York has a great variety of towers. The Minster are clearly high quality bells and it's a fantastic place to ring, but it's not just all about the minster. I like the variety of sixes and eights in the city.
I quite agree - the sixes were equally enjoyable, for different reasons. We took in three more York towers later in the week, again all different - variety really is the spice of life
Good stuff Simon, so envious of the places you guys have rang at. Well I never, the first time I have seen a geezer with a Panama hat ring a bell.t That was funny.
They're not too shabby, I guess.... 🙃 In seriousness, we had three very different rings of bells today, the variety was nice - I quite liked both sixes, for different reasons. Nice to get a cheeky tower grab in my own city! 😆
@@Ringer_Fran just never been any ringing there when I'm about - I probably could have rung there before now if I'd arranged it myself; I just haven't! There's still a few around York I need, slowly mopping them up.... 😁
@@Ringer_Fran yes - especially where you think the church previously had a 14cwt 8 prior to the ex-Bullring bells being moved in! They're nice outside (albeit very quiet). A shame, with a bit of tinkering inside they could be much improved....
@@wereswdfgrdesd indeed not; we ring at both towers on a Sunday morning, back-to-back. We did go there later in the week on our Tour, so keep your eyes peeled. 😉

Two nice 6s, oh, and that ring of 12, they seem half decent 😉

@@simonbellringer Still in disbelief you had never rung at Spurriergate before!

Did you get to the superb twelve down the road?
Which one - Escrick? 😆 We couldn't get those, regrettably....

@@RingerLuca651 They are superb sounding, just in the wrong sodding tower!

York Minster is always the Best option for ringing tours.
Every ringing tour should feature a York Minster 😊
@@simonbellringer st wilfrid is not far from the minster
