The Style of this splendid concerto is unmistakably Mendelssohnian.
Bravo bravo bravo super super super wow wow wow brilliance fantastic grandiose music concerto
Sharon Kam is one of the great modern clarinetists. A fabulous recording.
Lovely articulation and dynamics, especially piano! Sensitive clarinet playing for a change! Good piece well played!
As a Clarinetist, this concerto is beautiful, and full of emotion. First time I had the pleasure of listening and I want more.
Rietz is brilliant.
Never heard of this composer before, but his music sounds most delightful !
I can actually feel the 'warmth' from the word 'GO'. Sharon Kam does true justice on the clarinet. As for Herr Rietz, what a brilliant unsung composer.
Thank you, Mr. Adler for this performance.
I suspect that there are many that listen to the slow movement on Classical Radio, but few who go beyond to listen to the entire concerto, which is a delight ! Enjoy your exploration !
Sempre più innamorato di questo concerto.. magico e magica l’atmosfera che emana…. Niente da invidiare a Spohr….
Excellente découverte. Ecoute trés agréable. Ambiance parfois champêtre, parfois festive. Merci pour ce partage.
Wonderful concerto! Thanks for sharing this amazing music with us!
This is a wonderful work, much better than any other 19th century clarinet concerto I have ever heard before, and that includes both by Carl Maria von Weber.
Leon Cohen Mozart and Weber were 18th century classical composers. Rietz belongs to the Romantic era (19th century)
Try Reicha's G minor concerto.
I have always heard that Weber is classified as a Romantic composer.
Weber's two clarinet concertos were both composed in 1811, making them 19th century pieces.
Such an inspired masterpiece...
Beautiful.
Its fine to hear a concerto I never heard before and from a composer unknown for me and I think its really good music worth to be more wellknown. This concerto should be
more played in concerts.Today I guess that there is only som few concerts wich plays all the time. Why not try even Rietz ?
You might want to try streaming UK's "Classic FM", which often plays relatively obscure composers after around 9PM UK time. That's how I heard about Rietz (and Finzi, Darke, and many others)
I can recommend Norbert Burgmuller's first piano concerto. It's Op. 1 in F sharp minor, and it's decent. Also his first Symphony Op. 2 C minor is one of my favorite symphonies of all time.
beau concerto, très interressant
Reitz was a contemporary of Mendelssohn who took Romanticism further then Mendelssohn did. However, compared to Liszt and Berlioz, Reitz was very conservative. It's all relative.
Rietz, not Reitz.
Super cocert
Good effort,
