And if they had bright orange shades or something more bold and off-beat, then I definitely would have been all in. I bought some of the Avatar collection and I felt like this was like a bad repeat of that. Like I already had this stuff and there was nothing new or well thought-out about this :(
As someone who watched some Naruto (but eventually dropped it) back in the day, just from what I know from like the first 10 episodes, I think this collab collection was a huge MISSED opportunity. Yes, while Colourpop probably had limited copyrights to the original source materials, 8 to 10 NEUTRAL eyeshadows and ONLY like 6 pops of colours (but no orange when the main character literally wears orange) does not scream "Naruto" for me.
So as a Naruto fan and someone who used to stan Colourpop hard, here are my personal thoughts. The collection isn’t awful. Is it great? Also no. They’re definitely lacking a nice, vibrant, matte orange. Your swatch of the Super Shock for Naruto really took me off guard. I’ve seen others swatch it and it pulls a little more orange. I feel like this has something to do with them using the tie dye formula. It’s going to vary because of this. I think most fans are disappointed in the collection because it’s lacking more of the characters, which I feel too. But I also know Colourpop is only allowed access to the rights of certain characters so Kakashi, Gaara, Percy Sage, Killer Bee, Hinata and so many of the others who are important were never going to be included sadly. Given what the show and characters mean to us Naruto fans, that’s triggering. As for Colourpop themselves, I feel like they’ll come up with cool packaging that they know the fans are going to LOVE and they just throw whatever products and shades they want in there with hardly any thought given. They know we’ll buy it anyway for collection purposes and that’s crappy of them. I hate it. I wish they would go back to their roots and really put thought into their products as a whole. Will I still be buying this collection? Yes because I freaking love Naruto, I love makeup and I’m a sucker fish. 😩
Big fan of Naruto, got the palette just as a collection, but seeing the swatches now i kinda of regret getting it. I wonder why quality speaking they didn’t even try :( at least compared to the avatar pallet :(
I agree on the missed opportunity with the orange. Naruto is literally inhabited by a demon fox and he wears orange pretty much all the time, so WHY would they not go full sunset with pops of blue and pink on this palette and extra bits?

I am a fan of both Colourpop and Naruto. I watched Naruto with my 8 year old son. My daughter watched Naruto a few years ago also. I bought the entire collection. I think it's pretty in the pictures. I have not received it yet in the mail. The color story seems vaguely representative of the show and some of the characters.
I love Naruto. I think there was a lot of misses here. However, I also see that they have to think of getting everyone to buy it. Including people who aren't into bright colors. The biggest let down is the lack of orange. Naruto wears a bright orange jumpsuit lol they could've thrown any orange shade from the Orange you glad palette and it would've been beautiful. I bought the palette, I plan on switching out a few shades to make it more inspired. The packaging is amazing though.
Bought every manga volume for 10 yrs, cried and laughed my heart out at the anime..until the disastrous final story arc 😂 i ragequit it 😂 It took me seeing "Hidden Sand Village" to understand them naming the glitter gel "Gold Dust" (Gaara's abusive father's attack). Huge missed opportunity to go with "Yellow Flash" (Naruto's dad's epithet). The palette just looks like an Ulta-collab (neutrals + some toned-down colors). I woulda approached it differently. A mini trio in the palette for each char, just hair eye clothes main colours = bright saturated 9 pan in the middle of the palette, add some grungier neutrals to satisfy the mainstream. The Jonin and Byakugan shades actl make sense and are well-named, but the rest of the neutrals are just neutrals with random Naruto terms slapped on.
Naruto has a orange theme sakura has her pink theme and Sasuke has his blue. I understand why each package is its color because it's to the character. I honestly think they should of done a orange line for naruto not gold. But it is what it is. But the packaging does match the show pretty dang well.
Naruto is my first ever anime - my childhood first crush and while many aren’t satisfied with it, I really like this collection. Sure, it’s not super accurate color wise but I’m fine with it since I get tired of the overly bright colours.
I like the look of the lip oil but the rest seems redundant to some of their previous releases. And this is an anime show - it needs a lot of crazy color!
I had no idea what Naruto was when I saw the preview so I have no attachment at all to this collab. I ordered the super shocks and the lip oil but I felt like the palette was underwhelming. Did you happen to compare it to the Back to Hogwarts palette? Just wondered how close that one might be to this palette.
as a biiiggg bigbig naruto stan, i'm disappointed in this collection. i was super excited when i heard they were doing this collab but then after seeing the teasers it was just... meh. from a personal standpoint, i wish they had gone more shippuden style than the beginning but maybe that leaves it up for a part two. you're right in that it's lacking the bright orange that is symbolic throughout the show. i was expecting blue and orange, and then a ton of green (konoha = leaf village for those who don't know or watch). i'm mostly disappointed in the last two columns in the palette and i wish they hadn't just gone for the default blue, pink, orange of team 7's clothes. i had gone from my brain going "buy everything!" to well, maybe i'll get the lip oil if it's in stock at ulta the next time i go. sad.
It's disappointing and lackluster. Naruto is a very brightly colored show. They played too safe with this. Naruto's signature colors are bright orange, bright yellow and blue, Sasuke's black, darker blue and rich crimson of his Sharingan, plus cherry red of Sakura with bubblegum pink and teal-ish green, and they could have thrown in silver for Kakashi.
As a fan, I can confirm that the collection is actually very on theme. The only part that has orange is naruto; The rest of the show is pretty earth tone and grungy like the pallet. That said, the packaging isn't as nice as other collabs in my opinion. As merchandise, I want the collection; But, i'm not getting it as i seldom use many of the products in the collection. Those super shocks look great though.
Avatar looks more Naruto then this one... it´s how bad the colour selection was. A Naruto collection without a true orange and a true red is just absurd. I was really hyped when i saw the package, but then i saw that palette and color selection and changed my mind completely .

This collab is for me one of the most desapointing collabs Colourpop ever made, even the HP collab seems great next to this... and, furthemore, the quality seems to be not here ☹️ They did a great job on Starwars, but, even if the packaging is nice, it seems that the makeup design team is not familiar at all with the universe of Naruto.They just put colors to match with the 3 illustrations they had without searching to know anithing else. Sad 😥
This collection is disappointing. Slapping pictures on isn't enough. Naruto has many rich colours. The minimum would have been: Orange, dark blue, pink, red, yellow, a forest green, an army green, white or silver and black.

Agreed a lot of the color choices don’t make sense. I still got the pallet because I love the series but they missed the mark on the color selection

Wow, this is super underwhelming. Agreed, there should have been bolder orange shades, this was a big miss for ColorPop.
