- Parts of East Yorkshire lose metres of coastline every year as coastal erosion becomes a constant battle to stop.
Entire villages in our region could fall into the sea if we do not act now to stop climate change.
In some areas of the Holderness coast a staggering four metres of land is being lost each year.
Take a trip along the coast at Skipsea, Aldbrough and Ulrome and you will be able to witness the desolation first-hand.
There are now roads that lead to nowhere which is leaving houses teetering on the brink.

I was looking at the stats and Aldbrough has one one of the highest rates of erosion on the Yorkshire Coast. I wonder if the defences at Mapleton has speeded this up because the stats before 1950 were showing something completely different.

Mickey there is nobody really wants to do anything about climate change, goverments
are moving to slow to tackle the problem, and we live in a world of Ostriches with there heads

Hi Mark. On average its about 2 metres a year and they say the house is 30 metres away. You might get a good 10 years before you think about packing up.
