And this is why you don't take back a cheater because you may forgive but you won't ever forget. He messed up his life, his sons and his relationship with his daughter.
Sorry but, not only not being with your child on their 18th birthday, but also not allowing them to either go out with friends or have friends over. How do you even consider this is a good way to treat your child?
"You're different than me, so I found it easier to keep you at arms length." The heck is that? Sounds like something you'd say to a classmate or neighbor, not your own kid. Last I knew, it's normal to step out of your comfort zone in order to connect with your kids. Or am I wrong in thinking that?
Yeah, exactly. That's absolutely no excuse for not connecting with his child. That's actually sh*t and kinda narcissistic, "I don't care to spend time with my children unless they're exactly like me". That's insane. It's like he didn't consider that his children could get their personality from his wife instead of him.
Exactly. $$ speak wonders. They'll grovel as much as they can. He only wanted to reconnect and improve the relationship because of the money. Yes it was a terrible situation with the cheating and honestly for the Mum and Dad to stay together I think is quite rare but the Dad decided to stay. Unfortunately even though OP was confirmed to be his child the betrayal of his wife was always present with OP about.
So I’m still listening but I paused because my prediction is that the dad got cut off and the grandfathers only going to give money again if the son forgives him.
I'm so sorry to say that the only reason your dad wants to pretend he's a good father to you is your Grandfather threatened him. That's why Gpa didn't want you to hear them talking. No doubt it had something to do with he & your brother not getting any inheritance. Your dad made you stay home & wouldn't let you have friends over cause he didn't want anyone else to know that he cancelled your Birthday & abandoned you for your brother. Stay strong & concentrate on building your future. Good luck
When I turned 18, my parents and sister went out of town for a Girl Scout event for the weekend. They said I could have a party. I did. Over 400 kids showed up for it! I went to a large high school. Over 600 kids just in my grade level. It was great. The house was not trashed. I had bouncers. They made sure the kids only used the bathroom. About 1 am, “somebody” let it be known that the police were called. Neighbors were notified ahead of time. One neighbor was a cop. He had friends working to come by with lights on at the pre-determined time for me. Only a few friends stayed to help clean up later. This was early 80s and drinking age was 18.
Sorry but how big is/was your home? Most peoples homes would be unable to have a party of 30 people much less than 400. Its is because of this that I personally consider your comment to be a work of fiction.
Es una pena que tu cumpleaños haya sido afectado de esa manera. Todos merecen sentirse especiales en su día. Espero que puedas encontrar una forma de celebrarlo como te mereces.
Your mom wasn’t there to protect you for. His anger so he could get away with it grandfather shouldn’t leave him anything at all he deserves the consequences of his actions
The inheritance bit does not make sense as your grandfather was your father's FIL and not father OP and his brother would only inherite from the grandfather The father was stupid for taking back the wife following her affair Resentment and non-bondingcan stay forever
The grandad wrote the dad into the will along with the grandkids. He’s not his biological child but if he has no other kids, it’s not abnormal to leave something for his son in law
People like OP's dad only want to say sorry & make things right because they think that that's what the person who they treated badly, wants. OP's dad is sorry about the inheritance for him & his son who he pays attention to.
Where is the film in the background taken? When I was young and lived in Peru it was a great custom in February to have water fights. But I was told a president years ago outlawed it. Would love to know where this video takes place.
This film looks like Thailand. I saw some Thai writing, although probably a Chinese section of one of the cities. Also, people throwing water on each other is a tradition for the Thai New Year, Songkran, April 13th. This film might be Bangkok, although throwing water is supposed to be illegal in Bangkok.
@@bartmansd71 It's a little difficult because the images are reversed, but about half way through a large building has a sign "Pattaya" outside, and that's a popular holiday destination in Thailand. I imagine they would allow a festival like that there, considering what else they tolerate.
Thanks! I was a child 7 to 12 when I lived in Peru. It was my favorite all time custom of anywhere I lived. Great fun for the kids though I remember my parents hated it.
@@paulahowlett8452 Seriously? She had an affair and then told her husband that all three would end up raising the child. While the OP's father and brother are AH's, the mother is the biggest one in this story. He should have absolutely chosen therapy to get over the betrayal. It's pretty clear that OP's existence is a walking reminder of his wife's affair.
Good grief you dragged this damn story out:: Turning 18, I'd not give a shit what dad said.. Id go out and spend time with friends.. Who cares what he thinks.. Why does dad think he can walk around treating brother like gold, and you as a hostage.. Its not your fault your mom cheated; and your still his child.. Now hes boohooing because he will lose his FILs inheritance..
And this is why you don't take back a cheater because you may forgive but you won't ever forget. He messed up his life, his sons and his relationship with his daughter.
This brother is a real piece of work .
So is the Dad
Like father like son.
Sorry but, not only not being with your child on their 18th birthday, but also not allowing them to either go out with friends or have friends over. How do you even consider this is a good way to treat your child?
Fairly certain the father has two sons
What daughter?
Have listened again, nothing about whether is a son or daughter and fact it is a male talking means nothing. Have adapted above.

Agreed!
Once you turn 18, leave and go no contact! Dont look back!
That's the problem. She turned 18, and had plans to go out with her pals THAT weekend, and the brother knew it.
He threatened to take her college money
Hes genuinely upset about losing the Inheritance.

You’re 18 and a adult. Screw him.
Exactly. He does not need Daddy's permission to leave the house.
well not literally!
He threatened ops college funds if anything happened
Why the heck does he need to be distracted from people saying Happ birthday to you? What a TW

Love the background... Water Day in Bangkok, Thailand.. Same as Flag Day here in the US.. Story was good as well..
Why does someone have to stay home and watch the house? What happens when dad is at work and the kids are at school, Isn't the house emptythen?

Don't stay with cheaters
What a rotten dad !!! That younger sibling is evil 👿
Thank you so much for uploading another vid, pls upload more
Wait I thought Dad's parents were dead how would Dad get Grandpa's inheritance
OMG I've heard this story b4 but it was a female and her grandmother & Uncle came to help her.

Why bother with those 2 aholes? Stay away and don't look backwards.
OMG, the mother set the son and husband up for failure..

Did you list to the whole thing?
I'm not cutting the dead wife slack for cheating, but given this guy's actions, I certainly see WHY she did!!
How many more times are you going to say “my mom passed away”
What is the event in the video? I dont mean the story, i mean that water splashing feszival in the streests 😂
New years in Thailand
@hootsaidtheowl thanks, now I know where I have to go this year.. ppl look genuinely happy there 😅
What holiday were the people in the video celebrating? Super Soaker Day?
In Thailand they have a water festival-my sil is from Thailand. This happens sometime in April for several days. They toss water on each other.
So it's yo mommas fault she was a 304 😂😂
Weird. I thought OP was the younger child.
Ur 18 ur legal age an adult

Annoying beeping noise
wishful thinking.
Who would’ve thought. The mom sucks
The mom cheating sucks I agree. But op is his bio child. So why take his shit out on her. He forgave his wife, so why neglect his own child
@ I agree 100% it just was a surprise
