I enjoy your presentations, anyway, but now you are into a part of the world that is such a romantic idea for so many, myself included. Thank you again for taking us on your sailing journey.
Thank you for a another year of interesting and very enjoyable videos. I hope you have a very happy Christmas and that 2025 brings you happiness, contentment and fair winds. Thanks
Another good one Kevin. I plan to sail back home to Newfoundland from The Bahamas in 2025. I hope to go thru the Bra Dor lakes on my way home.. Thanks for doing this.,.
I was just up the lake from you in my boat, don't know how you can sleep in that wind it was so crazy. But yes the holding is great for most of the lake from my limited time sailing here.
I was there 3 years ago in my old clinker managed to get a massive Staunr of the left point i showed it to the locals who said it was the biggest they had ever seen !!
Well done navigating the lock; I was wondering how you would manage that. That said, I am imagining you climbing back and forth between the RIB and Ruth Avery nervously in and out of neutral. One day I will get to those lakes by boat. I have visited by car…. I have roots in the Mahone bay. One day I hope to cross paths with you to share our common ground. Until then, all the best of Christmas to you and the fair Ruth Avery!
The first problem I ran into was that it pushed me in circles, but that was a matter of adjusting the angle of the outboard. After that, worked like a charm. Happy holidays, Charlie.
Hmmm...a screaming nor'easter - u don't say? I know I've seen this line somewhere on your channel. I've heard Up a Creek without a Paddle before- but Up a Lock without a motor is sorta new one to me. Always an adventure when one of your notifications pops up on my screen. My first thought is- What has Kevin gotten himself & RA into this time? Entertaining I'll bet. I hope you're warm & relaxed somewhat - cause its cold as hell here. Hang in there partner.
Ha, ha, well I have a paddle but it's not quite up to the job of getting me through that lock. The 15hp Yamaha did the trick. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Holidays.
Yep, Cape Dory 45, the nicest one they made I think. It wasn't bad, the lakes are sheltered, but after seeing that boat break loose I worried about the mooring all night ...
Hi! I have a dream - to sail around the world with my dog and experience life on the open sea. But there's one thing I’m missing - a sailboat. I can’t afford one, but I truly believe that with the right boat, my dog and I could create unforgettable memories, exploring new places together. If you have a yacht you no longer use or need, I’d be forever grateful if you could consider giving it to us. We promise to care for it as our own, and it would mean the world to us. Thank you for reading!

Happy Christmas, its been a year of contrasts. Happy sailing.
Nice sailing ! We were there 2 weeks before you. A great place to be ! Best, Myriam & Gilles
Yes indeed! Happy holidays.

Merry Christmas
Beautiful area, and I hope to visit the Bras D’Or lakes to sometime. 👍🏼
That hard Dodger is the answer!!
Indeed, makes life much more pleasant.
Merry Christmas, Kevin. Looks like an interesting place to visit. Best regards from Jarle

Sounds great! Happy holidays.
make sure you have your bug spray, beautiful place though
Bugs weren't much of a problem, maybe because I was there in the fall. Fair winds and happy holidays!
Good stuff Kevin. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you.
Thanks for stopping by. Merry Christmas to you too.
Try the Gambia River. I think Holmes has got you there. Love your channel though. Have a good holiday.

That’s the lakes! We lost a very sturdy dock one year. So glad you made it this way.
That was quite a severe storm, I can tell you. Glad I was inside on the lakes than outside.

He Kevin are you still in Beaufort , NC . I saw a picture of baby Ruth. Would love to meet you.

Hello Kev,
Looks like you recently departed from Jackson Creek, welcome back to Deltaville. Hope you have safe and blessed Christmas.
I'm still here, anchored just outside so that I can easily depart for the Bahamas tomorrow morning.

Crafty way through the canal. Some nasty winds there. At least sheltered. What kinda wind speeds did you see?
I don't have an anemometer, but it was around 40 knots at times.
What happebed to Mr Tohatsu? Surely you have to have some kind of power!
Gearshift lever frozen, no easy fix.
Resolution is also a beautiful vessel. How was it down below during the storm? Can you still make food or is it uncomfortable?

@@howtosailoceans1423thanks for reply. And with no engine you would be in trouble in a hurry. Alls well that ends well. Thanks for the videos.
What happened to your outboard?
Gear shift froze. Major surgery to repair, so I donated the motor to Long Cove Marina.

If you're willing to put in some work, there are plenty of older fiberglass boats laying up in boatyards which you could have for a song.
New outboards are trash.
Yeah, often costs more to repair them than buying new.
Merry Christmas
