He missed the SMELL of burnt rubber. 4 speed with granny gear not made to just bring the RPM'S up to 5000 and dump the clutch now, then heel to toe brake gas and left foot on clutch and due a brake burn. The best was 1987 TOYOTA'S with a 22R Engine's 5 speeds, we couldn't keep up with them out in the woods at all, we got pulled out more by the 2 TOYOTA'S than us pulling them out, that's Ford's/Chevy's/Dodge which is a great truck and 1 CJ5 JEEP, that didn't Have enough weight, had the power with the 360 if not mistaken, he sold it an a week later, the new owner wrecked it by rolling it over. I'm a Chevy guy but beat the Fords for a reason, its BECAUSE they were cheap and didnt care about beating them, I do however like the 1977 1978 Ford F-250 4×4 now. I wouldnt ever beat my 1969 6 foot stepside Chevy with a 283 4 speed 4×4 with Factory 373 gears and drum BRAKES all around, went wheeling but watched the trails so I didn't scratch paint, I sold it in 1994, I wished I never did, now worth about $35,000 to $60,000 and all Factory matching numbers. Its called life and fun. Want and off road truck again, new ones just bust apart like you seen with all these. Maybe go back to a Dune buggy, we had about 10 of them. POLICE busted our BALLS on wherever we went riding. Flat tow needed to be REGISTERED and INSURED by POLICE. So 40 acres on PRIVATE PROPERTY WASN'T enough room to enjoy them. I sold mine and a few others just garaged them. Now that 1 Ford reminded me of one bit it had a cab on it. There like dirtbikes going over those whoops now, just skim across them like a dirtbike if you had power. Now all POLICE DEPARTMENTS around here went out and all got 4×4 CRUISERS, they started with 2 each. Now all fleet are them, they in my city has rolled a few and crashed 5 if them in 3 years. Its not a car. Can't go around a corner at a high rate of speed. Just clipping a curb going a bit fast will flip over, a rookie just did it a month ago on a $50,000 tax payers VEHICLE, INSURANCE is us tax payers, its like that in each STATE and City or TOWN. Even buses for State, I know BECAUSE they hit me, can't collect from State on there fault. POLICE never took driver for testing at all and threatened me.
