I love doing the mock drafts... And I appreciate you guys' enthusiasm as well.
What happens if the Bears are presented with a player at number 10 that they weren't expecting to be there? For whatever reason... Maybe Abdul Carter's misdemeanor assault charge would sway some GM's, or his size?
Mock Drafts is what we do... So let's have some fun with this one and take some players that might not be there by my estimation, but you never really do know, right?
Breaking down this offseason and what it would make this team look like in the end with taking moves Ryan Poles would do into account.
This version we're going to hit some home runs in free agency as well...

Character concerns are why Jalen Carter dropped and the Bears passed on him. So, those things do happen. If either Mason Graham or Abdul Carter somehow dropped to 10, I'd be ecstatic otherwise, I'm more in favor of the Bears trading down to the 15 to 21 pick range for additional day 2 capital.....assuming the Bears could find a trading partner..
Top 11 have a much higher chance to become something (pro bowl etc) than 12-and further do. Gotta just stick in there and get a blue chip player, odds and stats show it

Loyal watcher, love your takes. This is the first time I've noticed a factual mistake: Rutgers is in the Big Ten, finished middle of the pack, went to a bowl game, most consider the Big Ten the strongest conference this year, so Hollin Pierce looks even stronger given this background.
Yeah, I don't know why I had them in the ACC, something I should've fact checked. That was a casual in the moment comment I didn't research, but genuinely didn't remember Rutgers in the Big 10.

Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen hired , I’m encouraged , and it’s great they can call focus on post season college scouting for senior bowl, East/ west, combine…perfect! I think due to the record this past season, Ian Cunningham will stay (a prospective team is more likely to want to hire from a winning program! Likely next year we will be just that)

Cam Skattebo with Ben Johnson running the show? Sign me up! Also, the book on Poles when it comes to drafting players is he likes players with length. One of the reasons cited for his trade up to get Austin Booker was because of his long arms.

Do a video on the Bears trading down into the 15 - 19 pick range. I think the draft is deep and picking up additional draft capital will allow the Bears to fill more holes with higher quality players. IMHO. 🐻🔽
i really hope we get keenan back. caleb loves playing with him and having all the talent for johnson to play with is really enticing to me and i would be willing to pay for a safe keenan than joshua palmer

Nice Take. Trey Smith is staying with Chiefs. You can't cut Bates we lost a asset to acquire him. He can play when healthy. We can put all injuries in a vacum.
I think Keenan Allen likes playing with Caleb and helps coach him up.And I think Caleb Williams likes playing with Keenan Allen.Therefore I believe that keenan allen would take a team friendly deal

What’s your take on just drafting James pierce at 10, for me he’s a clear edge 2 in the class and seems a lot more likely than waiting for Carter to fall to ten. Love the vids man!

I lean taking oline help in round 1 but if carter is there u cant pass him up. Would immediatelly change the defense. As long as we get big boys on both lines on like 4 of our picks ill be happy. Rb in the first round is a cherry on top pick that a chiefs or lions can make when u have a stacked roster. Problem is we are missing the ice cream and banana of this sundae. Foundational pieces that make everything work. We arent in a place to make that pick.

EDGE, at 46 Donovan Jackson OG, at Kenneth Grant DT. The best teams are built inside out. I am totally onboard with re-signing Teven Jenkins and Coleman Shelton.

Each wanted to head coach their specialty and let the other coaches do their thing. Their teams were groups of three but not one. Pete and MCCarthy yes. Monken probably. BJ much less experience.
If you could pull this off-season scenario off, the Bears would win 12+ games next year. That's how good it is.

Abdul Carter is in everybody’s top five draft board. I haven’t seen them fall anywhere close to 10. I don’t think one misdemeanor is going to take away from how ferocious that man is on the field. Being a Notre Dame fan I saw that first hand.

Adam just curious as to how you became a Chicago Bears fan being from Utah and living in Vegas. I ask because people have been giving Barstool Big Cat shit for being from Massachusetts “secretly” while being a Bears fan. Idc where a guy is from, we can root for whoever we want. I am from the Southside of Chicago, I am Bears fan and Ohio State Buckeyes fan since I was a kid. I became a fan of college football when Reggie Bush won the heisman. And around that time is when I first saw the Buckeyes play. I have been a fan of them ever since the day.
They're giving Big Cat crap for lying about it. He was a fan of Boston sports growing up and switched and he said he was always a Chicago fan.
(I don't care either way, that's just why people are calling him a fraud)
Where I grew up in the 80's & 90's on the farm, national TV was different. The big two were WGN and TBS. We gravitated to the Cubs and I played 2B because of Ryan Sandberg. My brother is 7 years older and was old enough to remember the 85 Bears and he's my idol, so we both got into the Cubs and Bears hard. Been die hard fans our whole life (unfortunately... Other than 2016 Cubs)
I'm a Utah Jazz fan so I can't even claim I enjoyed the Bills Championships, and I'm a Vegas Golden Knights Hockey fan. Big sports fan all around, but biggest focus on Da Bears, which is why I started this podcast

I would rather trade more of our later picks to move up for quality over quantity. We are not in a developmental situation yet and need quality now. Trade our later picks to move up like you did in the 3rd. Instead of ending up with 3 or 4 starters/rotational players and 2 hopefuls and 6 projects, go for 4 to 6 starters/rotational players and 1 project. With your free agent signings and our resignings you need a starting/developing center, a guard, a DT, an edge. You also then need a swing tackle, a safety and a RB of fairly high quality. We have projects and developmental people already. I would resign Pryor over keeping Bates. To me a test for Poles is admitting when a thought like Bates doesn't work out and moving on.

@@Beardownsports I do think that a Monken or Johnson or McCarthy or even Brady would push out the dead wood though. Poles has been coveting his free losing seasons and polishing his number of picks and cap space like it’s a badge of achievement when it’s just the result of losing bad and picking backups. He has to start hitting on these big picks in a Nationally recognized way. Not just on draft day but one or two years into a career. He has a lot of climbing to do. Except for Caleb, his big pics have all missed games (some lots) and had ups and downs. Nobody has proved to be a difference maker except Brisker and he’s spent a lot of time unavailable. His big 2 the year of His number 1 OT are one ‘pretty good’ and one ‘pretty bust’ plus his RB choices have been a failure, along with Eberflus CB gem from Florida..of Hail Mary fame …the point is, we can’t keep spreading these pieces around with excuses and call it a rebuild NFL contender. It’s the kind of messes that rookie GM’s make.

No way Abdul Carter falls to us at 10. Skattebo would be awesome for the Bears but at 100 is a stretch. We need Oline especially if Ben Johnson is our HC. The Lions built their Oline first and Johnson will want the same thing. Look at the league and the best head coaches build the Oline. Lions, Chargers, etc. Championships have the same equation. Run the ball, play action passing, stop the run and sack the QB. All of that starts up front.

This seems more like a "dream" draft than a "what if" mock draft. Though, I'm not as big a Cam Skattebo fan as you are. He's way too slow and won't be as effective in the NFL with better tackling. So, there are a number of other RB's worth taking later. So, with the Skattebo pick that's where Wilson is more realistically selected. Than with that pick you used on Wilson, the RB selected is either DJ Giddens or Devin Neal.
Only other comment on this video, would be to resign Matt Pryor and cut Ryan Bates. This particular scenario you've done many times before.
Look at how Matt Pryor did next to Darnell Wright and how he did without Wright.

@Beardownsports He walked off the field during a live play. His attitude really wasn't good all year. DJ is a good player but I personally believe most of issues were because his buddy was gone which is absolutely ridiculous. His yardage was down because he didn't break as many tackles and the blocking was suspect. Regardless, you don't walk off the field in the middle of a play!
