  • Sky News contributor Prue MacSween lauded Argentina’s President Javier Milei for his handling of the country’s economy.
    “I think the people have woken up,” Ms MacSween said.
    “These woke socialist governments, who really have no ability to manage economies, all they can do is spend.”

    Big government has always been anathema to growth and prosperity. Government prioritises job creation, but ignores profits and thus ignores sustainability. By doing this, governments with too much power will employ thousands of unproductive and irrelevant workers, all of whom have to be piad by government, through your taxes. This raises taxes and leaves you with less to spend. This breaks down the private sector as money dries up and is tied up in government hands. It astonishes me that people can't see this, it is so blatantly obvious. Milei worked it out and chainsawed government down to a more sustainable size. • @messiahshepherd9266
      @messiahshepherd9266 Месяц назад

      @@Spido68_the_spectatorLook into Austrian business cycle theory. The effects of it are we get better in the short run (because, we're all dead in the long run right?) because they stimulate the economy by encouraging spending, be this certain schemes like subsidies- or other programmes like what's been happening now with retirement welfare that was originally to make money for the government top pay off debt, you pay into your state pension with taxes but they don't actually put it in a savings account or invest it on Wall Street (and if they did, that would have a disastrous effect on people's economic incentive structures to reflect real, scarce resources instead of credit because all savings are based on real resources but debt is not, and that's why debt is bad) they use it to pay off debt caused by the pension system (ect...). But every dollar the government spends is a dollar from somewhere else; when you have that issue as a bank creditor you print more money. This affects people's savings and affects us with consumer good price inflation in the long run as the purchasing parity of the currency decreases, but this effects capital goods as well. If the credit expansion isn't due to an increased demand for money that has a relationship to real resources (i.e. savings)- and you can't get them, people get poorer. People live worst lives than they would have with savings. And big government stops this.

      As of 2024, Peter Dutton’s estimated net worth sits at around $300 million. Much of this wealth comes from his long-standing political career, as well as smart investments in property and businesses. Dutton has been known to have a keen interest in real estate, and reports suggest he owns multiple properties across Queensland.
      While not as flashy or publicized as some other political figures, Dutton’s financial standing reflects a mix of careful planning and years of service in public office
