It is nearly 5 AM now and I am listening to this with a cup of coffee and working on my a laptop. Panditji you don't know how much positive energy you transmit to me listening to this morning Raga. Such deep, resonant and immersive voice ! God bless you.
What a sublime singing! No wonder Gwalior gharana is known as the Gan^gOtRi (the holy source of Gan^gA river) of all Gharana-s! May this kind of profound and beautiful Gwalior singing last forever through disciples of PaNDit Bodas-ji! His use of deeRgha viSRAnti on key svara-s creates such a feeling of repose and tranquillity in our world of chaos and violence! Thanks for posting this excellent model of vocal music!

Darbarfestival, I have an art channel where I upload timelapses of my painting process as well as art video blogs and other kinds of art related content, I have Indian heritage, and my work is influenced heavily by my visits to India and the rich culture there, currently the music which I use in my videos is my own music production, and takes a lot of time, often distracting me from the art stuff, I was wondering if it would be acceptable to use music from your videos for the music in my art videos, if I did do this I would give you full credit at the top of my video description every time I used music from your uploads, I would aim to direct people to your channel, even giving your channel a mention in some of my own uploads, let me know how this sounds, thank you

From the website Kshitij (www.kshitijmusic.org/core_kedar_bodas1.html) "Born in family of professional musicians, Kedar Bodas is the son of Sri Narayan Bodas, a well-known singer and teacher of the Gwalior and Agra Gharana-s as well as a professional actor-singer on the Marathi stage. Kedar had his earliest training from his grandfather, Pandit Lakshmanrao Bodas who was a direct disciple of Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar of the Gwalior Gharana. Kedar thus grew up in an atmosphere conducive to his musical education. As a child he was also fond of playing tabla which he studied under Pandit Pandurang Salunkhe ( disciple of Ustad Amir Hussain Khan) and Pandit Shreedhar Padhye (disciple of Pandit Kerkar Master) His training in tabla gave him an early insight into the formal and rhythmic aspect of Hindustani Music; however, he was instinctively attracted to vocal music and the freedom of expression he felt it gave him." Anyone can post the lyrics and the translation? I can understand enough to know it's about Shiva - but would be great if anyone could post the lyrics and translation for all non-native speakers like me.
Really soul stirring rendition by PanditJi Absolutely beautiful tabla accompaniment as well May I ask whether Ek Taal is being played for the vilambit part of the song?
Yes, he is a nephew, once removed. His Grandfather Pt.Laxmanrao Bodas and Veenatai's father, Pt.Shankarrao Bodas were brothers. Both were direct disciples of Pt.Vishnu Digambar Paluskar.
Ashok Ranade was Kedar's earlier Guru, the first was his Grandfather Pt.Laxmanrao Bodas. Later Kedar learned from Pt.Trymbakrao Janorikar too. Incidentally Dr.Ashok D.Ranade had learned from Pt.Laxmanrao Bodas also.
Is this raga Gunakali or Gunakari? The two ragas are distinctly different. Gunakari, also called as Gunakri is more close to Bhairav while Gunakali belongs to Bilawal group of ragas which have natural notes. Somehow this seems to be Gunakari or Gunakri whichever name one may call. But this does not seem to be Gunakali. Experts please clarify my doubts. Thank you
I d suggest the viewers to type in ustad salamat ali gunkali on youtube and listen to it as well. Its 2hours and the way he sings will take you away from this world
The best soul stirring rendition of gunkali I’ve heard by far! 🙏🏻

Wonderful! Who is the lyricist?
Hi Nilabja Das,
Thank you for your message, I am so sorry I do not know this information. I wonder if someone reading these comments can help us.
The composition & words are penned by Ustaad Amaan Ali khan Saheb
