    @jb reviews Ford is shipping some trucks with blank badges with a IOU for a later date. It makes a 100k truck look tainted lol

    I have that same truck. I've put over 12k miles on it all ready. So far so good but time will tell. Mines 19,500 gvwr service truck. It turns much tighter than I expected.

      Yeah the 450-550 have the wide track front axle. I used to have a 450, I love how sharp it turns.

    If I was going for a Ford F450.
    I would order a F450 pickup and then convert it to a Flat bed.
    That way I can get the HO 6.7.
    If I order Chassis F450 you get 350 HP 6.7.

      There is so much power from any engine before it compromises the dependability, reliability, and durability. Juicing 1,200 pounds of torque from a 6.7 is insane. All the fleet trucks used by utility companies carrying cherry pickers, outriggers, and thousands of pounds of equipment and tools use a de-tuned 6.7, but warranty it for 200,000 miles. A de tuned engine will do anything you need and last longer.

      I’ve got an f250 XL and it’s not bad with the right packages. It’s got STX package, fx4 off road, 4x4, clearance lights, power equipment, cloth seats vinyl floors. Yes it’s a base f250 but it’s not city works like you say lol. It’s sharp. At the end of the day it’s a work truck and It’s perfect for what we’re doing

    2 things bud, duel wheels work great in snow, have you ever seen a tow truck with singles . I drove 2 wheel drive dual tire tow trucks for 10 years in summit county, Colorado. 2nd, and I’m not betting up on you. I really like your videos. I look forward to each one. But I have to let you know that what the OEM’S are selling as max tow with the gear ratio is a complete joke and it’s just marketing on their part. Not real. There are only a few teeth difference on the ring gear between 4.30 & 4.88. Certainly not even close to the amount of tow rating difference that they claim. Just ask a ring a pinion guy. My Ram 5500 had 4.44 and claimed 17,000 tow and a Ram 4500 with 4.88 claimed 37,000 tow. Complete and utter BS….

    • @philliphols
      @philliphols Год назад +1

      For one, your 17k to 30whateverK tow rating differences can’t be real. No way you aren’t just dead wrong on those claims. Also forget counting pinion gears and teeth, you dont even need to go there. Do you know the read end ratios mean? There is no way it doesn’t make a good bit of difference to applied torque at a given speed/rpm.

    Those trucks have no chips are missed by badge numbers due to shortages that’s why they’re not for sale. If they were all sold then why would they still be that big lot? 👍

      If you hear it lower in the rear, it probably won’t feel that noticeable on grades 👍🏾

      Still stronger than the comparable 5500 ram. I switched from a power stroke to a ram/Cummins and it’s weak compared to the fleet power stroke and fuel mileage sucks. 15-16mpg powerstroke and 10-11mpg Cummins. Both are service trucks weighing 13-15k with tools and crane.

    • @tumbleweedking5668
      @tumbleweedking5668 Год назад +2

      @MattB the Diesel Tech Agreed I had ram 5500s for several years working for a utility company. With Altec boom and rigged with tools and material they would barely get out of their own way. Fan was always locked up which made it worse trying to keep it cool.

      @@tumbleweedking5668 can’t wait to order a new f450 or 550. And get rid of this palfinger bed and get another knapide. Tired of this Cummins with no balls and my tools get wet and rusting. My old knapide never leaked one bit.

    Do any of the manufacturers offer a super single rear in place of tandem rears?

    • @brianb-p6586
      @brianb-p6586 11 месяцев назад

      They're dual rear wheels - "tandem" would mean one in front of the other, and on trucks refers to two axles, not two wheels and tires on each end of the same axle.
      No truck manufacturer offers wide single tires in place of dual rear wheels on light or medium-duty trucks in North America.
