So, our club regularly runs Paint-n-Takes at our local cons. I don't think anyone would be heartbroken about any vaguely sane number of minis being painted by a single person, as long as they're being painted at the con. (Seven minis isn't unreasonable if you're hanging out with us for long enough to paint seven minis.) For paint, I've switched almost entirely to Golden Fluid Acrylics and SoFlat Acrylics. I like them better than any of the ... many ... hobby paint lines I've used in the last (mumble) decades. I still use metallics from hobby lines and occasionally I'll find something that wants some random color that I can find easily from one of my older lines, but I really love artists' fluid acrylics/acrylic gouaches. FWIW, I virtually never use superglue with metal models. 2-part epoxy works so much better that it's worth the extra effort.
And a hex map minis game? Oooh. Looking forward to hearing more about it. As to your relationship with the game publisher affecting your take on the game. As long as you are upfront about the details of the relationship, no one should be surprised, or have any complaint.
I used to HATE metal models because I could never get the glue to really stick, but I found a very strong alternative to CA glue: UV Resin is so strong once fully cured that it will hold metal minis together even through repeated abuse!
I heard Bert Mabers paints so fast he actually finishes all the paint and take models himself. But he’s a good dude so he strips them so everyone else has something to paint.
Casey, solidarity with you on the pickle jar! 🥒I get a lot of flack for wiping my brushes dry on an old sock, but I'm not changing. 🧦Don't let the nay-saying get to you!
As someone who runs paint and takes on the regular, I'd say you get to paint ONE and take it. If you follow the socials of the manufacturer I will give you one for the road. If you want to paint more than one model, it will be $3 each after the first free one.
Its not the identification of school busses or motorcycles or stop signs the computers struggle with, its moving the cursor to click on them in a human like way. That's why a lot of modern "prove your a human" gimmicks are just sliders or check boxes to click on, its the movement of the cursor to the thing being clicked on not the intelligence behind the clicking being measured
If you sat and painted then took? And also not keeping anyone else from painting. I would think that you were only doing what the event was named. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the minis and at what scale they get released at.
I’m not sure if you were awar Brent but you’re actually supp to squat down on your shins and just use the “seat” as a rest for your butt. To keep you low and stable in a canoe
You can claim those two mascots have whatever names you want them to have, but I bet that at least 50% of people will still call them Brent and Casey...
I just looked and all of the Ork Boyz are still 25, and almost all of the Eldar stuff still is too. I'm not sure why, 28 is much better, and 32 even better than that. But the GW website still says it so I did it. If (and probably when) it changes it will be an easy swap since I am pinning one foot with only a little super glue on the pin, they should come off pretty easily if need be.
This has got to be the highest scoring Paint Bravely for pauses to look up other things (or be distracted). I love it!

The best metal models that you can buy are from Oathsworn Miniatures. They are the ones who make Burrows and Badgers!
Also Brent. Legion is so fun. Finish those rebels you got hanging around sometime.

I hope there’s a documentary about someone grabbing 7 models from the paint and take hosted by Jonathan Frakes.

Classic Bert!
I didn't know Brent was so into crabs! Is it a Maine thing? Excited for the future of goblin hobbies, whatever it may be called :P
Crabs? Ayuh. Most likely lobstah.
Casey, solidarity with you on the pickle jar! 🥒I get a lot of flack for wiping my brushes dry on an old sock, but I'm not changing. 🧦Don't let the nay-saying get to you!
I also love metal models for some reason. Especially Relicblade models, but I'm drawn to metal when it's an option.
Woo!! More paint bravely from my favourite brave painters
Glad to hear about #crabtimehobbies! I just got to the mostly-done phase of paintingy little gobbo necromancer for Deth Wizards!
Omg I didn’t even THINK about how great lil gobbos would be for Deth Wizards!
Brent, if you upload it, we will consume it!
I hope Brent's mom doesn't hear about how bravely he sampled those mushrooms! 😂
lol!!!
If you like what you said in the long video, can you chop it up into a series to release in parallel with your regular releases for a few weeks?
I started with Roco mini tanks and Napoleonettes... "Hey, you kids, get off my lawn!"
By why metal models? j/k
I love painting metal models, especially older ones. They usually have some character to them.
Stay awesome you two!
I know Casey said no to Crab Time but has he considered it is TIME FOR CRAB?
I just like the weight of metal minis when gaming. Something substantial about them.
agreed.
💯
i just imagine a meme of guy putting on different disguises and showing up to paint more free mini's.
Emph-ASIS, I see you Brent 🙃

That feels very fair, brent took 7, just for the record, again.
@PaintBravelyThePodcast yes, yes he did... I hope he's happy😉

That makes sense!

Space goblins ?
Are they all going to be , space goblins ? :O
They will not all be space goblins :)
I can't believe you picked goblins over Kobolds. Kobolds 4 life :)
We'll always have Kobold Talk :)
Guys, Kobold Hobbies
I’m not sure if you were awar Brent but you’re actually supp to squat down on your shins and just use the “seat” as a rest for your butt. To keep you low and stable in a canoe
I did actually click on the video because of the title. Well done guys haha
My 5 year old walked by just in time to hear the news. He begins telling everyone that I'm watching Crab Time Hobbies.
Brent always struck me as the type to have some violent mushrooms in a fanny pack at a con.
You can claim those two mascots have whatever names you want them to have, but I bet that at least 50% of people will still call them Brent and Casey...
Haha probably
Is not everything gw on 28mm now, is there even 25mm for stuff thats not mines, animals and stuff like that

@@PaintBravelyThePodcast i build the combat patrol for aeldari (the new one) and they where all on 28mm
Buy more Relicblade. Always more Relicblade. No GW in 2024 and beyond, only Sean made products.
#OnlySean
Hey if you painted them you’re in the clear! I once saw a guy take an ogre/hobbit combo mini and DIDN’T paint it *gasp*
wow, what a cool mini too, why wouldn't you want to sit and paint it right there!?
@@PaintBravelyThePodcast haha probs a busy person. So much to paint, so little time! :)
You're leaving money on the table by not going with Crabtime Hobbies
Wait, shouldn't that be Kobold Hobbies? Are Kobolds out of favour now?
It was in the running!
