Nice design as always, love Jacks work the best water falls and ponds as well as features, a great artist!! The second pond is stunning I love how its up against the house, what an amazing view, and the falls and fauna are stunning a beautiful collaboration so tastefully done!!
Omg! I love the flower and how the pond goes so close to the house and especially I love the fish and you can feed through the window, that must be a beautiful experience.
I thought, it sure would be nice to have a fountain in the front yard. So I dug a round hole, threw in a cheap pond liner and put some quartz slate rocks around in. Thats all it took to get me hooked. So I tore out the cheap liner and leveled the water line bought a ton of 4 to 8 inch river rocks. And today I rebuild my first attempt and after I start planning on how to convert my backyard to a beach front oasis. Thanks for the inspiration cheers I love your job 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂 😹
I remember my first pond build :). Almost 30 years ago. It's what sold out last property. Have a pond on this place, it head so much potential, but time, age and money is the factor, plus I'd have to see my chores, chickens and sheep. Really enjoy your videos is love to have your job ;)
Atlantis is one of the bests as these features show. Both of you guys have inspired me to start my own pond business very soon. I'll be at Aqualand next week to start my journey. I can't wait to start learning!! My favorite part of the first pond is how it pulls you from the house out into the yard. For the second pond it is all the unique edge treatments. Up against the house, the beach, the cantilever porch, the combination is awesome! Great work guys!
Ever since I was a little girl I use to love looking at waterfalls and ponds. There was an episode where one of the contractors was showing you guys a water feature in Torrance Ca. “parkcore” and I wish you could have showed all of the waterfalls. I love going out to eat there because I walk along the different paths and hearing all the water crashing is the best!
Jaak and Greg, my favorite thing about the second pond and waterfall is the combination of edge types. As Greg said going from a beach entrance to larger rock, to a more formal cut bluestone terrace provides so much interest. It would be interesting to learn more about what goes into engineering a water feature that abuts a building.
I think the next step for that yard is a river over to the Pool which should be ripped up and rebuilt as a natural pond swimming hole with added wetlands for filtering.
I almost complete the update of my pond /thx for inspiring me to do that /my pond is pretty deep and large but i only a pleco. Should i put some koi fish in it ?
That was a Killer Pond and Waterfall Jaak!! A+++ 👍🏻👍🏻. Luv how it’s up against the house. 2 questions. Does that have a wetlands to keep that water quality that way or is it a skimmer? 2nd. Are we doing something like that at Kamp Kenans Rec Pond Build going up against the house or patio?
The wetland filter on this pond is integrated into the skimming system. Not sure the exact plan for Kenan's but it sounds like something along those lines?
I love the second water feature. Could you show what you would do for winterizing a pond just like it. I live in erie, pa. So we get a cold snowy winter. Just want to know what I'm getting into before we start digging. Thanks
If you have the extra money hire this incredible artist Jaak.I just started watching his videos.Just spoke to his wife and unfortunately my project is too small for him to travel to another state.
Im not Greg nor am I a koi expert by jo means. I would assume it would depend on the number of koi, water depth as well as the temperature of the air and water. It would vary daily, just from having aquariums
Hi man.fantastic job.ive been watching almost all your videos and love them all and now I'm addicted.i live in India and have good enough place for a nice recreational pond where I could swim.im wondering if you could design a pond for me.we could arrange for something where you could help me out from your home.
I notice in most of the ponds you have river stone in the bottom. How are you managing fish waste? I don't see any mention of bottom drains, creating currents, etc - just the design element (which looks fantastic) but the health of the Koi is just as important. What innovations are there today to manage solids and sludge build-up on rock bottom ponds?
I do love all of the design elements you discuss. I am just curious about bacteria management, preventing anaerobic bacteria from forming in the sludge, planting in fish occupied ponds (My Koi have made it a challenge...), algae, water temperature management from sunlight, etc... Any answers are appreciated!
Hey Mike. Great questions! If you have a balanced, ecosystem pond - there is no need for a bottom drain. You want to make sure you have proper filtration, adequate circulation, rock and gravel (for surface bacteria to grow), and a healthy balance of fish and plants. Too many fish and you'll have water quality issues. Too few plants and you might have algae issues. We do have products that solve any of these problems. An IonGen removes algae. You can learn more at www.aquascapeinc.com/products/iongen-system-g2-us. The Automatic Dosing System dispenses the proper amount of beneficial bacteria. The ADS comes with 4 water treatments to address most issues that might occur with a pond. You can learn more about it here: www.aquascapeinc.com/book/water-treatments/
Great example of what happens when an artist does not get held back and the creativity is allowed to flow!
Pondscapes Az exactly Ralphie! It’s like having the best of both worlds, you know what that’s like 👍
Atlantis Water Gardens 😚
The pond that goes up to the house is my dream pond. I love the pebble walking edge, the low bridge and water falls. Just brilliant
Love seeing the transformations of "boring backyard' to destination paradise! Nice work Jaak!

Thanks Linda!
I love that look of water right up to and under the patio. Two beautiful creations. I really like the first one being set back into the woods a bit.
Cathleen Baldwin Maggi thanks!
I like the plants that are around the bio falls in the first property, such nice vibrant colours that look so soft!
Agreed!

Can never have too much water in a yard!! (as long as it's contained in an Aquascape Ecosystem pond or Decorative Fountainscape!!)
I would have put a big flat rock that hangs over the water not a normal patio . Looks great yall .
I think the next step for that yard is a river over to the Pool which should be ripped up and rebuilt as a natural pond swimming hole with added wetlands for filtering.
I like the second better....I want the pond close to the house in fact it could run though it...
This is beautiful! Makes me drool! How do you manage predators such as blue herons?

The pond God
What is there like 10 little falls in Jamie's pond .
Greg I thought there was a general rule that you had to have 5 ft distance from your pond and the house, no?

Is there a pond tour of Greg's house?
