Just redid my coolant last night came out like johns dark dark red with sand in it really bad...just bought the machine from someone didn’t even want to run it hard until all fluids changed...great video
is it the same procedure for a 2006 grizzly 660, and will the mach bleed itself without cracking the bleed screws on the water pump and thermostate, at this time i am not sure i even have those bleed screws
Good video but read your owners manual for exact bleeding procedure & coolant capacity. The link has you buying only one qt. of coolant when almost 2.5 qts. is needed. 2008 700 Grizzly
coolant is always so neglected, it takes a decent amount of time for it to cause an issue, then when it does no one ever thinks its from lack of maintenance
I have a 2002 grizzly 660 with 2194 miles on it that I bought new still has the original tires on it they are about half tread and I’ve never changed the antifreeze
HI John. Fantastic video on the Grizzly. Im over in England and have a Yamaha Grizzly 550 2011 model. Not many good quad bike repair places over hear. I am going to change my coolant and its looking good, so hopefully no need to flush. One question though, will I need to bleed the cyclinder head? Didnt see you do it on your 700cc one in the video but my handbook suggests I might. Trust your advice. Regards Adam
Nice video. What does it mean when the coolant level in the rad doesn’t drop after you re-fill and run the bike to temperature? I just changed the coolant on my Suzuki Vinson 500 and after topping off the rad and warming the engine with the cap off, the level does not drop.
These videos by John are always the best. Best service tutorials for the Grizz on RUclips, absolutely.
Highly useful, Quality videos professionally done without wasted gunge music and character antics. Huge thanks!

Best videos on my Yamaha, ever! Thank you.
What if the thermostat won't bleed? I have the screw out, the system topped off, but nothing comes out the bleeder valve!
I like the Honda Trail 90 behind you.
Pity your in the US John. Thank for your videos tho man, they help me keep training my 55 sled dogs in Lapland. Xxx
Did you often overheat before changing it?
Awesome video ! Just picked up one of these used and fluid came out brown just like this

Genuinely perfect videos.
Thanks John. Old video I know, but will the steps be the same for a 700 Rhino?
My exact question - my Rhino 700 is overdue for coolant change service
Thanks for the vids, John!

Good video. Thx 👍
I love partzilla
Thanks a lot
How much coolant you need? Would any good automotive coolant work? Example GM's Dexcool - it is made for aluminum engines. thanks
You can use automotive coolant. 2.1qts on the Grizzly.
Partzilla i have some Left over Honda Genuine Type 2 Engine coolant will that be ok for my Kodiak.
@@nighthawkj30A4 yes, that's what I am using
