@@ispi_video_photo It took days of preparation and planning to get that F35B off the ship in Portsmouth. They pushed back the dockyard workers a long way before it could take off. The only reason they would leave aircraft on the ship in port is because they can't fly to a shore base.
Great footage there, thank's for sharing. It's impressive watching this lady arrive and leave. Always draws a big crowd in Portsmouth and Gosport and makes it difficult to find a good place to film.

Aircraft carriers never have aircraft o9n board when in home ports (unless its an emergency). I really don't get why people keep banging on about 'no aircraft' when a ship like this has a whole sequence of training serials to work through after a refit and aircraft on board are just not needed.
Did it not occur to you that maybe, just maybe, they would be stored in the hanger deck when not in use? They would only be brought up to the flight deck when they are about to be flown off the carrier.

And when you add in costs there is simply no justification to a country that does not spend $760 Bn a year on defence. The US Congress did a report back in 1998 and in today's money the extra costs per each ship life of nuclear power is $12 Bn (plus decommissioning) above conventional power. Then we get build costs. We built two state of the art carriers for $10 Bn and they both work as designed and have sailed around the world. Saw it yesterday.. its well worth seeing. You feel the engines on your chest
What a fantastic ship! Looks fitting against the Liverpool skyline and the Liver building!
Shame no aircraft on the aircraft carrier though.
Yeah it is, hopefully next time

Iconic Liverpool with the biggest Royal Navy ship ever made.
It doesn't seem like two minutes ago that I had the pleasure of boarding HMS Prince of Wales when she visited Liverpool.
Seen her yesterday absolutely beautiful 😍
The people in L1 tower blocks must have an amazing view
Oh yeah, be great view. Overlooking it
Amazing looking forward to seeing it on Saturday

glad to see the militery mobilising to take down purple aki

Super little video. Looked like perfect filming conditions.
May I please ask if you know what time roughly her crew will cast off on Monday?
i believe its around 9am in the morning with the tide.
Would look a lot more impressive if she had some aircraft but that’s what 30 years of defence cuts does for you!!
Exactly
