Most people seem to agree that the pouring rain/sizzling meat sound effect is the most unsettling part of the track, and while I do admit that it sounds extremely gross and nauseating, the one part of the track that scares me the most is at 3:18, right before the meat rain begins. You can distinctly hear what sounds like someone singing, and I personally believe that the voice belongs to an Elsen, or multiple Elsens, who are heralding the arrival of whatever is the cause for that disgusting fleshy noise. I just picture a group of Elsens heading home from a long day of work in the smoke mines, stepping out of the train and staring up at the sky. Meat begins to rain down from the heavens, pelting them and leaving trails of red viscera all over their bodies, and they do nothing but sing in contentment. Something about that image is deeply disturbing to me, and I don't know why.
The weirdest part about this song is that I downloaded a map for G-Mod and it was Zone 1, so this music played the whole time I explored it and it was one of the most unsettling things i have ever experienced. It was so empty and barren and lonely that after about 5 minutes of exploring, I had to turn it off.
This is always good to listen to early morning while I wander the school's empty hallways, killing the time before first hour. Atmospheric, and sets the mood just right.
You're literally riding a boat on a giant fucking pool of flesh. Solid, human, flesh. It's going to make a lot of noise, especially if you actually manage to move in it.
Open scene. Grey, cold, rainy city. No one is sight. The pale, fluorescent street lamps are dimly lit and cast a ghostly sheen on the sopping asphalt. No sounds to be heard except the incessant drizzling of the rain. You're walking God knows where and you're lost. Without anyone around, you have no one to guide you. You're cold and the rain is beginning to soak through your clothes. After sticking close to the overhangs of buildings, you find one open shop. A cafe lit with orange bulbs. It smells strongly of wood polish. The seats are moved around and the tables still have debris and wet rings from cups. Yet no one is to be found. A shiver goes down your spine as you walk back out into the bleak and barren city.
At a little over the 2 minute mark theres a siren. I still wonder what this means. It's obvious that it's there for a reason. Perhaps a siren signalling to a nuke that caused the world to be the way it is in OFF as some theories have stated, or perhaps it's a siren to something happy... Because the meat rain returns and someone sings...
