"Don't think, feel"~ SuMetal
Babaymetal was formed in 2010 Doki Doki Morning was their first single release. this concert was at Budokan Black night on January 7, 2015
Budokan shows were on March 1st and 2nd in 2014. The Blu-Ray released on January 7th, 2015.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 💓 ⏰
"Doki Doki" represents the sound of an excited heartbeat.
This was their first single, music video, etc.
Like a lot of Heavy Metal songs, the lyrics talk about which cute hairstyle and lip gloss you should decide on for school. : )
It was this video blowing up on social media that helped BABYMETAL start to go viral, especially outside of Japan.
Rick Wagner : My seat was located in front of BOH's pit today. In the grand finale with IDZ, he played in a hilarious manner which made many audiences happy. Especially he actually did finger tapping on his red bass putting it on the corridor upside down (I was afraid that the instrument would bend).
And during head banging time in "Headbangeeerr", BOH, Isao and Ohmura stepped out of their pits and played on the corridor with raging action. They stood out very much.
I witnessed BND with Riho Avenger, my favorite song, on Makuhari Day-1 last year. That was exquisite. Yesterday's and today's BND with Momoko was beautifully, too. MoaMomo is a good and well-synchronized combination, I believe.
You need to check out the official MV it's the song that started it all when they were 13,12,and 12
Doki Doki is your heartbeat and it's about waking up late and your in a hurry
they're not necessarily late; they're just excited.

the girls are sooo young in the music video for this song... this is where babymetal got started.
Their first song and the perfect definition of Kawaii/Cute Metal - catchyAF pop chorus in between bursts of heavyAF Metal. Glad to see it made you smile between the WTF? moments. Try their first Metal fest appearance outside Japan, in the UK. Su referred to it in a December interview on NHK Tokyo TV as the favourite moment of her career as she knew at the end of the gig that Metal fans had accepted them. Storming set from the Kami Band and the girls showing guts of steel in stepping out on the stage, aged just 15 and 16, in front of 60,000 Metal heads. They ended with the best Metal song ever about stopping bullying forever, Ijime, Dame, Zettai (you can refer to it as IDZ, as many do): ruclips.net/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/видео.html
Great reaction. As you've already been told this was BABYMETAL's very first song. It was recorded at the end of October 2010 when Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11 and they made their stage debut with this song at a Sakura Gakuin show (SG being their parent Idol group) in November 2010.
The official video was recorded nearly a year later, Su was 13, Yui and Moa had just turned 12 ... and they were tiny.
This show was at the Budokan in March 2014 and the Budokan shows were the first where the Kami Band played the whole show (they had done a short series of shows in May 2013 but there is no recording from them as far as I'm aware). They - or the Kami Band of the West - have been ever present for all live shows ever since.
I think this is part of what was being said in the intro (taken from du-metal's site):
"When the jet-black darkness is dyed crimson, the Fox God,
in order to give BABYMETAL more power,
sends down the god band of the Metal...,
the gods of guitar,
the god of bass,
and the god of drums.
The strongest metal band play
the "tunes of steel" which were recorded in the major scripture "BABYMETAL" given by the Fox God.
From the moment the first sound breaks out, without a stop,
they play all tunes continuously as if a suite.
That is to say, there is no talk between songs and no encore."
There was more to that, but I'm not entirely sure I found the right thing so I won't put all of it.

@@flugelhornoldman1362 Thanks, that must have been so much fun to witness in person. Hopefully there will be a video one day so the rest of us can see it too.
I enjoyed the look on your face as you watched the video with a sly grin on your face.
This is the kawaii-metal.
It makes everyone smile.
And it brings everyone THE ONE.
This is where it all started and you just have to let yourself go and enjoy it. It's a sentimental favorite with many fans, but doesn't get played much anymore because the girls are not girls anymore. In this Budokan version you can really hear the crowd joining in which I love. FYI "doki doki" is a Japanese phrase used to describe the excitement of a beating heart and the song is about getting ready for school and doing new things as a teen girls and also has a couple of lines that puncture the trope of silly schoolgirls, which might be a subtle dig at Sakura Gakuin or a bit of girl power.
Babymetal started as a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin and Doki Doki Morning was first released on the Sakura Gakuin 2010 Nendo CD. Here is an early performance featuring an enthusiastic guy in a white T-shirt in the bottom right of the screen...Babymetal fans say you are a "white T-shirt guy" if you are being very enthusiastic.
ruclips.net/video/C-r4bajuu9Y/видео.html
"Hello Ivy!" and "Dear Mr. Socrates" from that CD were quickly released as singles, but Babymetal and "Doki Doki Morning" didn't get as much promotion. But there must have been some good feeback about the song and the chemistry of the girls as a video was eventually released in late 2011. I think in that time Amuse and Koba were seeing if Babymetal had legs and Koba was lobbying for a small video budget.
This is the song that most clearly showcases the foundations of Babymetal concept. You should check the music video and you'll see very quickly the feeling they were trying to convey.
Yes watch the official video a see baby BabyMetal!
After Apollo show in London fans at one of the meet up after partys . Someone had given the bar a cd with this on . So normal customers in the bar where bemused to see loads of hairy arsed bearded metalheads dancing and singing to this song
🤘🦊🤘🤣
Love it! Would only be fitting to follow this up with Uki Uki Midnight 🦊🤘🔥🖤
- This is one of the few exceptions to the “always do live shows” rule, as most would say the best way to experience this song for this first time is the music video.
- The reason why that is, it’s the first song BABYMETAL made way back in 2010, and in the music video they’re very small lol. When this song was recorded, Su-Metal was 12 years old and Yuimetal and Moametal were 11 years old. “Doki Doki Morning” is what started it all.
- For future reference, whenever you eventually get around to “Iine”, you gotta do the MV for that first lol
- In a lot of their earlier songs, the switch from the pop parts and metal parts are very... rigid? Like, it’s a drastic switch, whereas a lot of their newer stuff is a proper blend of the metal and pop. I like both, but if that drastic switch isn’t your thing you may not like their earlier stuff as much (looking at you Iine).
- You’ve hit the point where I highly recommend you check out one of the BABYMETAL guide videos. Oh my channel, there is a long and short one, longer one goes into way more detail, if you just want the basics do the shorter one. People tend to really like the guide reactions and it’ll help answer many of the questions you still have and generally give you a better sense of the group.
I came here to write the exact same thing. React to the original video.
YES YES! Original music Video.
Well, if we really want to go back to the very beginning, we could always recommend their first ever live performance, at the Sakura Gakuin Festival in November 2010. The music video was not recorded until October 2011.
Thank you for that, I will search the guide! 🤘
@@SeanStaxxMusic If you search it, the old, long one will pop up first. I assume you're not going to want to do the 40+ minute video, do the one I just linked there.
Edit: It wont let me link anything, it is called "A Beginner’s Guide to BABYMETAL" and it is 17 minutes long. If you do want to do the longer, more in depth one, it is titled "Everything You Need To Know About BABYMETAL" and it is like 44 minutes long.
Nice & thanks again from Japan 💛。BABYMETAL is singing about a school girl who overslept in the morning and got up quickly and dressed in haste asking repeatedly what time it was now. "Doki Doki" signifies sound of fast heartbeat. And the girl also got excited looking forward to what was going to happen today at her school and in her future as well.
Now in 2021, Su and Moa are matured and no longer school girls, but they performed this song again in on-going shows at Budokan, the same venue in the video, mimicking their own childish voices. Yes, you are right. Seeing their cute performance is important. It made audiences very happy. I was one of them ! ヽ(^o^)丿
It's very funny to see how you try to explain the impressions of this song seriously. ))
Although this song was still the first stone, when the world was not ready to accept Babymetal, as they became later, and not so much because the girls were too young (well, yes, and therefore too).
Fans love the official video because they want to remember how it all began, and how little girls really were when fate was already predetermined.
But when I watched your reaction I was only convinced once again that even this early song is quite good.
yup, you gotta watch the original video of them from 2010 or whatever year it was... this makes more sense as a classic
This song laid the foundation of kawaii metal. The first cute and metallic song was born in this world!
Great reaction here’s the translations to the opening
Prologue to Summons Ceremony in "Black Night"
[Doomsday
Summons]
On the night when the crimson flame burns down everything
and this land is enveloped by the jet-black darkness,
finally the time of fate comes,
towards the end of the Metal Resistance...
On the morning of the day when they depart for the new stage,
like the sound of a small bell gradually changes into the sound of a big bell,
BABYMETAL are going to be summoned into the giant magic circle.
The Fox God said
"Because there is an end, there is a beginning".
And then the sound of the bell that tells the end of the Metal Resistance
and tells the opening of the new legend
resounds from the giant magic circle.
Long ago, the Godmother who is the mother of the Fox God said
"It is you who shall ring that gong".
This was Babymetal's debut single back in 2012, so of course, the contrast between cuteness and heavyness is being maximised in this song, this being the very birth of what would become Kawaii Metal. This is one of the few songs where watching the official music video is also being encouraged by the fan base (fair warning: cuteness overload, also they're younger in that than you've ever seen them, 11 to 13 years I think).
If I get a free shot, I'd say you should watch 'Karate (Official Music Vid)' next. Verse follows a minor/oriental scale and chord progression, but the chorus is all major chords. ;-)
This was the first song they recorded. and the intro was a statement of what the band was about. It starts off cute and poppy, and they switch to heavy like a punch in the face. They were pretty much demolishing the stereotype of a female Idol performer. You see it again where instead of an solo or breakdown, they lay on the stage motionless. The poppy bits are also due in part to the fact that they did not yet know how heavy they could go and be accepted. Turns out they could go really heavy.
I promise myself one day when Japan re-opens to foreign tourists and I get to visit, the very first question I'm gonna ask a local is "Ima nanji?"
Haha what’s that mean?
@@SeanStaxxMusic
What time is it?
A Babymetal concert is an immersive participatory event. Audience participation is highly encourage. That's why you'll hear the crowd chant "Ima Nanji?" with the girls... see at 4:20
@@SeanStaxxMusic
BTW, I will likely say it with a silly smile on my face...much like yours 😀
This was their very first song. :-)
This is their very first song they did it Started the whole legacy of BABYMETAL
Nice pick! This song pretty much represents the birth of _kawaii-metal_ . Personally, I think this live performance is perfectly fine for a first time reaction. The live crowd, as always, adds that extra layer that makes the track feel more lively. Also, the bit during the song where they all drop to the floor and then, each pretend to wake up before jumping back into the chorus, is exclusive to the live performance and is one of my favorite BABYMETAL choreographic sequences.
The main selling point of the music video is how young the girls were when they recorded it. It was shot on a low budget and is not really one of their best (IMO). That being said, I do believe that the music video is an absolute must watch for any BABYMETAL fan, if anything for its importance and relevance to their history and where they started, and also because it's fun and charming as all hell.
This is Babymetal first single which Babymetal still under Sakura Gakuin or Cherry Blossom School. Babymetal debut with Doki Doki Morning and perform at Sakura Gakuin concert in 2010. Babymetal fanbase ages varies from the youngest to the oldest and some hardcore fans that supports Babymetal wherever they perform. This song is one of those which both non-metalheads and metalheads can enjoy. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤟
Official video is classic!
Great again dude! Your face is like "what the hell"?!! xD this song is a classic and the first song of Babymetal. Do you want something crazy? Well, react to "Iine" (iine) Live. 3 differents stylesin 1 song. Is absolutely crazy!! See you in the next!
Same formula as Gimmee Chocolate, a Massive hit !
The hardest working artists in the business.
Reaction to BABYMETAL? I watch it, I like it, I subscribe 🤘🦊🤘 My kids are going to grow listening to this song Im telling ya!
Ha ha!
I think this performance was around 17 years old, but this song was their debut when they were 12 or 13.
This was before they started doing full-fledged metal songs.
Su was 16 here, when they played Budokan for the first time on March 1st and 2nd, 2014.
Yui and Moa were 14.
heavy… cute… crazy!
my favorite song🤘🤓🤘
I saw that you were reacting to "Doki Doki Morning" and thought, "Uh oh, this is going to shock the heck out of his guy." Then I saw it was the live version. There was slight disappointment but it was still fun to see your reaction to the very first Babymetal song. It's... different.
The video is a must see, but only after full immersion into the Foxhole. Otherwise it might frighten you away.
To see Su, Moa and Yui before they became their Metal personas is a hoot.
These girls must be protected at all costs. They are a treasure to the world.
I am not at all brainwashed or am I a member of a cult.
I'm happy.
This one goes out to all the Metal Heads late for school!
Straighten them bangs. Put on some lip gloss.
And party!!!!!
The MV of this song is a must watch. Hope u do a reaction to it 🤘🏻🦊❤
Babymetal is like a ddos attack on your brain 🤣 I love em
Please watch Deep Purple Child in Time live 1970...an epic 8 min reaction vid :)
105 million and counting 😊
First of them I ever saw was the MV of this.
For the next week I only looked for other times they'd done it -I adored it within about 10 seconds but assumed it was a gimmick which I couldn't get enough of. Then I saw the Megitsune video and it was downhill (or hole) from there......
P.s. Sorry I'm keeping you busy working the way up your list - I'm already subscribed though - you really don't have to keep thumbsing me up or whatever 😂 - but thankyou for your consideration. I'll forgive you for being a bit iffy about Onedari Daisakusen even - I just find it hilarious with lyrics. I like your review style - keep the good work up 👍
Amazing reaction mate :)
Thank you 🙏
For choreo with metal, my favorite is YAVA, but Catch Me if You Can is also a fan favorite for the choreo
BabyMetal share the same choreographer that works with their Amuse Big Sister band, Perfume.
Ima nanji = What time is it?
I love how they transition from heavy to light just like that. And most listeners were like "Wait, what?"
It was smooth! Def caught me off guard lol
ありがとうございました❣️
"you cant dance to metal" Babymetal: 'Hold my pigtails'
😂
You need to check out Kingslayer, we all really need it!
Do line! By baby metal live is better, but the music video is good
All BABYMETAL roads lead to Sakura Gakuin.....and you're well on your way there. 🤘🦊🤘
🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Your doing the fox god sign wrong. Lol
🥺
@@SeanStaxxMusic All good buddy. You’ll get it. Ha

Doki Doki morning is my first ever babymetal song ive heard from them and not gimme choco. 😆
Hi bro, like many comments said, this song is way better to watch the official MV because it was their very first song and they were so freakin young and cute you just can't help kawaii UwU
This was my first BabyMetal song back in the late 2011 and it shocked me too just like you did lol later on lost the track of the group.
Still live version is fun for the fans because nostalgic and such, also we can hear SuMetal imitating her young voice and according to MoaMetal she's very good at it.
They didn't made so many live versions after this one you saw, but recently due to 10 years anniversary they performed this song several times like yesterday at Budokan live 7th Day, this was the setlist:
1- IN THE NAME OF
2- Distortion
3- PA PA YA!!
4- Gimme Choko!!
5- Doki Doki Morning
6- BxMxC
7- Brand New Day
8- Megitsune
9- KARATE
10- Headbanger!!
11- Road Of Resistance
12- THE ONE
13- Ijime, Dame, Zettai
The show was very fun and the girls really shine like always.
Keep having fun into the Fox Hole \m/
Ps: If you're gonna watch Ii ne! song do it with the official MV, trust me ;)
That was the best reaction ever I think because you didn't know it was one of the first songs. If you had watched the video you would've seen how young they were. The song actually has some pretty deep lyrics about women having to fake it. You should check out Andrew Hartley's channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCbMtvBozhQ8MbyG1jcgZUSg
He lived in Japan and loves Babymetal. He breaksdown the lyrics and their meaning especially in context of Japan. His breakdown of Megitsune (which I don't think you've watched yet...you should) made the whole Babymetal experience so much deeper and better for me. Also the 'Catch me if you Can' breakdown is sooo good cause you learn the girls are taunting a demon...so much more than a game of tag. So just do it! Watch his videos! Now!!
ベビーメタルを紹介するときにどの曲から教えるかは迷う
Some day you will need to stream a live show of BM on twitch and I'll love every second of it. :)
like your reaction to this. Please react to Rolling Quartz song called Blaze. They are a New Korean Rock group. I think you might like them.
🍅🍅🍅
🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
This song is where it all started, back when they were still a subgroup of an idol group.
Metal songs like Road of Resistance are great, but songs like this is where the real fun and innovation lies. This is what inevitably makes people smile, even if they need some time to admit to it. This is what no other band can give you.
The vibes are immaculate 🤘🦊
The Music Video of this is more fun^^ ..
By the way, if you ever become curious enough to want to explore more of their very early days, let the fans know a bit in advance, so that we can give you some pointers. A bit of backstory and some carefully selected trivia will give you more context and make the experience more meaningful, I think. You certainly wouldn't want to watch something like the Babymetal cover of "Over the Future" without knowing its significance, for instance. It would literally make the difference between you shrugging your shoulders and going "meh", and you crying your heart out.
Oh wow, that’s good to know. Thank you!
React to (G)-IDLE PLEASE
Their first single....makes a bit more sense if watching the MV
🤣🍅💀🤘
Just like what others said, this is their very first song so it sounds different than their other songs. If you want to hear their 2nd song, (also sounds different than their other songs) I recommend you their song Iine! (it was pronounced as "ee-nay" to prevent you from confusing it and reading it as "Line")
Kitsunes up!
Well you just witnessed magic
BABYMETAL FIRST SONG AND VIDEO EVER IN 2010
SU was 12 and the girls were 11 by the live performance you just reacted to SU WAS 16 and the girls were 14
That’s so wild they’ve been doing music at a big scale since a young age!
@@SeanStaxxMusic You want to know something even Wilder? The lead singer, SU, was in a J-POP band before being in Babymetal, called "Karen Girls" when she was 10 years old, and they made songs for the anime called "Zettai Karen Children". At that time, while being 10 years old, they performed at the Saitama Super Arena in front of 20k people! That's the same arena where they performed the Road of Resistance live in japan!
Ear worm city.
