One thing I love about BOTM is you just get a book. All the little things that come in other book boxes are cute but I am trying not to have so many random clutter all over my house! Getting to pick my book and also skip if I can't find something is great, I skipped last month and got two books this month.

That extra credit sounds handy, and them letting you pick what you want! That's what I don't like about subscription boxes: not being in control XD

I’ve been a member for a few years and it’s my favorite! I read all 3 of my selections last month and loved them. This month I got Happy & You Know It, A Good Marriage, and Dear Edward. Can’t wait to dive into them as soon as I finish my current read!

I was a member for several months. I canceled because I was stacking up books instead of getting them read. I plan to join again once I get caught up on reading the books I bought prior.

Botm looks really really cool but i cant stand the logo on the spine and cover 😩 the only thing stopping me from subscribing tbh

Yeah, the fact that they put their company logo on the front cover, and the spine is something that has always annoyed me about Book of the Month, and made me hesitant to subscribe. That being said, I don't necessarily mind that they put their company logo on the back of the book, since it's a lot less noticeable there; and I actually like that they put what month it's a selection from on the back of the book.
Yes!! I wish they only put it on the back...my bookshelf as a lot of BOTM labels😬 however, If I know that it’s a book I want to keep then I try to buy it from somewhere else!

I have been a member of BOTM for a year and a half now and I have found a lot of 5 star reads! I started when The Great Alone was listed and I was able to join for $9.99! I wanted that book so bad and for that price...I was sold. Great reads ever since.

Depending on what Book of the Month's June selections are, I might pick The Book of Longings as a book for my June box. It sounds really interesting to me, and I definitely want to read it! :)
As someone who exclusively uses an ereader, I wish BOTM would expand to ebooks/audiobooks! 😭 I love seeing their selections every month by booktubers, and wish there was a service similar for all book formats.

Great video! I had thought about subscribing to Book of the Month for several years, and I FINALLY decided to subscribe last month after watching your mashup review where you talked about Lucy Foley's book, The Guest List, and I saw that it was one of their April selections. I also got Emily Henry's book, Beach Read, as an add-on! My May box should be coming in the mail either today or tomorrow. Like you, I also picked A Good Marriage and The Knockout Queen. I almost also got The Book of Longings, but I ultimately decided to buy Happy & You Know It by Laura Hankin instead. I might still buy The Book of Longings on Amazon, because it sounds like a very intriguing book. I had a REALLY hard time picking just three books for my May box! :)

You can have more than one account with two emails. Most members have two. That 3 books sometimes is not enough

I’m trying to find a book subscription that fit my needs. I recently temporarily subscribed to Once Upon a Book Club because I love the idea of receiving 3-5 gifts that tie into the story you’re reading, but I’m still a little hesitant on the book choice since I won’t be picking it for myself. Book of the month on the other hand allows for more control when it comes to choosing a book and there’s more variety to choose from. I also like that it’s more affordable too. Thanks for the very informative video. I think I might give BOTM a go =)

Little confused because you said if you skip you will still get the credit. But why would I get a credit if IM NOT charged?
You cannot pick all 5, you can only add up to two add ons. I WISH you had add all 5

i literally wanted to subscribe to botm so much i applied my friend from the u.s. for a membership and literally just have them shipped to me who’s living in asia (which is kinda pricey but still worth it with the titles and hard covers!) hoping they’d consider branching outside the u.s.

I think she's an affiliate but You can have more than one account yourself with two emails. Most members have two accounts.

The first month you are only allowed to add on one. After the first month you can add two each month.

I want to order a book but when I put two books in my cart (neither any of the December selections) do I have to sepreately apply for a membership? Or does it automatically sign me up for the membership with my first purchase?

Hey! So I just signed up and I’m a little confused. It says that I can skip a month and not get charged for it, but when I signed up, it said I would be charged on the 28th of the month. How can I skip the month and not be charged if the books don’t come out till the 1st? I hope this makes sense lol
You will be charged on the 28th then you can skip btwn the 1st and 4th not sure about the dates(make sure to check) so if you skip for the month of june you will not be charged and if you keep skipping you will not be charged till you use that credit. So basically you must have a backup credit to skip
