Great work Gary. Your videos are always exceptional and well thought out. I really appreciate your budget videos. I hope they are well appreciated by lots of people.
I have also limited budget. I have used Iphone 13 mini, used apple watch 3, airpods pro 1, ipad pro 2019 + pencil 2, used macbook pro m2 pro and Mac Pro 2012 with new gpu. For me it works just fine.
My current ecosystem is the 12 pro and iPad 9th gen with the Logitech combo touch keyboard. I also have the 1st gen apple pencil. I tried the Apple watch but sold it, I don't need another thing to charge everyday or do software updates for.
That’s a fine set. I actually use my own budget ecosystem day-to-day (by choice). I have an Apple Watch Series 8, but I kept my old Series 3. Use both, mostly to track my running with Strava. For this purpose, Series 3 is just as good as Series 8. My iPhone is SE3, in current new lineup. I don’t really need 5G and A15 is overkill for that design, so SE2 would also be fine. My TWO iPads are 10.5-inch iPad Pro and iPad mini 5 (the last iPad models of their type with Touch ID Home button). Both run latest iPadOS and work great for my iPad needs. Both compatible with first gen Apple Pencil. That 2017 iPad Pro is a workhorse with (still) amazing ProMotion display and 4-speaker audio. Plus AirPods 2, in new lineup ($80 on sale). I also use Beats Flex ($40 on sale) that I prefer in many ways over AirPods, functionality part of Apple’s ecosystem. So to pick one set, iPad mini 5, iPhone SE3, Apple Watch Series 3, and AirPods 2. Plus my M1 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro.
I recently completed a build.. MacBook Pro M1 late 2020 8gb ram 512ssd (used, like-new) $500, iPhone 12 64gb, (new) $300, Air Pods 4 (new) $120, Apple Watch SE 2 (like new) $150. all said in done $1070 before taxes. Look at your local Apple Certified dealers/ repair shops. They will be a lot cheaper and in my case, both the used MacBook Pro and Apple Watch I Purchased had brand new batteries installed. both devices look an function as if they were new.. and I got all original packaging with them. Would have liked to get a newer phone but I wanted one that was brand new and under $500, iPhone SE was a bit small. Got everything for less than the price of new iPhone 16 pro max. I will be purchasing a iPad Pro 1tb soon for gaming/ entertainment. budget for that will be $500-$700 as it will be my main device I use.
I have the 12 mini and I use it as a backup phone. I really don’t recommend it as a main driver, as with a common battery drain issue - iOS throttles heavily. It’s a pain to use below 60% battery. If you love the mini, go for the 13 mini. Otherwise I’d assume the 12 Pro refurbed is also pretty good value. You probably want to spend the most of your budget on the iPhone - as far as the ecosystem goes. My 3 cents 🙏

Love the video and a frugal way to get into an excellent walled garden. But since you asked me, the iPhone 13 mini gets wayyyy better battery life than the 12 mini. Some videos say 2-3 hours more screen on time. I’d pay extra for that.
My current ecosystem: iPhone 11 (will be upgrading to the 15), iPad 9th Gen, and M1 MacBook Air. I think it would've been smarter if I actually got the 10th Gen instead just for the USB-C, but the 9th can do the things I need it to do and it's cheaper too.
in my country where i live now, the cheapest apple ecosystem that i can get would cost around 1200-1300 euros. It includes an iphone 11 128gb variant, the airpods 2, ipad 2022 64gb model and apple watch se 2023. Prety expensive compared to the states where one can get all this for probably 40% less money. Insane.
My ecosystem is: an iPhone 14 (128 GB), Apple Watch Series 3, AirPods Pro (1st generation), 2020 iPad Pro (11 inch) (256 GB) and (soon to be) an 15in m3 MacBook Air, what do you lot think? Personally this ecosystem works really well, even the watch works well despite being old and unsupported.
Honestly, I think expanding the budget and getting a regular 12 or 13 would be a wiser decision, since the battery of mini iphones weren't that great even at launch...
I have an 12 mini since january, purchased at 82% Battery. I come over a day with no problem, when i do nothing, also a second one. When i am hiking or forgot to charge, i have a very small Magsafe Battery from Anker. Very cheap and this brings my through days where i need more power. I love the 12 mini.
Nice video, thanks! My current Apple ecosystem is the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 (a relative gave me this, not saying no for a free iPhone!), Airpods 3rd Gen, Apple Watch SE2, iPad 9, Apple Pencil 1st Gen. I am thinking of upgrading my iPad 9, but gonna wait a bit if Apple will release new iPad/Mini later this year.
Miraculously my AirPods from 2017 still work great, the battery needs a charge halfway thru the day if I’m using them constantly but it’s really not much of a problem for me. Do not go trying to buy AirPods from that long ago though I have no idea how they still even work
My ecosystem is (iPhone 12 mini) (ipad 10) (Apple Watch series7) (iMac 2017 21.5in) all works great for me but definitely looking towards upgrading my iPhone and Mac
I bought the IPhone 12 mini a few weeks before I watched this renewed off of amazon and I thought it was a pretty good deal and I predicted your choice
my current ecosystem: iPhone 15 plus, iPad Air 4 + Apple Pencil, 15" M3 MacBook Air with 16GB ram and 512GB ssd, AirPod Pro 2, iPhone XS Max as a backup and Apple Watch 7
I feel like calling this a complete Apple Ecosystem isn’t completely legitimate. It covers most of your bases but sometimes you need a Mac, and you need the Apple Pencil to get the most of the note taking capabilities.
I think it works. My Mac died a month ago and I’ve used my iPad for work stuff for a whole month - Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace e.t.c. But yes, I miss my Mac and I’m getting a replacement in another week or so. As for the Pencil, I have one but 90% of my note taking is via typing. I use the Pencil when I need to doodle something.
My system is an iPhone 13 128g base model, Sony XM4 headset, MacBook Pro 2016 16g/512g and the good old G-Shock GBD-200 watch. Then ofc a beast 3070ti/i9 10900X/128gb ddr4 gaming rig with 2k monitors 170hz and 1080p 240hz.
My current Apple “ecosystem”consists of my purple iPhone 12 (refurbished from eBay), a 9th gen iPad, Apple Watch SE 2, and the OG AirPods. All told, the total I’ve spent is less than $900, and I think that’s pretty good!
As I am getting older, I want everything all connected at once. Thank you for the vide. I lost my airpod, but I have apple watch, mackbook air laptop and iphone. All I need is ipad.
My current echo system is the iPhone 13, iPad 7th gen, Apple Watch SE 2nd gen, and AirPods 1st gen, I’m thinking about getting the Apple Pencil 1st gen aswell
I secretly think you picked the iPhone 12 Mini for the same reason I would: MagSafe. And because it's in the current aesthetic. But I could be wrong. In any event, great picks. I honestly would've picked the 13 Mini....or more so the 13 Standard, because of scene size, battery life and accessory compatibility. It's still pocketable but much more compatible with the glut of accessories out there...especially MagSafe/magnetic battery packs. I have two friends, one with the 13 Mini w/o a MagSafe case; been a pain trying to find her case outside of Amazon. And the other I'm trying to convince to move from his SE2; he's too used to the Home button. I pretty much evangelize the benefits of MagSafe....best feature so far on iPhone.
I'm using 12 mini since it was first launched, and will gonna keep using it for next 2 years at least , amazing phone. miss mini phones, phones were suppose to be small.
i’ve had I’ve had my 12 many since 2021 and it served me very good. I did have to replace the battery. Well I didn’t really have to but the battery life was getting a bit shorter so I did but even with that out-of-the-way it’s still a great phone.
The current ecosystem in my family is my iPad 5th gen (32GB), my Apple Watch SE 2 (32GB), my mom’s iPhone 12 Pro Max (256GB), my mom’s iPad Pro 6th gen (512GB), my dad’s iPhone 12 Pro Max (128GB), and my dad’s MacBook Pro M2 (Idk tbh)
I will say that the Apple Watch SE models have the same display sizes as series 4-6, not series 7-9. It’s still a great watch as the SE2 has the same chip and processor as the Apple Watch S8
My ecosystem is: iPhone 12 (64 gb), iPad Air 6th generation (128 gb), Apple Pencil pro, Apple Watch Series 3, AirPods 2nd generation, iPad 9th generation (64 gb, for school), and MacBook Air m2
Idk why people get so hyped about the apple watch?!! In my opinnion id throw out the watch and ipad and get the M1 air instead, thats the best ecosystem for the money
That price Is only for 64gb device, this means you need to pay for iCloud that is a cost to add to the ecosystem, soo if you want an ecosystem that can be used for at least 2/3 years you need to spend at least 1500$ to 1700$
iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB Apple Watch Ultra 2 AirPods Pro 2 AirPods Max (as I hate sound quality) iPad Pro M4 2TB Cellular and Apple Pencil Pro MacBook Pro 16 Max w/ 8TB storage Maybe a Studio Pro to go under the TV Anything less I couldn’t sleep at night.
The best value ecosystem iphone 13 (comes with 128gb base and will get 4 plus years of updates) $400 M1 MacBook Air $700 Or M1 Pro MacBook Pro 14 for $1400 (maybe less depending on where you look) 2018 ipad pro $300-$400 Apple watch series 6 (for always on display and updates) $250
I got iPad Pro m2 256gb, iPhone 12pro 256 gb, AirPod pro 1 & 2, iPad Air 3, Beats Solo pro, two AirTags and Apple Watch Series 6. The only item I don’t have is a MacBook lol
I would say insteadd of buying the ipad and the old iphone you should go for xiaomi pad 6 and any mid range android phone, they will be brand new and will have more capabilities
Or stop being a fanboy and get a pair of skull candy earbuds for 20 bucks, a cheap smart watch for 70, a brand new motorola or budget phone for 250 and samsung tab s8 for 300 -you get the same , I MEAN THE SAME EXACT FUNCTIONALITY WITH BRAND NEW STUFF THAT HAPPENS TO BE WAY WAY MORE VERSATILE 😎

Love the video and a frugal way to get into an excellent walled garden. But since you asked me, the iPhone 13 mini gets wayyyy better battery life than the 12 mini. Some videos say 2-3 hours more screen on time. I’d pay extra for that.
You could get a 13 mini, 1st gen AirPods, and the se watch if you don’t need an iPad. Better battery save up some and buy a used iPad.
lol you got me with "bet" because I be saying that haha
I use the 10th gen ipad
My ecosystem is a iphone xs 64gb, 2017 macbook pro w/ touchbar 1tb, ipad air4 64gb, airpods 1, and a watch se2
I got a 13 mini for $220
Iphone 12 (used from back market). IPad 10th gen as well (i have it for school already) Airpods 4 (Noise cancelling) and apple watch SE 2
My ecosystem is iPhone 15 pro, iPad Pro gen 4 A12z processor, MacBook Air m1, AirPod gen 3 and Apple Watch series 9
We watching on the iPad 10.9 inch w the white portfolio case and listen w AirPods Pro 2😮
in my country where i live now, the cheapest apple ecosystem that i can get would cost around 1200-1300 euros.
You said you use the iPad to take notes but where is the Apple Pencil?
Instead of iPad 10 you could get an refurbished air 4
Video is straight to the point 👍🏾
my current ecosystem: iPhone 15 plus, iPad Air 4 + Apple Pencil, 15" M3 MacBook Air with 16GB ram and 512GB ssd, AirPod Pro 2, iPhone XS Max as a backup and Apple Watch 7
My current ecosystem is iPhone 11 Pro 128gb, Watch Series 5 32gb, AirPods Pro 1, iPad Air 5 64gb (m1), late 2017 iMac i5 (512 gb)
There is also the issue with low base storage without icloud.
My current ecosystem is: AP watch series 6, iPhone 11, Macbook Air M1, iPad 9th Gen and AirPods 2
My current Apple “ecosystem”consists of my purple iPhone 12 (refurbished from eBay), a 9th gen iPad, Apple Watch SE 2, and the OG AirPods. All told, the total I’ve spent is less than $900, and I think that’s pretty good!
iPhone 12
AirPods Pro 1st gen
iPad Air 5th gen/M1 MacBook Air
I don’t need an Apple Watch but if I wanted one, it would be the series 5
The iphone is second hand? I no won spend too much😅
@@OGTennyson sure. you fit get used or refurbished.
Also i have an iPhone 12 and a iPad 6th generation.there both so good I have no problems.
My Apple ecosystem consists of iPhone 15, AirPods Pro 2, iPad Pro 9.7 inch from 2016, Apple Watches series 5 from 2019 and MacBook Air m1
My ecosystem - iPhone 13 (128gb), iPad Air 5th gen (64gb wifi) with Apple pencil Gen 2, AirPods Pro 2, iWatch Series 7 🙂👍🏻
my current eco system is: Samsung A50, ryzen 9 7900x3d rtx 4090 64gb ram pc, Rolex Submariener, and the 2011 iPad 3. Rate it out of 10
I got m2 macbook pro, iphone se 2020 and watch se 2 and boy do I love it
I feel like the best ABSOLUTE BANG FOR BUCK is an iMac + iPad + iPhone
I will say that the Apple Watch SE models have the same display sizes as series 4-6, not series 7-9. It’s still a great watch as the SE2 has the same chip and processor as the Apple Watch S8
That is an insanely awesome price for a complete ecosystem!! Great job!
My current ecosystem is, iPhone 15, iPhone 13, Airpods Pro (Gen2), Airpods Max, Apple Watch S9, iPad (10th Gen)
My ecosystem IPhone 13 Mini (128GB), AirPod Pro Gen 1, MacBook Air M1 (256GB) IPad Air 4th Gen (64GB), Apple Watch series 9
My ecosystem is: iPhone 12 (64 gb), iPad Air 6th generation (128 gb), Apple Pencil pro, Apple Watch Series 3, AirPods 2nd generation, iPad 9th generation (64 gb, for school), and MacBook Air m2
My current ecosystem is the iPhone 13 Pro, AirPods Pro Gen2, 2018 iPad Pro, Apple Watch S7 40mm. No real need to upgrade anything for another year
Idk why people get so hyped about the apple watch?!! In my opinnion id throw out the watch and ipad and get the M1 air instead, thats the best ecosystem for the money
Watch is quite fun for fitness and sleep tracking. The heart rate monitor is one of the most accurate for a smartwatch.
That price Is only for 64gb device, this means you need to pay for iCloud that is a cost to add to the ecosystem, soo if you want an ecosystem that can be used for at least 2/3 years you need to spend at least 1500$ to 1700$
My ecosystem is a iPhone 14 Pro Max , Apple Watch Ultra 2, and a M2 iPad Pro 12.9 with Apple Pencil 2. I’m debating on a MacBook
I like how the HomePod is never in your Apple ecosystem. I have one and actually love it. Curious if you have ever used one
I had a HomePod Mini, sold it and regret it. I am currently looking to get rid of all my echo devices and replace them with HomePods.
iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB
Apple Watch Ultra 2
AirPods Pro 2
AirPods Max (as I hate sound quality)
iPad Pro M4 2TB Cellular and Apple Pencil Pro
MacBook Pro 16 Max w/ 8TB storage
Maybe a Studio Pro to go under the TV
Anything less I couldn’t sleep at night.
m1 macbook has insane value. it is still very powerful that does so much with such a cheap price.
The cheapest still supported eco system would be: iPhone XR, iPad 7, Apple Watch 4 and lightning EarPods
i would probably swap the 12 mini with a 13 mini or a 13 (refurbished obv). goes a little over but its good
The best value ecosystem
iphone 13 (comes with 128gb base and will get 4 plus years of updates) $400
M1 MacBook Air $700
Or
M1 Pro MacBook Pro 14 for $1400 (maybe less depending on where you look)
2018 ipad pro $300-$400
Apple watch series 6 (for always on display and updates) $250
My current ecosystem is the iPhone 15, nothing earbuds, Apple Watch, iPad 9th gen, and a gaming laptop
The cheapest apple ecosystem is probably just a Mac Mini
This is what most people SHOULD do!
Unfortunately, none of these devices are going to be able to run all the AI stuff Apple just announced 😞
Or would the phone be able to? I dunno.
@@VynZography Who cares about AI? It's just marketing fluff.
@@AzureRT456 I use AI a lot for work.
@@VynZography how is the iphone 12 not going to be able to use AI?
My apple ecosystem is iPhone 15, iPad Air 5th generation, AirPods 2nd generation, Apple Watch series 9 & MacBook Air M2 😊
