  • Quick walkaround of a Lifan KPV150. So far with just over 1k miles. The two things you probably want to know.. how fast is it and is it as good as a Honda ADV150. Top is 61 or 62 and may be a mile or two faster as the break-in process goes on. Is it as good as a ADV150?.. no but it's closer than you think.

    It's a sharp looking scooter. Is that little red lever on the left handlebar near the brake lever a parking brake?

      @donp1616  2 года назад

      No.. there's actually no parking brake at all. The red switch is for emergency flashers.

      Can this bike survive on the highway like can it move good enough to be on the highway with?

    Is the windshield mount connected to the metal frame? I don't use a windshield but would have a machine/welding shop make a bracket for a plastic crate for groceries...a removable device hopefully.

      @greenleaf2233.. the w/s is connected to a substantial metal frame but likely not to the scooter frame itself. I have a larger aftermarket w/s and it holds that pretty steady.. I would think it possible to craft a front carrier of some sort.

    What is the torque soec on front wheel axle nut? I just got the same scooter.

      No idea.. I bought mine fully assembled.. Lifan is no help for me so far. I assume that front axle is 50 to 60 lbft but it's a guess based on viewing the service manual for a KPX250. Lifan lists front axle torque as (Front axle: M14×1.5, tightening torque: 80±3N·m). I'm nearing 8000 Lifan miles and I need to change tires. The rear torque is the number I'm really interested in.

    Don i got my lipan kpv 150 last Aug 15 in gray, yours is white and it looks very good. I have a question if you don't mind, how is your odometer and speedometer reading mine I'd off about 50% on the odometer. When I travel around 4 miles (GPS verified) my KPV 150 odometer shows 6 miles, is your odometer closer to being accurate.
    Thanks

    • @donp1616
      @donp1616  2 года назад

      Not even close.. speedometer is 7 to 8 mph fast in the 45 to 60 mph range. Odometer is off a fair amount as well but I haven't measured it yet.

      @@donp1616 Thanks for the info. I have not checked the speedometer yet, but I am ok with 7-8 MPH (+) its the odometer I am more concern with. I have ask AGB Sumo (RUclips blogger) that also have a KPV 150, and his odometer reading is good per his reply to me.

      Did some calculations and my odometer is off by about 17%.

    Hi friend. Can you possibly tell us where to acquire a owners/service manual in English. I didn't see anything online. What type of oil (synthetic?), and gas (octane#) do to put in it? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

    • @donp1616
      @donp1616  10 месяцев назад

      American Lifan is no help with owners manual / shop manual.. they've repeatedly told me to refer to the dealer for service.. my dealer, however, is 200 miles away. I've done a couple of valve adjustments and there were no big surprises. Next hurdle is removing wheels to replace tires and replacing the drive belt. I used conventional Rotella (recommended to facilitate break in) 15/40 at the first oil change and have used Rotella full synthetic since 15/40 at all other changes.. I usually go about 1500 miles. I usually use mid grade gas, with premium on occasion.. compression ratio in this engine is 10.7/1 so I don't worry with premium at every fuel up.

    Great looking bike. What helmet size can fit under the seat?

    • @donp1616
      @donp1616  Год назад

      No idea.. I don't have one that fits.. I'd be surprised it a skull cap would fit. The monoshock severely limits space for hard items. The area is about 9.5" wide, about 7" long but only about 7" deep and that space is broken by the shock.

    Don, does your kpv have that engine start/stop when stopped? Can that feature be turned off? I do 95% country side riding roads. Although I guess it would cut down on the usage of it in the long run, huh? I am a senior which prefers old school. Any answers?

    • @donp1616
      @donp1616  10 месяцев назад

      @greenleaf2233.. all of the US spec KPVs (as far as I know) arrived with no auto start/stop or ABS. I can't see that the auto start/stop would save much fuel on a 150cc scooter but i would like to have ABS.

      Yeah, it must not be us. I found a video where it does have a switch to turn it off/on though. But thanks for the answer@@donp1616
