As Sweet Sugarbelle would say that's using your "cookie think!" Sugarbelle always uses cookie cutters for other cookies besides what the cookie cutter was created for. You used an existing gingerbread house kit and redesigned it. Brilliant! What a great idea - decorating with royal icing and not purchasing all that candy and wasting it!!

To get your icing that red are you using a whole lot of food coloring? My Wilton red looks orange unless I use an extreme amount. Is there another product that gets the red without using using so much?
There are many different brands of food colour but you won't find them at a craft store. You can order online or find a local cake supply store. I prefer Amercolor brand Super Red. You will still need a lot of food colour to get a dark red, though.

How did you make the roof design……before the dots.
I created a stencil and drew it on with an edible marker.
About how many hours or days to do this??? Just beautiful!!!
