It's actually appropriate that Makoto does nothing. I've jokingly called him a level 1 god in another video, but if you think about it, doing as little as possible is kinda what gods are supposed to do. If he does too much, the hyumans, being fickle as they are, will rely on him to solve all their problems, doing nothing for themselves; and when Makoto doesn't respond to the hyumans every whim, they'll turn their back on him without a second thought. It's better to let the hyumans solve their own problem as best they can, and only when things get really bad, only then intervein when they beg for help. Makoto is NOT a hero, nor has he ever claimed to be one, the hyumans have heroes that are supposed to be their saviors, it's not Makoto's responsibility. He's trying to fix this messed up world created by the goddess, to bring some semblance of equality to the world instead of playing favorites like the goddess has done.
The goddess is not all knowing or all seeing. She can't see everything Makoto (or anyone) is doing. Makoto even knows this and uses it to try and keep the demiplane hidden from her. They talk about this in season 1, and Makoto has been trying to hide Mio and Tomoe from her as well as she already knows about Shiki.
This is why in season 1 the goddess says "Found you" when she teleports him. She had to literally look for him and only found him when he used a teleport circle (that utelises her power).
You are right in that Makoto is trying to lay low in part to help avoid her detection though as he doesn't want to deal with her atm. Makoto might be strong, but until recently he could only use basic level magic too. That was part of the reason to go to the academy, to learn more skills/magic from their library etc. Because no matter how much raw strength Makoto has, basic level skills/magic is not going to do jackshit against a goddess.
On the topic of Makoto forming a religon of his own? I just dont see Makotos character being remoteoy interested in that anyway. He was hesistent enough to become the leader of the demiplane. No way do i see him wanting to try and get hyumans to worship him. It would be so out of character in my opinion. So i have no idea what the people who want him to so this have been watching to even think of it as a possibility?

It's funny that people would think he's not doing anything when he's been literally directing efforts behind the scenes, literally preparing people for situations like this. It's like complaining that Clark Kent did nothing to help Superman save the world. He's literally hiding his true identity because he's so OP they'll think he's an army of demon kings, while somehow also acting like the army kernel commanding the right people to the right locations without revealing all their full power to literally save people. *And at the same time* he's directing efforts to bring people in the city food and supplies! It isn't like he could snap his fingers and save everyone at once, it would be more likely that he'd destroy everyone by using his powers too soon. And they really need to identify who the mastermind is behind the threat so, staying low and gathering information is the best option. They literally have no idea who is going to turn into a monster or when and no idea about who is really directing the threats to the city so going all out with possibly the strongest character isn't going to help, it will probably create more threats than they can manage at once, doing more harm than good.
People's attention spans have gotten shorter. I personally like the take it slow approach
All the complaints do seem to overlook a lot of the story. He should help people? How about all of the beings living on the Demi-plain, who he's given home and sanctuary to and see him as the 'young master'. The Highland orcs, the forest ogres, the Elder dwarf etc. we have actually seen him rescue. How well has interactions between the Demi-human beings he protects and the Hyumans (or demons) gone in the past?
He should fight the Goddess - why? Don't get me wrong it's going to happen and he hates her no question, but it's not like that's his reason for existence. He's currently trying to find out what happened to his parents and explore the world while living a relatively normal life. He doesn't want to be a God, think how embarrassed he gets by the admiration of the Demi-plain residents. He's not on the side of the Hyumans OR the demons because neither of them are on his side (as we've seen) so why does he have to help them.
He's not a God or a Hero or a Chunni-style villain. He's a good person whose suddenly been given immense powers, an incredibly strong army, but also been told to live a life without causing trouble by an unreachable and (currently) unbeatable enemy (the Goddess), and with two advisors who have wildly different ideas on what to do next. Saying he's out of his depth is putting it mildly.
Tomoe herself did say that he is stronger than Goddess when the incident with the archery practice happened in season 1

Last time he tried to use the goddess power to teleport. But as long as he lay low she can’t do much too.

You are correct. Makoto is mostly hidden from her do to everything he does to conceal/limit his mana plus the time he usually spends in the demiplane which isn't a part of her realm. She also doesn't usually see him as anything significant and thinks of he more as unsightly. As such she doesn't bother looking for him unless she wants thing from him or if he were to do something big enough to grab her attention. The only reason she found him in season 1 was he tried to use the transfer gate and if she wanted to do something to him the power gap is so much that he couldn't really resist should grasp where he is which indicated how the moment she did the first time she instantly plucked him up.

Whew, I was not sure I could watch this due to spoilers but you have talent for telling a story, or perhaps painting a picture without giving away the whole story or giving the full picture lol. When I hear videos like this and how people don't seem to understand nuance, story telling, and seeing things thru the eyes of the characters it really does show how little critical thinking there is taught in schools now a days. We had to actually write short stories in my literature classes and do lengthy book reports, so this all comes natural understanding wise for me.
The school systems are truly failing people, mainly public obviously. Patience is a virtue, and brings understanding, vision, and clarity. The depth of the level of what you are putting your time into things repay the level of rewards in correlation. With some of the comments like you were talking about from people like "I want action now!" Or "I want something done now!" I swear it give me the mental picture of Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka, with Veruca Salt, spoiled little brat running around yelling I want it now! Give it to me now! Makes me laugh and want to Watch 1971's Willy Wonka again.

This is just from watching the anime so take it with a grain of salt. It seems Makoto is both not sure of his place in this world and if he truly belongs there, yes he hates the goddess and her societal order but he wants to see all of society first. He is aware of how powerful he is but unaware of how powerful he is becoming, its with how much power he accumulates the bigger the demiplane becomes as if its becoming an acctual world itself. His view on Demons seem to be solidifying more, he is becoming to see them as a possible threat but useful in the timebeing as he understands his place in the world. If his parents and siblings arrive in the world he could solidify his position but thats a big event if its to happen.

But, honestly, I feel the same way.
He has at multiple occasions explained that he's Not a Hero, but He isnt a villain either. On the contrary, he's the Leader of several races and has to think about their well-being.
What do These people expect to happen If he we're to openly oppose THE reigning Religion and its followers?
Not only the church itself, even the Kingdom and the Empire would be forced to strike him down, even If only not to lose the support they receive.
Just look at how they lost the Battle against that giant demon General from the start of season 2, despite having 2 Heroes on their side the moment they lost the goddesses Blessing. Even with a qualitative superiority in the demiplanes populace, they would either get overrun at some Point or have to hide in the demiplane. Not to mention the possibility of them breaching into it, as low as it is.
I've been happy with the pacing for this season, not sure why some want them to speedrun to the end. The ones complaining might not be a good fit for this particular property.
I love this anime. That's why I can't wait for the second book to be translated. Sadly I can only get it on Kindle but I want physical copies -_-
makoto not trying to be a hero he didn't even want to be a teacher Rembrandt caused that. in my opinion Makoto would prefer to stay in the demi plane the only reason he out and about in the human lands is to find knowledge about his family and maybe a way home without the goddess's help that why he helping the librarian and her sister as they come for the same country as his parents and he will to work with both human nations and demons
i feel like this entire video was made because of me 😂 I just think I would enjoy Makoto going a little more the Overlord route more. But this is my watching preference, Im not trying to challenge the author on his writing or dismiss the development of the story. No need to read too deep into my comments.
She can summon people and give blessings. Beyond mild interference she does not appear to be able to do much. She could have tried to destroy him, but instead she dropped him in the wasteland.
90% of his power is cimbat oriented. Most importantly he is getting stronger. Can he beat her? Probably not. Can he hurt her? Absolutely.
