I clocked Sam pregame, I KNEW he was this good!! It was hard choosing between him and Rachel as pregame winner picks (she referenced Dino which speaks my freaking language) but there's just something special about Sam. An absolute dear human being in person! I was so right about him and he would've been absolutely a worthy winner. He speaks so well, SMART, and wise way beyond his years for 24, even though he's got such big kid vibes. Sam can return to Survivor anytime he wants.
he is smarter than people give him credit for! so well rounded as a player and a person. sometimes you just get unlucky and "once the target stamp is on it doesn't wash off" or whatever genevieve said 😂
Loved seeing Sam! Great to hear how strategic he was/is. Wish we got to see more of this on screen but glad we get it here. Hope he returns on Survivor and wins! Or the Traitors!
Great interview! It seems like Sam is a great pre merge player but I think his problem was he didn’t think too far ahead. Like it was smart to vote out Anika but then to not manage Andy at all, especially as Sam said he thought he would be a later problem, shows some weakness with post merge which I think was his problem among other things
Love Sam's energy and sounds like he put in a lot of graft but unfortunately had his work cut out for him. It seems that in the new era it's extra hard for a guy of his type to win especially when Rachel was so insulated. Dam you for helping her Saul hahaha. Seriously though I'm pretty confident we will see him again, what a great player.
One other thing, Sam says he counted the votes in the urn but I’m pretty sure that they remove the votes as someone saw one vote one time. So how would Sam have seen the votes then if they’re removed?
I don't really like to accuse people but he does seem to be a bit of a liar. He lied about his game in FTC, lied about not trying fruits, and has lied about reaching into the voting urn now. I have a hard time trusting this interview.
I have one more thing to add here - S46 finale aired on May 22 but filming for S47 started on May 12, so there’s no possible way he saw Dee win 46 before going out there! I remember Jeff talking about the timing/overlap situation on his On Fire podcast, so it was a surprise for Sam to say he made decisions about his game based on having seen Dee win 🤔 I don’t necessarily think he’s lying on purpose though - he undoubtedly watched as much of 46 that came out before he flew to Fiji so he would have got a sense of Dee etc, so my charitable assumption is that he mis-remembered what happened when after the fact, and it just became woven into the story he’s been telling (to himself and to others) about his own journey since getting back home. Maybe if he sees this comment he’ll take it as a heads up to make that mental clarification on the timeline next time he tells the story 😉
Kyle said that he voted for sam because he knew where all the votes were going and he thought sam deserved to come second. Kyle is a great guy but genius he is not, he knew where the jury was voting because they told him at ponderosa. All the votes were decided at ponderosa before the final tribal. Sam never had a chance.
@@newmariobrothers4617 that ended in the early seasons. They used to assign a person to a jury member that followed them around ponderosa. It ended before Gabon. They can do what ever now. Most jury decisions are made a ponderosa. These ppl have nothing to do but talk game. The game continues ponderosa. They lobby for players to win etc
5:08 oh nooooooo!!!!!!!! I think this goofy image is a thing that carries through the end when choosing a winner. Things like “he hasn’t even tried fruits, why would I give him a million dollars” are thought, not “He hasn’t tried fruit, he won’t be able to win immunity”.
Really smart guy, articulated all his positioning really well- great interview and would love to see him back!
Glad to see a Sam deep dive! Hope he’s on RHAP more in the future

Great interview! Loved hearing more from Sam!
Omg him lying about never trying those fruits before is akin to Liz Wilcox not being a billionaire.
Sam is a brain - we didn’t see enough of it on the show. Really enjoyed this and he also seems so genuine. I’m a fan.
Great interview, so many questions answered, and Sam is a great story teller! Thanks for this

i said this to my group chat during the finale but sam would have been a really great 30's season winner
I always liked sam but this was so impressive. Very articulate and deliberate in his moves. Well done. Played well with the hand he was dealt
Fantastic interview
Feeling prouder and prouder you were my winner pick. Thanks for helping me win my draft. Would've loved to work with Sam. 💖

Didn’t think Sam could make me like him more…i was wrong! 😂 great interview 👍💪
I wanna see Sam on The Traitors

Enjoyed this deep dive! Sam was my pregame winner pick. Happy he made the final. Overall great season!!
He was our fav this year ❤

Sam has to be on second chance 2
Sam's one of my favorite Survivor players ever! I hope they bring him back for the Season 50 All Stars season
Favorite player on 47!
My fave
Sam is great!! And he is an amazing player... i was rooting for him 😊
The glue guy Sam
W❤WW I can listen to this guy ALL day!! 🥰🥰😍🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

@@EmmaVB82 Dee didn't win 46. Kenzie did.
Enjoyed
Sam not actually being truthful about the fruit is hilarious 😂
Sam was my favorite playwright this season
My womner pick!
I want him on season 50
Sam needs to join The Traitors

I mean to be fair, Rachel was on an incredible run between her immunity wins and smart idol play, it makes sense that Kyle would assume she’d win,

Still doesn’t change how spectacular his final tribal council performance was. We at home AND Rachel herself beloved that Sam had a chance.
SAM 4 SURVIVOR 50
I may be late to this- does anyone know what happened to the long form deep dives they used to do?
Unfortunately after the Omar interview (not his fault) CBS cracked down on them instead of addressing the issues raised.
If I remember correctly, I think CBS put a stop to them. Some drama happened a few years ago and I think CBS has said Rob only gets an hour.

He should have revealed at final tribal council that the fruit thing was part of his strategy! Talk about a jaw dropper! 😁😲
Sam for season 50! Great social skillset, self awareness, and strategic chops.
I would’ve voted Sam over Rachel idc
