    Development is necessary with the safety of the roads, but there is no way all these cars can fit in a garage, our government is so busy selling lands, if they can't help the people, they should not hurt the people. I wish they putting the same effort in bringing water and electricity.

    • @umann550
      @umann550 8 месяцев назад

      You can’t bring water and electricity if you can’t attract foreign business because the country looks a mess. The government is trying to secure a better future for gambians by making the country more inviting for investment which will bring more business for gambian shop owners. Foreign money is what will grow the economy.

      @@umann550 That's an excuse and a cheap way to justify the incompetence of our government, I got news for you, myself personally have tried a lot in Gambia, from the jammeh government to adama barrow, Gambia is run by people that care about their own personal pockets than the interest of the entire country, you can't establish a serious business in Gambia, without the government asking for a bribe, you must be sleeping.

      @@umann550 so you basically implying that corruption is acceptable, these types of mindset is the reason why Africa will never progress, no accountability, no structure, corruption is legalized. Since 1965, up to date, Gambia is still stagnant.

    • @umann550
      @umann550 8 месяцев назад

      @@sauljob2396 but the corruption will include government acceptance of illegal structures being built thus impeding freedom of public movement because officials are taking bribes . Maybe this is a step in the right direction because obviously the bribes from illegal shop owners isn't working anymore. You complain about corruption then when government starts cleaning it up you complain.

      Brother, there is no dictatorship in this case. This is progress and development. Gambia is our country, and as a citizen I will welcome anything like such. I know it affects some vulnerable people, but let them use the space given by the government, and if there isn't enough space, then that's the job of their counsellor to fix the problem.

      @@MrThedreadman The way they are approaching it is wrong. Even in one's own house, if one want to evict a tenant, you give him/her ample time.
      Be rational my brother. How can you go to Councillor even when the Councillor him/herself isn't given ample notification time? There is something called impact mitigation. How many people have they put out of job in a span of a week? What do they have for those people?
      The drivers in the streets for instance have a genuine argument. There is no space in the Garage, so the seek for alternatives.

      My argument is that, no one likes disorderliness, however, even squatters are notified either by telling them that its illegal to set up a tent somewhere or that they will be evicted at a certain time. We have been collecting tax from some of these folks for over 2 decades. The should return them their tax then
