Nashville is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Tennessee. The city is the county seat of Davidson County and is located on the Cumberland River. With a population of 689,447 as of the 2020 United States census,[4] it is the 21st most-populous city in the United States.
Named for Francis Nash, a general of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, the city was founded in 1779. The city grew quickly due to its strategic location as a port on the Cumberland River and, in the 19th century, a railroad center. Nashville seceded with Tennessee during the American Civil War; in 1862 it was the first state capital in the Confederacy to fall to Union troops. After the war, the city reclaimed its position and developed a manufacturing base.
Since 1963, Nashville has had a consolidated city-county government, which includes six smaller municipalities in a two-tier system. The city is governed by a mayor, a vice-mayor, and a 40-member metropolitan council; 35 of the members are elected from single-member districts, while the other five are elected at-large. Reflecting the city's position in state government, Nashville is home to the Tennessee Supreme Court's courthouse for Middle Tennessee, one of the state's three divisions.
A major center for the music industry, especially country music, Nashville is commonly known as "Music City". It is also home to numerous colleges and universities, including Tennessee State University, Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, Fisk University, Trevecca Nazarene University, and Lipscomb University, and is sometimes referred to as "Athens of the South" due to the large number of educational institutions. Nashville is also a major center for the healthcare, publishing, banking, automotive, technology, and transportation industries. Entities with headquarters in the city include AllianceBernstein, Asurion, Bridgestone Americas, Captain D's, Hospital Corporation of America, LifeWay Christian Resources, Logan's Roadhouse, and Ryman Hospitality Properties.
Sure wish I could express what this meant to me. I am now a shut-in--no longer able to get out of the house and go any where. Back in the late 1980's, I worked on 2nd Avenue North. I lived in Nashville for 2 years, then moved just north of there. I became totally disabled in 2012 and soon after, gave up driving. I live with a daughter and her family, but they are very busy, so I stay out of the way. I have so wanted to go back to Nashville and just drive through to see all the changes: your video granted my wish. Thank you so very much!

I live in Nashville but I thoroughly enjoyed being able to drive around this city I love without actually having to leave my house. I knew most of the streets you were on but not all so I really appreciated the fact that you told the name of each street as you turned onto it. I also was glad to get a good look at the Gulch because that is one area of town that I have not had occasion to visit and so it was pretty much all new to me. I think I have driven through the Gulch a grand total of two times in all the years since it has been there and obviously, like all of Nashville, it is constantly changing because of all the new construction going on. I'm an old lady (when I was a kid, dinosaurs were still roaming the earth) and I am almost totally disabled and it is very difficult for me to get out of my house, so this video was extra special to me. Thank you so much for providing a relaxing way to spend an hour or so while staying snugly in my little house!

Video captures the growing problem in Nashville.. utilities should be buried.. allowing pedestrians to safely utilize sidewalks as intended, protect utilities from weather, completely transform visual appearance of neighborhood .. upgrade all lighting to LED for safety, savings, & security .. increase street drainage capacity & direct flow with proper curbing ..
