For others wondering about saving for retirement on a single income, if your married filing joint, the non working spose can still contribute for retirement like in a Roth IRA.
Congrats to everyone in the video! I am also excited about upcoming transfer. At the end of this month I will add 3k to my house savings fund, and I will sit down with a realtor for the first time on the 31st!! Crossing my fingers that in the next few months I'll be able to buy my first home.
I am on a monthly budget, as we only get paid once a month where I live (usually around the 22nd) - so not much saving/investing is happening rn for me, but I found some cash, deposited that and send it to my EF. I took some moneu out of there at the end of 2024 as like a “re-prioritising” move & am now working to build it back up to 3 months of expenses.
It’s always nice to find sown extra money lying around! I’m glad you are working on that EF! We are doing the same! It will feel good to have three months of expenses safely tucked away 😊
You are always so busy, Ang! Don’t feel like you need to “catch up” with me. I appreciate you watching whenever you can, but I know it’s hard to keep up with everyone 💚💚
Hi Katie!! Awesome job paying 1k to the Highlander already and the month is only at the halfway mark! Love hearing the transfers! I hope you guys are thawing out from the snow!! 💜❄️✨
Thank you, Imani! The snow is pretty much all gone here, but the boys did enjoy it the first day. That have been wanting to play in snow for so long! ❄️☃️
Great job and transfers! Congrats to the 4k! Well done everyone!! We had very little things going on this past week. Husband got €15 for refereeing a football game (as in real football, not a hand egg 😉). Got a €10 gift card for answering questionnaires, and used it to partially buy a birthday gift. Also used our medical SF to pay for my physiotherapy.
Haha, I never understood why American football is called football. “Football” makes sense for a sport where you literally just use your feet 😂 props to hubby for that side hustle! I bet that’s a fun way to make money!
@@KatieoftheHouse tell me about it. I don't understand it at all 😂 Yeah he loves it. He gets to earn some money while exercising and being out of the house without family.
You continue to hit milestones month after month. Congrats on SoFi which for the most part you're just patiently and consistently plugging away on yet its still giving a January win.
Yes! We have had to be so patient with SoFi! When we first refinanced, it felt like it would never end, but we’re making progress. I’m so thankful for the help from Marc’s employer because it’s certainly helping to speed it along 😊
Making a transfer to a loan or credit card that has a much lower interest rate is a great thing to do, but you can’t go and run up the old credit card with new debt. You have to change your behavior before you do this. Keep killing it Katie!
Yay…$1k to the Highlander is awesome…being close to getting under $50k in student loans makes me giddy too…love that your investing in your personal IRA account👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 congratulations on hitting 4k subbies🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thanks so much, Melissa! I cannot believe we are almost under 50K for the student loans. It really just doesn’t seem real, but we’ve come a long way! 😃
Really enjoying the videos and you're making great progress towards your debt payoff! Out of curiosity- what interest rate is the highlander/student loans? Curious from a balancing retirement/debt standpoint

Yes!! I wish I would have known sooner 😊
My wife and I are married filing separately which stops her from having a ROTH. It sucks but she is opening a SEP IRA.

That IS exciting!! I hope you find something that you love! Keep us updated, Maddy ☺️

Awesome❤ Congratulations on 4k I’ve really got to increase my ROTH contribution. Congrats to everyone
Thank you, Cat! If you can increase it, that’s awesome, but if not, you are always consistent, and that’s amazing, too!
Love these videos. Love you sharing your own weekly progress, but also sharing others' wins!!!
Thank you! It’s super motivating to hear what others are doing as well 😃

Yes, so true! You gotta use that as your opportunity to escape 🙌🏼
Not much to say. Off to Belgium and France for fun on Thursday. Keep going.

The sofi is 5.4% and the Highlander is 8% 😩
Hey I have a question. I think I will ask it the other way. Please look for it.
Ok, I’ll check 😊
