Gardiner MacDougall ended last years season with UNB on an 8 game win streak, went 43-0 this year with UNB, and then went undefeated with Canada U18. 58-0. Insane
Trevor conelly single handedly lost that game for USA. He knew exactly what he was doing and I bet he’s really feeling sorry for his team paying the price.
absolutely brutal, and its just so embarassing because if he kept his elbow down he wouldn't hit the guy in the head and he wouldn't get a penalty. Just a terrible decision

@@thenarrowgate3063the US dominated the entire game until the 5 minute major, it’s very tough to say Canada would’ve won without the 5 minutes if we’re being honest with ourselves.
@@Whatdoyouwant904 it was 3-2 before the major I would agree that U.S outplayed Canada in the early going but were far from dominating them and had a one goal lead till Beavis and buttheads hit, then you witnessed a DOMINATING PP that showed why Canada is and will always be the G.O.A.T as the best teams always find ways to win even when outplayed, but I will say that U.S has developed their program quite nicely and have been our toughest competitor the last decade.
Carter George, what a goaltending performance, congrats on the gold medal CANADA, well done, well done.
The skill level in hockey just keeps getting better. Insane what these young guys can do now.
That McKenna goal to make it 3-2 reminds me of the 2010 Olympics gold medal goal. Iginla digs it out from pretty much the same spot on the boards and throws it behind him and McKenna goes out front and buries it.

Imagine if Canada played together as a team all year like the US does ... and has done for the past 2 years. Its a tribute to the Canadian game that they can always come together in a short period of time and eventually play as a team... and WIN!

Canada only won because the 1 American player helped them. He did more to help Canada win than many Canadian players did.

It's not often you can really point to a single player or play that cost an entire game, but this is one of those cases for that hit to the head.
Boneheaded hit gave a dangerous team a 5 minute pp in the 3rd...go Canada GOAT
George is a very talented Goalie. Kept them in it long enough to get a break on that major penalty.
USA clobbered them for 50 minutes and lost it with a dumb hit!
Clobbered might be a stretch, it was only a 1 goal difference at that point, but they definitely were playing a better game...

What a game. Gutted for Connelly, young mistake, hard to forget as good as they are they’re just kids out there and they make bad choices from time to time. Carter George was heroic, McKenna is a star. One of the best rivalries in sports is alive and well, we’ll get it back next year at the WJ🇺🇸

Good win for Canada. It did look like the States outplayed them for the most part. That 5 min major hurt them. I am glad Canada got gold again.
