This is why I love these animals. They are a work of art with naturally beautiful form, balance, and movement... I think that no other breed of horse represents these qualities more than Spanish breeds like the Andalusian.
I class myself extremely fortunate to have seen the "Apassionata" show 2 yrs ago and I cannot find the words to express how wonderful it was....thanks for showing this, bought back beautiful memories
One thing you can say about horses is that they will never do what they don't want to do. It is wonderful to see this stallion enjoying himself so much.
In the begin I thought she was running away for the horse, because he ran so hard and looking mad to her, but then I saw the whole film, wonderfull! He only looks a littlebit angy, but he's doing everything for her and they work so perfectly together! Amazing!

This horse is so gorgeous and the music goes perfect with this dramatic scene. Somehow, I have a connection to my Arabian mare just like this, but ive never trained her to have such a fondness of me. She acts just like the stallion in this beautiful, but my mare looks more soft hearted and gentle.

The horse has a halter on not a head collar, the halter is on for a lifeline (he is a stallion after all) and you wouldnt want him bolting into the audience without some way of stopping him! :) The 'Stick' is used for direction only, its doesnt make the horse perform, he is free, but needs direction. It made me cry too, something I will never forget! :)

Of course its real, its not computer animated lol Apassionatta isnt a circus, its a horse show with highly trained horses. All of the horses used are trained without the use of contact whips, whips they use are used for guidance only :) Thats why I love this show!

The apassionata horse show are only doing a european tour for now. It comes here from germany every year. If you can get over here next summer you may be able to catch them! If not, im sure there will be something just as good over in the states, keep your eyes peeled :)
The Lord of the Rings is one of my favourite sets of movies ever. I have posters all over my walls, signed pictures, and a replica of Theoden's sword above my desk. I'm glad that someone found a horse that the music fits, because sadly, it doesn't fit my Appaloosa Gelding. =P
It's supposed to be there. It's a common piece of equine tack called a cavason or nose band. It goes up behind the horse's ears, down their face and around the nose just above the mouth. Usually a cavason is used in conjunction with a bridle. When used in this fashion, it is a form of control put upon the horse (or something to grab onto in a pinch!). It is quite similar to a halter, but there is no lead, chain or throat latch. Google "cavason" and you should find a picture.

As owner of the largest stallion in my state, I can tell you that this horse is NOT showing the body language of aggression, but IS expressing engagement and communication with the human. It's the horse who's coreographing the dance, not the human. Watch horses at play. This happens all the time when a horses play drive is not discouraged by over-training.
