Eva María Garrido García, known professionally as Eva Yerbabuena, is a Spanish flamenco dancer. She formed her own dance company in 1998 and won Spain's National Dance Award (Premio Nacional de Danza) in 2001. She is considered one of flamenco's leading performers.

Stark difference btw her early days and now. The growth is beautiful. She was the consummate technichally correct dancer. Soulful, beautiful but quite generic for lack of better term with all due respect.
With time she gave herself room to experiment beyond that box of interpreting the art traditionally and precisely and began to incorporate more theatrical and avant garde elements into her work. And with that freedom the depths of her enigmatic personality shine through powerfully and distinguish Yerbabuena as a one of a kind innovator of flamenco. There is no dancer on her level of creativity and fearlessness.
Regardless of how experimental and truly at times strange the themes of her work goes, she always reminds you at some point that she IS a master of her craft with magnificent technique that she saves for selective points of her show instead of showcasing throughout.
She is fearless and completely unafraid of moving the needle when it comes to her artistic expression. As a dancer myself with no formal training (self taught) this woman and Carmen Amaya are my heroines.
