really enjoyed this video and your other simple ones. I am a first time boat buyer looking to get a jon boat in the next couple weeks so I appreciate these videos.
Thanks for the video. Inherited a 1436 Jon boat , I’m new to the tiller motor. I’ve learned quickly until I master it I need to stay in smaller bodies of water with no currents. I find it difficult to manually adjust a 15.hp motor. Great videos, keep them coming.
Got the G3 in the garage! Getting the gear, life vest, storage boxes, etc., etc. lot of gear to get, but got almost everything. Funny, but 18 wheeler backed into my truck while at a Love's trailering the boat home from Arkansas, so truck is in the body shop getting reapired, ready to get it going soon after I get it registered, still waiting on paperwork to arrive. Thanks for your videos.
@Skinnyriver Will do. Thank you, going to spend the winter watching your videos, practicing towing and maneuvering and get out this spring for the sandbass run in March.
Yeah super simple, maybe a true beginner or someone looking to get a tiller can get something from the vid. I know you are experienced so I appreciate the view!!
I’m running a 6hp evinrude fisherman with a bigger tank on my crawdad with a new 3 blade and only hitting 14 mph. Do you think going to a smaller tank and adding a jack plate will help?
Do you know what pitch prop you are using? If it’s a 7 I would try an 8 first before investing in anything else I think the smaller tank would a little bit. I would experiment with the trim positions and where you have your battery. If your anti cavitation plate is parallel with the bottom of the hull you shouldn’t need a Jack plate
Yes sir I’m running a 8 inch pitch prop I have tried all my trim positions and 14 was all it had. The cavitation plate sits lower than the hull of my boat by at least 3 to 4 inches I have a jack plate already I just figured I would get a second opinion thank you for the reply.
@brandonlee1396 yeah if you are 3-4 inches low that Jack plate may help. If you are planing out good then I would look at weight reduction and the Jack plate.
Check out this video about setting your trim level: ruclips.net/video/PYldlDtkZrI/видео.html
