Please play this song responsibly. I played this for the first time and immediately storm clouds started gathering. I’ve played it twice today and now it’s pouring suddenly.
so smooth, the power practically leaps into the song several of my best chants i have stolen from you Leslie thanks a million, me and some of my friends even retrofitted web of light i cant remember if that was yours or not but if it wasnt it should have been....anyway thank u kindly
Amon Amarth would do a totally kick-ass death metal cover of this, just imagine Johann Hegg putting some fire in those vocals with some double-bass drums thundering and distorted guitars galloping in tandem!
@Leslie Fish It's an amazing chant, I came across your song years ago and I am still enchanted with it. It was obvious to me since the beginning that the chant is a serious thing, more for rituals than for fun. Besides, it became very important nowadays, in the years of the drought that kills greenery. Fortunately, this year Gods are good for Northern Poland; two years back, though, the drought was so severe (burning weather for 3 or 4 weeks, "African heat" in the part of hemisphere that is usually much cooler) that we decided to ask our Gods (I follow the Slavic Native Faith, which is similar to Nordic in many ways) Perun and His consort Mokosh for rain and thanked and blessed Them for bringing it. So I understand you completely. Kind Greetings and Many Thanks for the great chant!
@Leslie Fish a few years ago, all right more than a few, I got a CD of chants from the witchcraft museum at Boscastle in the UK this one was not on it but it would have fit beautifully and made it a better collection.
Really need to go easy on the font changes. Pick something easily readable and go with it. Maybe some storm imagery in the background. Otherwise, well, even though I'm more of a Taranis kinda guy, I love this song!
Odin and Thor predate Christianity in the Germanic and Gallic tribes by several hundred years, if not over a thousand. They were worshipped all over continental Europe (the Gaels and Britons had different names, if not different gods (Taran was the name of their thunder god)). The vast majority of the worshippers of the "Nordic" Gods lived in what came to be called the Western Roman Empire. And since Rome and its environs were "The World..." Well, I'll let you figure it out from there.
Personally I like the song, and have heard it before seeing it here. But you really hurt the overall presentation here by switching between so many different types of font size, type and color. Pick one and stick to it.
She's not singing about a comic book character. She's singing of the actual Germanic/Norse God of Thunder. That part of Europe is considered part of the western world.
Presumably the other parts of the world have their own rain spirits. Pagan religions tend to be culturally or regionally specific rather than intended to be universal.

playing this during a thunderstorm. :)
Thanks so much for uploading this I've been looking for it for a while and now my search is complete
The actual title of this song (in Leslie's Book) is "White Man's Rain Chant".
Where might I find this book?
Yep it does, and definitely calls lightning as well. Some of us are forbidden to sing this if there are clouds around.

This is the song that got me crowned a reality warper. I sing this, next day it rains.

There was a thunderstorm with tornado warnings this evening. I started playing this in tribute.
Brings back many memories of some of the best times of my life. Cat/George

***** It won't last, "Thor" will be around for atleast a month and then the real Thor will get Mjolnir back
CammyWho10
More like 6 months. Things alwayse reset in the end. Except retcons and new origins.
CarpeMetus And sometimes, them too.
***** it was a joke...
Loki's least favorite song ;)
Why? They were friends with Thor, drank a lot of mead and travelled a lot together. Loki is a specific character, yet he found an ally in Thor.
Northern world really...
I have the original German of this...
jaxxom87 where?
There is no German original. This is the original version
Why just the western world?
