I wanted to say thank you for your videos. I just got my HM 126 this week and milled my first logs over the weekend. I learned a lot from your videos that really helped me.

No problem, that is great and I hope everything goes well for you with the mill.

You are enjoying that mill to much. lol.
Once you get the feel for the controls on the Backhoe you will love it.
I’m learning to run my “new to me” 1990 Kubota 3055 tractor 🚜 on my 100 acres at my Cabin.
Working on building my own Mill also, so hopefully I will be milling this Fall.
Really enjoying your videos. Keep up the great work and be safe.
    Thanks Chris

Thanks so much. 100 acres, a cabin and a sawmill, sounds like a good time to me!

Maybe just aproach the logs with the forks from the beginning? Got the mill last Friday Chris. Assembly not included 😂. Almost done prepping the area where I'm going to put it.

Nice hope it works out good for you. I just wanted practice with the backhoe part so that's why i did it that way.

Hey Chris get a thumb welded on thay bad boy so you can pick up the logs instead of scooping up the logs. Also keep them off the dirt. That eats saw blades. I got a 307 Cat excavator last year and wow is it cool for loading the logs right into place on the bunks.

Right on there is some sort of thumb on it. I don't know much about them but it doesn't seem to be on right its welded right on the arm so you have to bring the bucket all the way around before it grips a log.

You could make a log deck on skids, so it can be moved around, that way you can roll logs onto the mill bunks. Nice straight bark means no twisting, lumber should be nice and straight.

Thanks, I might have to use that idea. I was hesitant to build a bunk for two reasons. I want to move/make a better mill setup and also I don't always know what order I am going to cut the logs in. If I had a movable bunk that would solve both problems.

You have good supply of good sized white cedar. Do you have any issues with the blade diving around the knots..sure is handy to have a good supply of logs.nice work

Hey there, I have noticed the blade dip very occasionally around a big knot. I find that if i slow down right at the knot it really cuts down on any movement. 99% of the time though it does really well.

Not a tractor guy, so I'm asking from ignorance. Would it not have been easier just to use the forks from log pile to sawmill?

For me it would have been i have a lot more experience using the front loader, but I was more or less looking for an excuse to practice with the backhoe part as I don't have much experience with that.
