seems like a cool guy with a lot of perseverance - well done - i truly respect those that lean toward a bit of non-conformity
I work in the area on occasion and have visited there. Most of the time finding the gate locked. The last time I was there a fellow who was mowing the lawn allowed me to gaze into the silo. Very impressive to see the cylinders in place and operating again. I stopped at Fitz's several years back and he, who just happened to be there, took me on a tour of his location in Champlain. I've been to see all but one or two of the remaining silos over the years. I would love to see yours someday. Great work saving the history.
I first heard of silo "renovation" while in high school, around 35 years ago. I was enthralled! I had/have an interest in architecture and I love industrial designs. To see what you've done is a treat. Though I'm not typical, even a woman can appreciate what you've done. (I'm a heavy equipment operator.) Bravo! or an expression I learned while living in England: It's all tickety-boo!
I imagine him bringing his date home... poor girl. I'd be so freaked out. 😂
Seems to be the perfect Place to hide out when Skynet takes over.
+Dillzone LP lol
Missile Silo Home I WANT ONE
Well this is amazing! Rick Grimes would be proud.
Awesome job not only does this help maintain a piece of history but provides a secure retreat man cave from a disaster and security
Absolutely Amazing!!
that is a lot of work; but looks like it paid off.
Have you reconditioned the original communications equipment? HF and VHF? Interestingly enough, the same frequencies and encryption systems are still in use - but only if the Satcom systems are lost. I am interested because I am a Ham Radio operator and a member of the Navy Marine Corps MARS system.
My dream home
Totally AMAZING space ........ and re-purposed very well, I might add .... :)
Extremely cool! I'm envious. I'd love to live in a silo.
He's done a get job well done and thank you for the video.
Gunna start digg'n......loves it!
I'm amazed how much of the equipment was left in there.
Very cool.
awesome man!
This guy could have a job as a consultant for people converting missile silo and complexes if the “Artist job” doesn’t work out 😉
I have been wanting to buy a solo but worry it is overwhelming ....I would love to come look around if u would allow me to.
I would like to take this & make a home.
I'd ensure all exterior blast entry exit doors were super secure so not just any Tom dick or Harry could walse right in
He is like batman
I wish I had one of those of course id change it to more my style ( but id still keep a lot of stuff like he did ) and I would set up like a larp type thing have a monitor of a rocket launch and thing like that even the two key system I put a code system in it as well but it would not change daily more like yearly
How is he done the waterproofing
Cool
Is it an Atlas F silo?
YES.
Where in upstate New York is this?
Lewis, N.Y.
How do you clean that
These older pre minuteman sites were really a bit overdone. Lots of wasted space.
He's done an OK job, but where's the missile?
Why do you think the Gov would leave the missile there ?? LOL !
That this was ever built in the first place is sad. However, now that it has at least been re-purposed, is positive. Enjoy your underground house.
Nice, but... Soviets still have coordinates...
i thought the milatery owns all the silos
Buuuuuuut... What happened to the missile?😒
