor plus a performance kit if needed, might be good fit.

What boat do have? This particular one is rated for up to 15hp. But yes a 6.6 that is modded to give you more horsepower should work. My buddy has one that is modded to 12 hp. If I get a chance in the future to run his motor and few other I may try to shoot a comparison video.

I have a Typhoon 420. I think the transom capacity is 125 lbs. Approximately 6.6 HP Mudd motor 82 lbs, 8 hp 119 lbs and 15.8 HP 141 lbs. Your boat has 10 hp 4 stroke /15hp 2 stroke but doesn't say transom weight capacity on Ka Boats.

Specs look too wide to load in a load truck bed fully inflated for transit. Could you deflate the floor and partially deflate the pontoons while maintaining enough structure to load it in a truck on a bed extender?
