It’s crazy , I asked left and right for help on how to start tint and everyone that knew me was either busy or dint really want to show me , than comes a random guy on RUclips just wanting to teach you how to tint , life’s a trip
People are gatekeeping like crazy man. I can relate to your comment and its a damn shame that some random guy on RUclips helped us out more than those around us. My buddy who has his own window tinting thing going on won't even tell me how.
I just wanted to thank you for this video. There’s so much info out there and no one really gives you a straightforward answer as to what you need. I’m just now starting out (on my maybe 12th-15th tint job). This video I would label as essential to all tinters just starting out cuz I still don’t have all these tools cuz I’ve been buying pointless tools due to lack of information. Thanks again man, much appreciated
I want to say thank you for all the knowledge. You made this a very educational video that I took so much from. God bless and hope your having a great 2024
I got my windows tinted today. Three windows ceramic tint 330. Ppl coming in every ten min asking for tint. Standard like 150-289ish. I’m like shit. So now I’m here lol
I started detailing about a year ago. Someone asked if I could tint and I told them I could certainly try, luckily it was a friend. I had to redo the windows like 3-4 times, but I learned so much in just a couple days. Get fast and clean installs and you’ll make some good money
@@catking4639 I don’t do mobile tinting unless they’re paying extra and have a air conditioned space for me to work. Tint is in high demand as I’m in AZ so people come to my house for tint lol
How well do costco micro fibers do, recommended? Looking to start a 2nd company I can offer with my transportation service. I like to work with my hands.
I’ve seen quite a few videos where guys will have a setup on their wall with glass to lay the tint down and make the trim cuts.. how big of a work area would you recommend for this?
I have 2. One on each side. Peel boards. They're great. Mine are 4 feet tall by 6 feet wide. I'd recommend that size. But in a pinch, an old storm door or large window will get you going too. Lot's of options.
Hey Man, hope your doing well. So I’m starting to buy my material to start my own business .But for a moment I want to start with two types of tint. Which one would you recommend i reside in the state of California. I was thinking of doing 5 and 20%. I will appreciate if you can guide me to start off. Thank you!
The purple tool is a rubber squeegee. Is used to push water that is under the PPF so it can stick to the car. PPF is Paint Protection Film. This is used to protect the paint on the vehicle from rocks, scratches. It can be for hoods, bumpers, side fenders, doors, also door cups (to protect the paint behind the door handles from scratches that can be cause by nails or rings.)
Hey are you still using bounce dryer sheets? I heard they changed the formula and was told to use Snuggles but they don’t last as long as the Bounce sheets did. I usually end up using a new one each car, not a big deal, just thought I’d ask.
Hello I'm currently looking to start a tinting business out of my garage for side/weekend work. My current plan is to get 40" rolls and I can't really find anything on which % to start out with. Should I order rolls as I get customers or stock more popular % first and order as needed. Anyone with this experience have any advice?
Get 5%, 20%, 35% and if you have people requesting full windshields then you’ll want to have 70% ceramic available or 50% depending what people want in your area. If you sign up for their dealer portal with Hitek there are good deals when buying a 4 pack of 40” rolls. 40” rolls aren’t necessary, but if you’re good at saving your scraps and cut smart then you won’t waste much. 40” definitely required for back or front windshield.
Also you’ll want to get a lot of practice in on your own vehicle or family/friends vehicles. The tint will pay for itself once you do a few cars, but it’s ok to charge cheap in the beginning and slowly increase price as time goes.

hi!! two quick questions : what was the purple tool that you used for the larger side gaskets called , and what is “ppf”?
The purple tool is a rubber squeegee. Is used to push water that is under the PPF so it can stick to the car. PPF is Paint Protection Film. This is used to protect the paint on the vehicle from rocks, scratches. It can be for hoods, bumpers, side fenders, doors, also door cups (to protect the paint behind the door handles from scratches that can be cause by nails or rings.)
Is there a link with everything in this video?
What if we don’t have a mailing address. Where can I go to get the things I need

is there a list with all of these items?
We’ll create a link that lists all of these tools to make it easy.

Popular shades are 5%, 20%, 35%. 24" for side widows. 36" or 40" for back windows.
