Lyrics:
If you wanna roll me, then you gotta roll me all night long
And if you wanna use me, then you gotta use me til I’m gone
I’m not a fallen angel, I just fell behind
I’m out of luck and I’m out of time
If you don’t wanna love me, let me go
I’m runnin for the last train
I’m runnin for the last train home
If you wanna know me, then you gotta know me through and through
And if you’re gonna hurt me, then you gotta hold me next to you
No matter how you work it, things go wrong
I put my heart where it don’t belong
So if you’re comin with me let me know
Maybe you’re the last train
Maybe you’re the last train home
I’m on the last train runnin
I’m on the last train runnin
And I surrender
And I surrender

@@Maxodex catch em all
Agreed
John is so done with 2021, he’s making songs for the 80s now. We don’t deserve him. 😩❤️
Haha true
And it is a surprise he still doesn't have a decent fanbase in india? I don't know why he isn't on the too charts
You need to have good taste in music in order to love the depth of John Mayer. People with good music taste are very few in India.
@@rishavbasu7975 most of them are into hard pop nowadays which has 0 musicality. Just crap autotune and catchy beats. That's all. Good to see people of India appreciating Mr Mayer. 🥰
@@randomrants6500 Got into Mayer after listening to 'Aint No Sunshine' at the Crossroads. That performance defines the true skills of John Mayer. People should stop criticising him because of a few mistakes he made a decade ago. He is a legend. One of the few musicians saving our generation from a total musical apocalypse.
This John Mayer era is about to be the best thing ever
I agree
💯
Hey there Mimi!
Yesssssss
Damn right
Who else came hear from "The Bear"? Love this song so much, sent it to so many people. A bit of Toto "Africa" meets "Midnight Train To Georgia" meets John Mayer's brilliance. Nostalgic, current, timeless, all at the same time.
same
Sounds like mid 80s clapton to me
No I'm here cause when the song first came out I was obsessed with it 😊
Yep came here from The Bear (about to watch Season 2). Actually Googled it as Last Train Running and got Whiskey Falls (not a bad track as it happens) and thought it was that until I looked at the playlist and then John Mayer blew it out the water!
Started watching the show a few days ago, just finished episode 6
Finished the show (so far) yesterday, can't wait for Season 3!
John Mayer, drama free, and his full self. Crown him now, instead of waiting til he’s gone like most of the greatest musicians to ever bless our radio waves. He belongs up there.
100%
Truer words have never been spoken.
I don’t know about the drama free part, but I totally agree with you
Definitely not drama free 😹😹
Yup he absolutely shreds too... Big Facts.
No wonder the song sounds quite like Toto's "Africa": That's Greg Phillinganes on the keys and Lenny Castro on percussions.
Was looking for this!
Along with John channeling ‘80s era Eric Clapton with his guitar tone and playing style. Spot on.
It's lovely when an original and creative artist adds onto and is truly inspired by a song instead of ripping it off!
i think he´s gonna make an interview saying he has listening to Toto and Boston a lot
Thanks for the insight, that's a huge intel for me! The only thing missing then to make it more in the sound of the 80s is Quincy Jones' production!
Love the “Toto - Africa” synth 😂 so good. John Mayer doesn’t miss.
it's the same keyboardist & percussionist!
@@betty4774 that’s awesome! 🤘
@@betty4774 not quite. David Paich was the original. Greg Phillinganes joined Toto when David fell ill
I love this song, too. It is like a mix between Phil Collins’ 1981 album, Face Value, Toto’s “Africa” (Toto IV, 1982), Eric Clapton’s “Forever Man” (Behind The Sun, 1985), Bruce Springsteen’s “Tougher Than The Rest” (Tunnel of Love, 1987), Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” (Back in the High Life, 1986), and Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” (So, 1986)
@@betty4774 Its not the same keyboardist because David Paich is the one behind TOTO, but the percussionist Lenny Castro is the very same

Just finished the episode and went to look it up. I love the old school 80s vibe, too.
I'm just glad that John's love of trains is still alive and well in 2021. Hopefully the new album has even more train related content

Like Africa but without the chorus, I was waiting for the payoff.
Damn! I'm late to the party. I heard AFRICA in the first few measures and was about to to put your exact comment.... Good thing I checked first.

John Mayer really said “We bringing the 80’s back. Hop on the train or stay behind!” GENIUS!!!!
How much I would love to relive the 80s again...(I was a kid then) no matter the efforts here and there...it isn't possible..whatever you do...it was the real thing back then and only then. The whole energy was so different from todays.. I was born in the 80s and I remember as a little kid sitting in front of the TV screen watching MTV music videos of Hornsby, Winwood, Springsteen, Clapton, Don Henley, etc... Mayer did a great job harking me back to that nostalgic time with this song and video. Thank you sir!

He's not chasing anymore. He's come to maturity.
Yeah heard that before when he was dating Katy Perry. The tiger cannot cannot change his stripes - John will always be chasing the next lady
What I love about John is that everyday and every year, he just keeps moving forward like a train. He's been producing music for years and never seems like he wants to stop. He learns from mistakes and keeps going forward a more improved musician.

This is probably the most 80s song I’ve heard in ages. It’s got all them Toto, Boston and Brian Adams feels all over it.

The world needs more music like this. This is the type of music I play on an early Sunday morning with a cup of coffee ☕️ Thank you John
Oh yes ! I agree !!! It can be in a afyernoon too. :)
Yes!!!
There is literally thousands of songs like this. This was one of the most popular song structures of the 70's and 80's. The world is FULL of songs like this, if you can't find them that's your own fault.
Have you heard anything from Joe Bonamassa, well worth listening to xx
@@Kathy.Thorne No I haven’t but I will now! Thank you!
The Blues legend John Mayer , at this point it doesn’t matter if it’s a bad or good song .
John , you’re in many hearts and you’re idol of many people .
It’s like 1980’s Toto meets a great 1980’s Eric Clapton song. Just brilliant!
I grew up in the late ‘80s. This is like going home. Love John Mayer’s music so much. Have been a fan now for 20 years.
Lyric:
If you wanna roll me, then you gotta roll me all night long
And if you wanna use me, then you gotta use me til I'm gone
I'm not a fallen angel, I just fell behind
I'm out of luck and I'm out of time
If you don't wanna love me, let me go
I'm runnin for the last train
I'm runnin for the last train home
If you wanna know me, then you gotta know me through and through
And if you're gonna hurt me, then you gotta hold me next to you
No matter how you work it, things go wrong
I put my heart where it don't belong
So if you're comin with me let me know
Maybe you're the last train
Maybe you're the last train home
I'm on the last train runnin
I'm on the last train runnin
And I surrender
And I surrender
I'm on the last train runnin
I'm on the last train runnin
And I surrender
And I surrender
I'm on the last train runnin
I'm on the last train runnin
And I surrender
And I surrender
I'm on the last train runnin
I'm on the last train runnin
And I surrender
I surrender
Bhaiya ji op

No decade is perfect by any means...but man, the 80's and 90's were really the last 2 care-free decades we've had. This makes me happy.
I agree
What a great song. Love John's voice. I could listen to this song all day.
This is what musicians should aspire to be. Constantly evolving your sound, stay open to learning, helping younger talent along the way. The man is just a real music lover at heart, there is nothing else he'd rather do.
