Jorge TECHNICALLY didnt lie. The sirens werent antagonists. The men just killed them all no problem. In the actusl story, Odysseus had to keep his ears unpluged to hesr their song and learn what they needed to do (also Sirens in the Odyssey were flying creatured who would lure you to steer your ship into the rocks and eat your corpse. But he went with the mermaid interpretation)
True BUT explain the face he made when the sirens was brought up 2:54 😂 either way it an amazing song
@@FakeJ0ker oh yeah, Jorge is evil. He drinks all of our mental health like a milkshake to survive XD. I love the evil looks he gives. Awesome songs, and kinda funny, because him hallucinating Penelope singing the verse the Siren did shows just how convincingly real she seemed

@@FakeJ0ker oh yeah, definitely. Some comfort in seeing his wife for the first tim in 10-12 years. I'm kinda wondering why she thought he had a daughter, although it could just be her guessing he had a kid and assuming her magic would over her if she made a mistake
@bradleybarnett1469 most interpretation I've seen of siren songs usually mess up on some details probably just plot armor tho 😂

fun fact idk if anyone noticed but in the song Mutiny when Ody yells "I AM NOT LETTING YOU GET IN MY WAY!" he uses the same melody as in Antinuous' Hold Them Down when he says "I will not let any part go to waste"

@TheWanderingWinion ye i dont think many people noticed that, but a few days before the thunder saga released, i was looking at snippets and i noticed it

@@Kukinno07 when I recorded this reaction I was attending the live watch party, but I do know there have been some channels who have reposted it
Also in the song ody actually asks eurylochus to light up said torches so he also dies. It's not that apperant in the music but eury gives his torch to someone else at the last second,that's how he survives
I think what's sad is the in the animatic you can tell the Eury didn't mean for it to happen, he had regret on his face
Yeah, I almost wonder if Eury gave the torch to that guy to keep him alive, not knowing the lights were a lure

Technically, he didn't lie, it was more of a misdirect, because originally I believe it was Tiresias who told Odysseus about both Scylla and Charybdis, so EPIC Odysseus finding out about Scylla from the sirens never happened! I think we all got tricked into thinking the sirens wouldn't make it into EPIC, which in hindsight would've been a huge miss, since a siren's whole schtick is singing sailors to their doom, and EPIC is a musical 😂
(Also, I got chills at the motif after Eurylochus kills the cattle, cause it sounds like the vocal motif in God Games!)
Yeah I feel I same way! In another video jorge made he revealed what the background vocals in No Longer You were, and they were saying stuff from the thunder saga!!
It was indeed a very good misdirect
The vocals after the cow dies are just such INTENSE danger motif and give the feeling of the sun intensifying in light and heat, just bearing down on Odysseus and his men.
One thing that some people noticied and makes so much sense
Eurylochus says "A statue of the god of the sun" and Ody says "This is the home of the sun god" so problably still Helios, but Eury didn"t knew that.
I think it's actually "This is the home of the sun god," but it should still be Helios.
I originally thought it was Apollo, I forgot about Helios
I'm gonna say Apollo because Apollo has cows as his sacred animal. And has a herd of them. Helios doesn't. Also Apollo is in the go games sooo
It's very ironic that you missed the "daughter" line because the vocals were so good. Truly a siren experience, careful in open waters!
But really, this saga is so beautiful and drags you through every emotion from lighthearted excitement to concern to grief. Amazingly done.
The Siren stuff is actually in the source material, although the interaction went a bit differently because Odysseus was the only one without beeswax in his ear so that he could gain wisdom from the sirens per Circe's orders
Fun fact. The ending music of thunderbringer is supposedly titled “Telemachus’ lullaby” and his song is the first one in the Wisdom Saga which is next

how did you hear a snippet from suffering? there was literally 0 info on it online before its release
Actually no, I just saw a tiktok about it today again, if you go to Jorge's tiktok and go to January 26 2021 you will find a tiktok about "suffering" but I don't think it was officially labeled as "song 21"
I think it was in a phase of epic before any of the songs were confirmed or in the era where songs started getting cut such as "your light" and "olive tree"
