I think it is because we want to know if the characters get on in real life. This is because the show is likely to survive if the cast gets on. There is no point in investing in a show only for the show to be canceled because the cast does not get on. Lethal weapon the series comes to mind, other shows include Sex and the city, Charmed, X-files, etc.
