I could totally see a family in the 90s dealing with this. They'd have a sticky note on their computer that their tech savvy friend wrote for them and all throughout may, they'd have to re-enter their CMOS info, and it'd just become a common thing for them.

No one seems to have said this yet, But the virus says "Clearing hate". I think it's referring to either the screen filling, Or the drive resetting.
I find it interesting, but.... Why do a lot of DOS viruses activate in May? Is it just a coincidence or does it have some sort of significance?

hanzimaster if it's a PS/2 keyboard, then it may not be hot-pluggable... Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

well, current operating systems are gigabytes of memory, meanwhile ms-dos is just 6-8 megabytes.
Combine that with other random crap that has to load on startup/boot and you get a boot time longer than ms-dos.
DOS might be primitive, but you can't deny it's fast
Try making less programs boot with the pc. Things like Skype and discord etc. Set them selves to do this and too many programs can really slow down startup
Back then, programs didn't take up so much disk space and RAM, so for the most part slow boot up time wasn't a problem...then again I am a zoomer going off of what I know about computers.

if a computer today made these sounds you would know its broken because china but back then you listen to the thing tell you if its working properly or if it needs attention and made sure you heard and saw everything and didnt have the government watching you

The seek test scared the crap out of me the first time I watched this video.
If I ever made a virus, I would create it so it first puts itself in the startup program list, then makes a backup of every file on the system from directories such as downloads, desktop, pictures, and then at some point delete all of the originals. Then it would make a popup saying: "All files successfully deleted" and shut down the computer. On startup, it would put the copies back where the originals were and then delete all traces of itself.
And what happens if the hard drive doesn't have enough space to hold duplicate copies of all those files?
That looks like a pretty "cool" virus. Good job, as always!

Whatever that sound was at 1:19, someone needs to make a non-destructive virus that plays the first 12 notes (the first part) of the Mettaton battle theme. Whatever the sound was, it already sounds like it could be capable of mimicking it perfectly.
It's called a seek test, and Undertale really isn't that good.

Harlan Ellison fanatic here, probably not, but then again, anything related to computers screaming hate tends to be. XD None of the hate speeches except the least known and longest version (radio drama) scream hate repeatedly like this with a word attached, and at that, all of the speeches have so much more than hate behind them. If you know what Klaeren Haß means (I'm tired and all I can thing of is erklaren as in to explain or make clear, and of course hate), I could probably help more. If you have any questions about I Have no Mouth, and I Must Scream or any other Ellison stories, I'll happily explain. There aren't many people to talk to when it comes to anything he has written, it's pretty lonely.

UEFI Linux bricked some Samsung laptops because they wrote too much to the CMOS/whatever memory, so the computer wouldn't boot at all.
