I was suicidal before. Every time I failed on something my mind would think of one way out : suicide. Until I read Dr Weiss book and he wrote about the lessons that our soul needs to learn. If we don't learn them cause we are so weak, so exhausted and we want to give up breathing, the soul still carries on the unfinished lessons to the next lives. I absolutely agree with you Dr. Weiss.my father passed 13 years ago from a suicide. He was very very sick. A week after his passing , I dreamed of him. He came to visit me. It felt so real that I know for sure that it wasn't a regular dream. He asked a few practical questions about our family members, and he told me he in fact did regret his choice and I cried and told him that it's okay, I will see him again. Also, He wasn't sick anymore. Til this day, I still can remember like it was yesterday. Thanks for sharing your video.
My Father died in late 2003. Hard to believe its been that long however I never see his face or close-ups of him. Hes always sort of on the perimeter of the dream. I find that really weird. I too have been visited in a dream by a friend who passed on and by my grandfather. They were both incredible short dreams like it was really them and they came to me to smile and say hello. Both of these dreams have given me hope and comfort. About suicide, I suspect my Father did too.....I'll never know the truth however I don't think suicide or assisted suicide is wrong. It just depends on the situation. My biggest fear is dying alone and I ponder suicide a lot myself which I guess is why I clicked on this video.

Man, that goes right along w/the quote, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." But, I heard there's a distinguishment between soul mates and life mates, but if life mates are soul mates, it must just be regarding a certain period of time.

I doubt very much whether Dr Weiss ever comes back to the videos he's posted to read the comments on them, so I doubt that he'll read this. But regarding learning lessons in this life, I'm a 69 years old man now and the lessons I've learned have all been negative, not positive. Such as there are no such things as friends, only people who pretend to be friends. There is no such thing as returned love, It only exists in books and films and, above all, to trust absolutely no one but myself, not even God, and to learn how to be alone. Now I ask you, what on earth is the point of learning lessons such as that? I have also noticed that with my having no family or friends and therefore nobody who cares about me, I have naturally become very, very self-centred. I come first and everyone else comes last. I didn't start out that way, but that's the way I've become.
+darrenburnfan I think the lesson for this life is to learn to find love, peace and joy within us. We shouldn't depend on others for our joy. I have the same life as you described. Exactly same. my friends cheated me and my parents left me. My partner betrayed me. I wept and wept all my life. Finally after reading Dr. Brian Weiss's books, I understood that my lesson for this life is to find love, peace and joy within myself. I started loving myself rather than expecting others to love me. I started understanding myself rather than expecting others to understand me. We come to this world alone and we leave this world alone. We can live alone. But I'm not saying we should become anti social, I'm just saying we must love ourselves to let go of negative things or people and we should be ready to face the situations as it comes. The moment we start appreciating what we have - we can really enjoy life.
+Hannah Hannah I wouldn't know how to love myself. It seems like a contradiction in terms, like having to volunteer. I somehow can't see myself stood in front of a mirror saying: "Oh, how I love me!" Human beings are not meant to be alone. It's unnatural for us. We all need love and the companionship of someone we love or life isn't life, just a pointless existence. If you don't have anyone to love and to love you, it acts just like a flower that isn't watered and cared for. It may take a time, but eventually, we will wither away and die. Nothing Dr Weiss can say in any of his books can change that fact of life.

@Aingell I think you are looking in a wrong way so... perhaps your are looking too much and you are forgetting to feel your surroundings first. This guy as you call him, Dr. Weiss is so spot on, but you will only know that when a number of different things occurred in your life.. Stop looking and start feeling, meditate a lot, i think you will need that, so many channels will start opening for you and once Angels start helping you, answers will come to you. Dr. Weiss, thank you for your beautiful work. I have done your regression on youtube and as soon as I started counting down to the garden, I felt I was hit very hard on the right side of my head. Coincidently, I do have migraines quite frequently always on right side. I would appreciate if you could show me a path, possibly through more meditation, that I should follow as next steps. How do we know that suicide, or as I prefer to name it 'self sacrifice', is not a part of an individuals soul learning/growth plan? If we do incarnate via reincarnation, and it is all about learning and growing as a soul, then self sacrifice would, and indeed does make sense. I think 'problems' may arise when a soul has accumulated successive self sacrifices. It is nobodies right to judge someone whom is suffering, physically, emotionally, mentally, psychologically, as regards terminating their existence, for, through all the suffering, that is what it has sadly and tragically become, an existence as opposed to a life.
This is an interesant message of Dr. Brian Weiss that explains for all romantic people, that the idea of perpetual flame we called soulmate or twin souls have a purpose far beyond the fairy tail, of the "they lived happily ever after...", this purpose is the learning.
Hello Dr. Brian... I would like to ask you something which has been disturbing me since the past 5 years and I cannot let go. One young gentleman came into my life as my daughter's fiance. I began treating him and loving him like my son. Although their relationship didnt work out, I cannot let go of him. I still miss him terribly and wish that he comes back into our lives and I also wish that he marries my daughter. I have tried EFT, hypnotherapy, meditations etc. but I cannot let go. Thks.

Hello Dr. Weiss, I hope all is well. I just wanted to tell you about a dream I had of you the other night. I think you were an architype of what I hope to become in my life. The dream began with me sitting in a house with a sunken in living room. The house was dimly light and it felt relaxing. A shorter woman with shoulder length blond/light red hair approached me and said not to worry. She might have been upset that I was there but still did her best to make me feel welcome.

What can we do, when the lessons on this bootcamp planet make us really sick and we cannot go ahead due to depression and darkness, maybe the influence of a dark energy, that keeps us from unfolding our potentials so we cannot go on on our path?
Good question. I feel Dr Weiss' interpretation on _forgiveable suicides_ as it were, lacks compassion in the worst way. It's so easy to say "Don't be weak...soldier on...you'll only cop for it in the next lifetime" But the fact is when all your stocks of energy are gone - they're gone. Sometimes you've got no fight left in you. People who claim to have experienced depression and have come out the other side have rarely suffered sustained, crippling clinical depression lasting decades. Sometimes you've exhausted plan A to Z. You've tried every medication under the sun. You've tried meditation, prayer etc. The fact is if we're here to learn a lesson from a debilitating awful somatic illness such as terminal cancer, then by Dr Weiss' logic, we're here to the bitter end - until "God" wants to take us. If we curtail it then we haven't learned the whole lesson. If we commit suicide due to depression related illness then we're here till the bitter end - the same philosophy should apply. Either way - we're playing God. Dr Weiss, however benign and sensitive he appears to be - is in fact being judgemental as to depressive illnesses or even those associated with "shame based" suicides. I'd argue that killing yourself is such a desperate, not to mention painful, death that the level of despair or even shame one must feel to want to "off" yourself constitutes the life lesson in itself. You've already experienced the very worst life has to offer. When I want to go - I'll go. I've been there. None of us is an angel, but if you haven't been a sadistic person and have not actively gone out of your way to hurt others in your lifetime - and if you've tried over decades to find peace in this world. If you've exhausted plan A to Z , then no God who would punish you for ending your life by sending you back for more of the same is worth your time. I don't believe suicides are punished by being _sent back for more of the same._
Do not focus on dark energy this is very important, because your energy flows exactly where your attention goes... ask yourself what you want to nourish in your life... but regarding the question about depression, I was stuck in depression for two decades, it did not even make sense to me anymore to think about suicide, because this did not even feel like a solution anymore (you have to at least be convinced that suicide would alter anything, but if even this hope is gone... well there is not much left)... I decided to walk the path to be courageous enough to see my pain, to live through it again and again and slowly in nine years time removed thin thin layers by layers... Now I am not yet standing in the light, but I see now that my depression was the pain I could never feel before, all the sadness and with it also anger stuffed up with no one who was willing to connect to me... But in the end this forced me to dig deeper and deeper into my soul to find out that I myself as a soul being are pure love anyway and I do not need anybody else to feed me pieces of love to survive, because it is there in me already. Don`t search outside, have the courage to take the steep walk inside, it is worth every step, believe me!
Actually, I do not feel the same way... Brian Weiss` interpretation is more a way to make you understand that the lessons will come anyway... When I was 24 I had a near death experience and after that I realized that even if I do give up my life (and do enjoy the rest on the other side) I will come back with the exact emotional state and will have to resolve this state by looking to the inside anyways... It is for sure not about punishment, please don`t feel this way, there is no god that judges you and commiting suicide won`t make you a bad person or a good one, but just imagine you have to go through all the drama again because your emotional state stays the same, when you come back to earth. I do exactly know how you feel, because I have been there as well... not only once, but believe me you are so beautiful from the inside and the burden that is put on your shoulder and all the pain and sadness connected to it can not be removed by anyone else but only by you. Please do find the courage to walk the path to you own inside... be courageous enough to look carefully at your own pain and slowly release it with tears... this gives you the chance to get in touch with your own beautiful light... Choosing suicide just makes the world a more sad place and please ask yourself the question: Whom are you trying to be easy on so you do not allow yourself to be sad or angry?

why would an ageless (and I presume omniscient) being want to experience ANYTHING AT ALL since they already know (as they're omniscient) what it's (going to be/been) like? I don't understand it.
In hindu understanding its a 'maya' or illusion , the divine play that the ultimate cosmic being (of which we are all individual fractals) experiences itself through multiple designed 'virtual realities'. Playing the game of forgetting and remembering again. It has never known anyone like Itself , and when It dreams the play begins and wakes up the play ends and everything starts again. Yes the ultimate is omiscient, infinite, but we as fractals get to represent it in varying qualities in different proportion. We can all access the ultimate, but in this 'play' we assume roles, experience and learn to make aspect of 'self' conscious on behalf of the ultimate. Being vs making it conscious by shadow play, by contrast. Knowing vs expressing potential in various 'unknown' situations.

'Moksha' is simply liberation from the repeating cycles of this earthly game & karma, once you become conscious of your true self, you can no longer play the roles nor continue in unconscious mode. No one can tell you to not commit suicide in the same way no one sends you a check each week or calls to see how you are on a regular basis. Do not be moved by charlatans who say everything is light, love, etc. Anyone who has spent time alive knows this is not the case. This talk about "lessons to be learned" in also incongruent with someone telling you not to commit suicide. If lessons are to be learned and fate is fate, then there should not be ANY interference with someone who wants to commit suicide as this act alone provides numerous lessons to others who otherwise would not have experienced them. But few people really believe that suffering is good and that lessons must be learned. Even the people whom may say these things are doing so as a mean to sell books, gain views, and appear even uplifted or spiritually wise. No one invites suffering into their life. No one says "Dear God/Universe, please send the plague, war, and famine so that I may experience suffering. Amen. You know who prays like that? Nobody. The reality is you're trying to provide comfort in an uncomfortable place at the expense of others. You're ok with the suffering of others as long as it's the right group. Family, women, children, the elderly cannot be harmed or made to suffer but rather the men, the undesirables whom sitteth in the corner and endure because "lessons." Not buying.
Interestingly, Prof. Ian Stevenson from the University of Virginia, who did a lot of work on reincarnation, did not find evidence of any karma following people from life to life.

I never feel like committing suicide as anyways death is coming so I always give the life a chance to make me feel better best next moment... Hi Dr Weiss, I just wanted to say that this is such a great forum for learning and discussing unknown realms of our eternal existence. Do you think it is possible for individuals to retain significant pain from previous lives due to experiences not yet completed? I just mean that if a person encountered a major life trauma at some point in time, maybe their soul chose to wait a couple of lives down the line to revisit the event and complete their experience. If a soul is a powerful entity that knows a lot, why would a soul need to come here to learn? That has never made sense to me. Like what exactly are we learning for? Why does the soul need to “grow”? Why would my “soul” want to put me through this almost hellish existence?
There is a theory that earth is the only place in the universe where the beings have free will, because of free will there is so much to learn about how people navigate life with no boundaries. Idk if that makes sense to you but I found it kind of intriguing
Dr Weiss, I have had three miscarriages in my journey for a baby. A medium has explained that my spirit guides are watching over a cheeky baby boy, who is waiting to join me here on earth. Could the soul of the baby boy be the same soul that is being taken from me so quickly after conception? And if that is so, what is the reason? Is this my lesson?
The lesson, I would assume that you have to take better care of your body. Conception comes from being fertile and fertile comes from plant-based foods that induce minerals and vitamins into the body to create a for fertile body. Look into juicing. That's my theory anyway
^ that's not very good advice. actually I don't think there is any real "lesson." some women just can't have babies and it's not due to them doing anything wrong or not "taking care of their bodies." sometimes that is just the way it is. fact is, we are still biological beings in very human bodies and nature is nature....

About soulmates.. In a lifetime you have more than one relationship where in the beginnning you say things like, I always wanna be with you.. But the relationship doesn't work beacuse physical problems and a bit later you have a new relationship and you say the same things like, I always wanna be with you. I don't see any lessons learned. Humanity is internally the same as it has been for tens of thousands of years at least. Personally I'd put that religious ethical viewpoint on a side. What's left is the experience of life itself. With every terror and glamour it comes.

You suddenly appeared in the living room and said I was looking in the wrong direction. I'm not sure if this was metaphorical or literal because right after I looked to my left and saw my husband standing off to the side holding a laptop. I was upset because you had sent out an important e-mail that I some how missed regarding parapsychology. I then sat down on a black sectional couch after which you told me something else that I'm sure was relavant but unfortunately I cannot recall what it was.

Another question that I have is related to regression. I 'm quite sure that I had some, involuntarily, and they're more common in the last months, and, in some way, i know how to reach them, but I stop when I feel that I'm loosing control, and it's scaring...Does the fact of these regressions happening involuntarily means anything?Should I look for help to try to find out what it is?

I doubt very much whether Dr Weiss ever comes back to the videos he's posted to read the comments on them, so I doubt that he'll read this. But regarding learning lessons in this life, I'm a 69 years old man now and the lessons I've learned have all been negative, not positive. Such as there are no such things as friends, only people who pretend to be friends. There is no such thing as returned love, It only exists in books and films and, above all, to trust absolutely no one but myself, not even God, and to learn how to be alone. Now I ask you, what on earth is the point of learning lessons such as that? I have also noticed that with my having no family or friends and therefore nobody who cares about me, I have naturally become very, very self-centred. I come first and everyone else comes last. I didn't start out that way, but that's the way I've become.

I think the lesson for this life is to learn to find love, peace and joy within us. We shouldn't depend on others for our joy. I have the same life as you described. Exactly same. my friends cheated me and my parents left me. My partner betrayed me. I wept and wept all my life. Finally after reading Dr. Brian Weiss's books, I understood that my lesson for this life is to find love, peace and joy within myself. I started loving myself rather than expecting others to love me. I started understanding myself rather than expecting others to understand me.
We come to this world alone and we leave this world alone. We can live alone.
But I'm not saying we should become anti social, I'm just saying we must love ourselves to let go of negative things or people and we should be ready to face the situations as it comes. The moment we start appreciating what we have - we can really enjoy life.
+Hannah Hannah I wouldn't know how to love myself. It seems like a contradiction in terms, like having to volunteer. I somehow can't see myself stood in front of a mirror saying: "Oh, how I love me!" Human beings are not meant to be alone. It's unnatural for us. We all need love and the companionship of someone we love or life isn't life, just a pointless existence. If you don't have anyone to love and to love you, it acts just like a flower that isn't watered and cared for. It may take a time, but eventually, we will wither away and die. Nothing Dr Weiss can say in any of his books can change that fact of life.

Stop looking and start feeling, meditate a lot, i think you will need that, so many channels will start opening for you and once Angels start helping you, answers will come to you. How do we know that suicide, or as I prefer to name it 'self sacrifice', is not a part of an individuals soul learning/growth plan? If we do incarnate via reincarnation, and it is all about learning and growing as a soul, then self sacrifice would, and indeed does make sense. I think 'problems' may arise when a soul has accumulated successive self sacrifices. It is nobodies right to judge someone whom is suffering, physically, emotionally, mentally, psychologically, as regards terminating their existence, for, through all the suffering, that is what it has sadly and tragically become, an existence as opposed to a life.

Hello Dr. Brian... I would like to ask you something which has been disturbing me since the past 5 years and I cannot let go. One young gentleman came into my life as my daughter's fiance. I began treating him and loving him like my son. Although their relationship didnt work out, I cannot let go of him. The dream began with me sitting in a house with a sunken in living room. The house was dimly light and it felt relaxing. A shorter woman with shoulder length blond/light red hair approached me and said not to worry. She might have been upset that I was there but still did her best to make me feel welcome.

What can we do, when the lessons on this bootcamp planet make us really sick and we cannot go ahead due to depression and darkness, maybe the influence of a dark energy, that keeps us from unfolding our potentials so we cannot go on on our path?
Good question. I feel Dr Weiss' interpretation on _forgiveable suicides_ as it were, lacks compassion in the worst way. It's so easy to say "Don't be weak...soldier on...you'll only cop for it in the next lifetime" But the fact is when all your stocks of energy are gone - they're gone. Sometimes you've got no fight left in you. People who claim to have experienced depression and have come out the other side have rarely suffered sustained, crippling clinical depression lasting decades. Sometimes you've exhausted plan A to Z. You've tried every medication under the sun. You've tried meditation, prayer etc. The fact is if we're here to learn a lesson from a debilitating awful somatic illness such as terminal cancer, then by Dr Weiss' logic, we're here to the bitter end - until "God" wants to take us. If we curtail it then we haven't learned the whole lesson. If we commit suicide due to depression related illness then we're here till the bitter end - the same philosophy should apply. Either way - we're playing God. Dr Weiss, however benign and sensitive he appears to be - is in fact being judgemental as to depressive illnesses or even those associated with "shame based" suicides. I'd argue that killing yourself is such a desperate, not to mention painful, death that the level of despair or even shame one must feel to want to "off" yourself constitutes the life lesson in itself. You've already experienced the very worst life has to offer.
When I want to go - I'll go. I've been there. None of us is an angel, but if you haven't been a sadistic person and have not actively gone out of your way to hurt others in your lifetime - and if you've tried over decades to find peace in this world. If you've exhausted plan A to Z , then no God who would punish you for ending your life by sending you back for more of the same is worth your time. I don't believe suicides are punished by being _sent back for more of the same._
Do not focus on dark energy this is very important, because your energy flows exactly where your attention goes... ask yourself what you want to nourish in your life...
but regarding the question about depression, I was stuck in depression for two decades, it did not even make sense to me anymore to think about suicide, because this did not even feel like a solution anymore (you have to at least be convinced that suicide would alter anything, but if even this hope is gone... well there is not much left)...
I decided to walk the path to be courageous enough to see my pain, to live through it again and again and slowly in nine years time removed thin thin layers by layers... Now I am not yet standing in the light, but I see now that my depression was the pain I could never feel before, all the sadness and with it also anger stuffed up with no one who was willing to connect to me...
But in the end this forced me to dig deeper and deeper into my soul to find out that I myself as a soul being are pure love anyway and I do not need anybody else to feed me pieces of love to survive, because it is there in me already.
Don`t search outside, have the courage to take the steep walk inside, it is worth every step, believe me!
Actually, I do not feel the same way... Brian Weiss` interpretation is more a way to make you understand that the lessons will come anyway...
When I was 24 I had a near death experience and after that I realized that even if I do give up my life (and do enjoy the rest on the other side) I will come back with the exact emotional state and will have to resolve this state by looking to the inside anyways...
It is for sure not about punishment, please don`t feel this way, there is no god that judges you and commiting suicide won`t make you a bad person or a good one, but just imagine you have to go through all the drama again because your emotional state stays the same, when you come back to earth.
I do exactly know how you feel, because I have been there as well... not only once, but believe me you are so beautiful from the inside and the burden that is put on your shoulder and all the pain and sadness connected to it can not be removed by anyone else but only by you.
Please do find the courage to walk the path to you own inside... be courageous enough to look carefully at your own pain and slowly release it with tears... this gives you the chance to get in touch with your own beautiful light... Choosing suicide just makes the world a more sad place and please ask yourself the question: Whom are you trying to be easy on so you do not allow yourself to be sad or angry?

why would an ageless (and I presume omniscient) being want to experience ANYTHING AT ALL since they already know (as they're omniscient) what it's (going to be/been) like? I don't understand it.
In hindu understanding its a 'maya' or illusion , the divine play that the ultimate cosmic being (of which we are all individual fractals) experiences itself through multiple designed 'virtual realities'. Playing the game of forgetting and remembering again. It has never known anyone like Itself , and when It dreams the play begins and wakes up the play ends and everything starts again. Yes the ultimate is omiscient, infinite, but we as fractals get to represent it in varying qualities in different proportion. We can all access the ultimate, but in this 'play' we assume roles, experience and learn to make aspect of 'self' conscious on behalf of the ultimate. Being vs making it conscious by shadow play, by contrast. Knowing vs expressing potential in various 'unknown' situations.

No one can tell you to not commit suicide in the same way no one sends you a check each week or calls to see how you are on a regular basis. Do not be moved by charlatans who say everything is light, love, etc. Anyone who has spent time alive knows this is not the case.
This talk about "lessons to be learned" in also incongruent with someone telling you not to commit suicide. If lessons are to be learned and fate is fate, then there should not be ANY interference with someone who wants to commit suicide as this act alone provides numerous lessons to others who otherwise would not have experienced them.
But few people really believe that suffering is good and that lessons must be learned. Even the people whom may say these things are doing so as a mean to sell books, gain views, and appear even uplifted or spiritually wise. No one invites suffering into their life. No one says "Dear God/Universe, please send the plague, war, and famine so that I may experience suffering. Amen. You know who prays like that? Nobody.
The reality is you're trying to provide comfort in an uncomfortable place at the expense of others. You're ok with the suffering of others as long as it's the right group. Family, women, children, the elderly cannot be harmed or made to suffer but rather the men, the undesirables whom sitteth in the corner and endure because "lessons."

Dr Weiss, I have had three miscarriages in my journey for a baby. A medium has explained that my spirit guides are watching over a cheeky baby boy, who is waiting to join me here on earth. Could the soul of the baby boy be the same soul that is being taken from me so quickly after conception? And if that is so, what is the reason? Is this my lesson?
The lesson, I would assume that you have to take better care of your body. Conception comes from being fertile and fertile comes from plant-based foods that induce minerals and vitamins into the body to create a for fertile body. Look into juicing. That's my theory anyway

I don't see any lessons learned. Humanity is internally the same as it has been for tens of thousands of years at least. Personally I'd put that religious ethical viewpoint on a side. What's left is the experience of life itself. With every terror and glamour it comes.

I'm not sure if this was metaphorical or literal because right after I looked to my left and saw my husband standing off to the side holding a laptop. I 'm quite sure that I had some, involuntarily, and they're more common in the last months, and, in some way, i know how to reach them, but I stop when I feel that I'm loosing control, and it's scaring...Does the fact of these regressions happening involuntarily means anything?Should I look for help to try to find out what it is?
Hello Dr. Weiss. I have 2 questions: is it good or posible to regress children (4yo and up) with the intention of helping them with fears and anger?. Second question: What do you recomend I do to feel safe and protected while a try to do a "regresion" on my own? Thank you.
