While almost all other videos on this theme all seemed to be focused on utility, yours is packed with story and nostalgia. This is what sets you apart and this is why I love you so much.
I don't want to imagine a world without you as a beauty RUclipsr.🥰
Awww ❤️
Good morning everybody! Michele and morning coffee ☕ , yay!
Iris loves life good morning to you, good afternoon to us (it is 18:00 in Belgium now) :-) (and I am drinking my second cup of coffee for the day)
Good Morning Iris, Michele and everyone! I slept in and am just now having coffee. Coffee + Michele = perfect morning
Iris loves life Good morning Iris...hope you have an amazing Sunday 😘
Good morning Iris! ☀️💜
☕️❤️
Michele is the coolest, & she doesn’t even think she is. ❤️
Weelittlebird * Agree,, she simply is the coolest .
I watched so many videos of this “ my beauty collection if I wasn’t.....” boring boring boring.
Hers instead is a tale of her life.
❤️
Aw, thanks
omg this brought back so many memories ! for me the royal family of makeup artists were kevyn aucoin, françois nars, mary greenwell & pat mcgrath. they were everywhere from allure to w, it was an amazing time 💗
4 legends! Their artistry never goes out of style!
Yes I remember. I believe Kevyn Aucoin was Madonna’s makeup artist. He was my makeup idol!!
@@bonniegeppert3912 i used to read and collect allure for years and years, and kevyn aucoin's page was one that i looked forward to reading all the time. allure was such a game-changing welcome right from its inception because although i've always been interested in fashion from the creative aspect (vs trends, that every other magazine was focusing on), it was makeup & all its artistic possibilities that i was obsessed about, and that magazine's focus was spot on.
If it weren’t for Michele, I wouldn’t have any bronzers. I just assumed they would all be too dark for light skin. Not true! And now I’m into primers too thanks to Michele. ❤️❤️❤️
I wear the hourglass bronzers all over as finishing powder. Haven't bothered buying their actual finishing powders.
This video was so great. I remember first being into makeup around 12, my mom would order Bare Escentuals off of QVC and I always wanted to play with her things. I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup until I turned 15, and for my 15th birthday I spent it in France and Italy. I walked into a sephora for the first time at the Champs-Élysées and I was home. I later ended up working for the company for 5+ years, as well as Ulta management. Makeup is my complete passion. Have always loved it, always will.
It’s so nice to hear how different people got into makeup seriously for the first time. For me I think it was Lisa Eldridge and I was mesmerised by how she would talk about certain products like the Becca shimmering skin perfector. I remember I got my mum to pick it up from the US because they didn’t have it in my country.
The world before Google, I remember it so well....I am so glad RUclips has allowed me to get to know you. Love your passion about high end makeup, skincare and your honest reviews......love you Michele Wang 😘😘😘
Thanks Lourdes!
I'm also a drawer/painter outside of YT and get sucked-in by high design and unique packaging! I've watched so many of these styles of videos, and yours is by far the most thoughtful, true-to-past and I loved hearing your reasoning. Story time with Michele can't be beat! You've inspired me to open up a little more in my own videos. Thanks for being you!!!
This was StoryTime with Michelle and I LOVE IT 🥰
Love this tag! I remember seeing pat Mc Graths name in those magazines too!
I love your take on this tag! This is what I thought people were going to do and I was admittedly a little disappointed when it was just another favorites video.
Thank you again for a lovely and fascinating peek into your past 🥰 Your reaction to Fluid Sheer mirrors mine - what wizardry is this?! 😍 Funny, I was just talking about A Time Before The Internet with my other half last night. There just was no Wikipedia - so much information was just so hard to find. Thank you so much for all the fascinating and top-quality content you provide. i'm so happy for you that your channel is growing!!
Thanks Barbara, thanks for your support.
The world before google and common place internet. 😱 😂 A time when we had to look at card catalogs, browse bookstores, and anxiously wait for newspapers and magazines to be delivered. I’m with you when it comes to PMG. How can you say no when you factor in the quality plus the package artwork? Thanks for doing this video. 🙂
Michele is the consummate beauty lifestyle guru, she entertainingly and brilliantly explains and illustrates how a beautiful existence can be enjoyed. Thanks Michele!
I've always been a makeup junkie. I remember playing with my mom's collection as a child.
Skincare started early. I remember going with my dad and getting the Clinique 3 step collection. I must have been 16.
After college, and getting my 1st job, it was always off to Bonwit Teller looking for the perfect shade of lipstick. To date, I still haven't found it.
I'm grateful to the dermatologist who started me on Retin-A in my 20s for adult acne. He told me to never stop using it. So, over 30 years on it.
Love the products you chose.
Your skin always looks flawless, and very elegant.
The Victoria Beckham eyeshadow palette is just lovely❣❤
Michele you totally did this video the right way! Every time I see someone do one of these I feel like it’s basically a favorites video so I’m so glad to see someone do it to where it actually makes sense.
My makeup collection if I didn’t watch any RUclips beauty channel would be a lot less than what I have now😆
It’s hard to imagine you with facial excema - your skin is so gorgeous! I am having my first flare up, at the ripe old age of 63. It’s tough to deal with and I’m very happy you’re doing so well now! Love watching your channel - no one demonstrates skin beauty with makeup as well as you do.
This such an elegant, elevated and well curated collection based on personal passions. 10/10 loved!
Thanks for sharing this. Your points are so mature and unique that def is standing out.
It was so nice to hear about your makeup journey. Thank you for sharing it with us!
I loved your take on this video! Your makeup history and reasoning behind your interest in each product was so unique and fun to hear about!!! 💖💖💖
I love your take on this tag. It made the topic more personal and interesting.
Hi Michele! I really respect you that you put so much thought into every product/reasoning behind it. This was a wonderful video.
I loved how you went into the history of your love for makeup and did a different spin on it by analyzing in depth what you’d use based on your old preferences, not your current. Such an interesting, thought provoking video! Your insight and different take on things is what sets you apart! Love you! You’re my favorite beauty guru! Keep up the great content! Also, I love your vlogs and your what’s in my bag videos so keep those coming! I love seeing what changes in a persons bag based on the change of seasons or change of bag.
Loved this!!! This is exactly what this video concept needs to be. Like you said, most videos I've seen of this type have basically been going over favorite products. What I love, is hearing the history and evolution of one's makeup journey. What products would they use or be drawn to without the influence of the online beauty space.
Your story with makeup is a lot like mine. I loved it in high school, but in my 20s, my skin became a mess. It reacted angrily to anything I put on my face. I had horrible acne and rosecea. I just winged my liner and threw on mascara for years. But in my mid 30s, my skin changed drastically. I've been watching beauty RUclips for about 5 years, but just last year, I found the courage to try a full face again. And I'm loving it. I'm 36 and I'm a baby as far as applying my own makeup. But I've found a serious passion for it and it's so much fun. You are a huge inspiration to me. I needed this reminder that its never too late. Makeup is for everyone.
Such a fun trip down memory lane ✨ I appreciate how much thought you put into each item. Loved hearing more about “the 90’s” and why you still love each product. 💖
I just loved your stories about makeup. Thanks you for sharing!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This was so cool to watch, hearing your fascination with the products. Sharing stories from back in college. You made this video so special, it was so fun! Thank you Michele.
I absolutely love your approach here!! So thoughtful.
Enjoyed watching it! I often gravitate towards your suggested bronzers and then I reconsider the ones I have. Love 💕
Omg dying.....i grew up seeing "Makeup by Pat McGrath" in all the high fashion mags too and always wondered who is this amazing artist?? PM having her own line now that I have daughters? The best! Thanks for the nostalgia, Michele!! Loved this video. I also love the Surratt Lipsliques and I'm so tempted by the VB Satin brick eyeshadow...I have all her Lid Lustres and they are phenomenal.
Your choices sound so real. I have no youtube chanel, i don't work on anything related to beauty, and I have more than 1 product of each cathegory as other videos show. I really enjoyed this video 🙂
I should do a what would my makeup collection look like if I wasn't a diehard Michele Wang fan!! As always, well thought out and fun content...have a restful Sunday!! ☕️
Same to you, thanks
Michele in the morning is the best! I've been waiting for you to make this video. Happy Sunday! I've been binging your videos (even more than usual) to get me through surgery recovery the past few days. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Thanks Breanna, hope you heal quickly
Lovely to hear your back story Michele...thank you!! xx
I love listening to your journey into makeup Michele 💕 Love this video💖💖💖
This is hands down the best version of this tag! Loved loved your personalized take on it! ❤️👍
Well done! Very engaging and interesting to hear you talk about how you got here and your relationship to makeup. Love your channel.
How fun to look back and reflect, thanks for taking us on your makeup journey. You have been such a huge influence on my reintroduction to makeup at 50 years old.
I love that your choices all have a story and meaning attached to them! Loving the nostalgia vibes in this video💓. I have watched a few of these tag videos and this is my favourite 😊 Thanks for sharing with us 🥰
Hey I love the history about your relationship with make up! I loved hearing you share your picks.
Michele thank you so much for your consistent work, I'm always looking forward to your new videos and morning coffee
Xx
Michele, this video is FASCINATING. Thank you for sharing! ✨❤️
I love your take on this video. I have seen some people's videos that ended up basically being a starter kit recommending some staples and basics to their audience. I think you captured the essence of this tag so well and I find myself often thinking of what I would gravitate towards and what I used to gravitate towards before beauty RUclips. I have loved makeup for so long and always had more than my friends but what I have now is definitely excessive and I find myself wanting to pare down so that I enjoy my collection like I used to. I love using up my products so a smaller collection just makes sense for me! I want to do this tag myself =)
I really love your story with makeup! I think that’s the beauty of these products it’s the way they make you feel. This is my favourite one of these videos
Best one so far. You nailed it Michele💜
I enjoyed this so much Michele! Loved hearing your history with makeup!!! 🥰
Lovely video with a nice take on this theme. I love how your connection with makeup seems to come from a place of creativity and artistry!
I love this make up look! 😍😍
Loved your take on this!
Love this so much! and everytime you say something I'm like, OMG Yes! from the art, fashion design, the magazine, the attraction and pull towards the packaging and the stories and connection .. to the wearable looks.. you're the best xx just the person I have been looking for!
One of my favorite videos of you Michelle!!
My favorite video of this tag so far ❤️ Thank you!
Love the bullet or crayon lips plus gloss! Great video love what you choose!
Really interesting video. Love your choices!!
We have similar back stories. I always wanted to be a designer, thought about art school and fashion design. Ended up in a very different place and went to law school. Just started my beauty channel to fulfill my creative side. It’s great to hear how “real life” make up collections are very different. 😊
I love the small Armani brush I remember buying with the matching foundation . I still use a lot for concealer x
Loved your take on this Michele!
Great video Michele!! Thank you for sharing your story!!
I love the way you speak and organize your videos, your voice is so calming as well. I think you deserve 1m+ subscribers, but I will definitely continue watching you for as long as I can!
Love your Channel, real, cool and beautiful, thank you Michele !!!
You're such a wonderful storyteller Michele, I could listen for these anecdotes for hours... Very nice video!
Thank you for the video Michele. Before the internet...ahh yes between Allure Magazine and going into Henri Bendell that was my makeup education. This is when the beauty counter was your best friend and insider for makeup knowledge and technique. Thank you for the nostalgia!!
I just love your channel. I discovered you a few months back and have enjoyed all of your content. You are always so charming and positive even when you are giving a review of a product that you didn’t necessarily like. Your reviews are always so informative. I have come to completely trust your opinions on products . Your enthusiasm for makeup is contagious! Thank you!
Thanks for watching Jennifer
You are the one who made me realize the importance of bronzer and highlighter. Thank you Michele! 🥰
I just love the way you have done this tag. You are so beautiful! 💐🌺
This is SO interesting and fun! It makes a great context for all your videos. Thank you for sharing these lovely stories!
Hello Michelle, I really enjoying watching your videos, and your natural and simply way to explain things!!! Sorry English is my second language. You are a very nice and successful beauty lady !!! Thank you
I was a nerdy grunge girl in my teens (90s) so makeup was the least of my interests. In my 20s I did started to be a bit more interested but I was totally clueless, I think lipstick was the only product I knew about. It wasn’t until the makeup RUclips era (I was in my late 30s) that I finally learned about it and how to do my makeup. My collection is small but high quality, products that enhance my features instead of masking them. If I had more money I would add some Victoria Beckham stuff. Her products are absolutely dreamy.
Really enjoyed this Michele! 🎨
This is such a good video! You approached it so good. I do think that most of the RUclipsrs wouldn’t have discovered a few of their mentioned products just because they wouldn’t have been youtubers. And they didn’t take this into account while creating their videos on this topic. So your approach was really fun and interesting to watch! 👌🏻❤️
This was an interesting take on this video. I absolutely loved it
Love the honesty ❤️ and I always love your videos ❤️💋
I feel like your take on this tag video was more realistic that a lot of others I’ve seen!!! At least for me, not being a beauty guru, i relate to your’s more!!😆💓
Good morning my friend 💕. I loved this video this morning with my coffee. I have loved makeup since I was really small. My grandma has a beautiful collection of makeup and I used to play with it all. My collection now, is so over the top, thank you for that lol. I really think I would have 1/2 of what I have if I never found RUclips, but I’m glad I did. I know what I like now, still am in love with makeup. Love ya ♥️♥️
Makeup is hard to break up with, thanks Lauren!
What a fun video! That was very interesting, Michelle, and I loved the concept. This exercise must have really forced you to think about what is "essential" and it was a lot of fun to see what you chose. Some of the choices were a bit different than I would have predicted, so I got a kick out of seeing your final selections.
Great choices!! I love the idea of this video!
Michele. Great video and unique discussion that stirred alot of memories. Thank you for sharing. I also had a draw to Pat McGrath; discovered G.Armani foundation about 15 years ago at Saks, and I still have my archived foundation brush. You being you introduced me to the best beauty has to offer from beautylish to bk brushes, Chantecaille, etc. Thanks for being you!!!
Thanks for watching Francine
Great video. Love to see your enthusiasm for this topic.
You are a storyteller, Michele... for me this is the best video on this theme... I have enjoyed watching and listening... thank you...
I love this!!! Oh girl this was so interesting and to see what you would have been into. I love that you were inspired by artist supplies. I used to love Vogue magazine!
I loved to hear your makeup history. I remember my own first steps into makeup and my first products.🥰
I brought my very first Tom For eyeshadow quad because I watch your videos. I must say I really love it and I love your videos
I definitely enjoyed this video finding out the history of your obsession with PM and reconnecting with beauty makeup. You are destined to be a You Tuber with passion of artistic tastes.❤️
Thanks Yoko!
Omg they stories are lovely 🤗🤗🤗
I love your switch and you make up history !
Loved your story about part Pat McGrath! I had a similar experience of following her name/career, and the Armani foundation and foundation brush were the first fancy makeup purchase I'd ever made!
This was one of my absolute favorite videos of yours. It was so fun to hear your journey with makeup and I can just tell how much you really enjoy makeup. I can also completely relate to your younger self. I still don’t wear foundation or powder 99% of the time, even though I wear everything else.
I love how your version of this video has all the memories attached to it! Not just the products you love right now 🤗
I loved your take on this style video. I liked hearing the history and I was a 90s girl too. I ripped out pictures in Vogue, too.
I absolutely loved this video. It was enjoyable to hear you speak about how you got into make up and also struggles with make up or at least with your skin. I also like your take on this video it was unique compared to some of the other people who did this video tag.
I really enjoyed this video! I loved makeup as a tween and teen in the late 80s and early 90s and really enjoyed making up my friends. When I got married in my early 20s and quickly had 5 kids, I stopped using it because life was hectic with also working full time as a nurse. In the past 10 years from 35-45, I have rediscovered my love of makeup, and it is fun at this age. I really enjoy your content, you put a lot of thought and care into your work and it shines through!
🙌 Thanks Gina, glad you have rediscovered something that can be fun for you!
That was so interesting Michele. Not only for the products, but to learn more about you.
I recently found your channel and I absolutely love it. The first thing that attracted me to your channel is that we have similar hair colors, very dark hair with gray in the front. I also have eczema, and this is the first time that I see a makeup RUclipsr be open about their struggles with eczema. I LOVE that there's no contouring in your videos I've seen so far. You seem so relatable and honest. I just thought I would share.
I loved that Armani concealer too.
I loved this video! As you noted, your approach was different than other beauty gurus, but I really liked it hearing about your history with makeup! I also liked that you gave examples of products that you wouldn't own. I don't wear foundation either and sometimes I feel pressure to get one since everyone else on here seems to use it haha! Love your vibe! :)
This is such a great take on this tag video! Very interesting!
