100 Subscribers... Wow! Thank you all so much for your support! I have enjoyed being in this community so much and love sharing these kind of videos with everyone!This shiny was one that I was honestly dreading for awhile... These egg hunts can be so brutal and long. I figured this would take me a couple of months at least just based on how long it takes to gather all of the eggs. Then I had to hatch em! Luckily while quad hunting and hatching two sets of games at a time, this didn't take me too long.
Finally "FLOYT"- I couldn't find any other Elekid shinies in the main series games HOWEVER there are a few exceptions:
1. Shiny Elekid can be hunted in XD via trade. There are a few of these on RUclips (and are AWESOME)
2. Shiny Hunter Josh found a bunch of Elekid's in his Pokemon Fuligin shiny hunts (Pokemon Fuligin is a cool ROM of FireRed).

Hey Everyone! I have learned a LOT since recording the intro to this video and wanted to clarify what I initially said could be a possibility: Egg shininess is determined once the old man steps forward. Not upon the hatch. You also do NOT need to worry about advancing frames for egg hunting.
Did you happen to learn for FRLG egg RNG? My current guess/understanding is half the id is determined when the daycare man generates and egg and the other half when you pick it up. I know for sure some data stays the same if you save before picking up the egg, like gender.
Massive respect to you for hatching that shiny Elekid. Full odds breeding in 3rd gen is immense

I love that it was at 963 eggs and the ID number has 963 in it!
Also not sure if you got your answer but:
Eggs information is set once you have it for sure, but trading it to a different game would send it through the algorithm again with the new trainers info, so it would alter shininess. Interestingly, it would appear shiny when it hatches but then be non-shiny afterwards. It’s essentially the opposite of how a manaphy hunt works
ShinyCollector haha oh wow I didn’t even realize that! And yup- it gave me such a scare when I hatched it in Ruby and saw it wasn’t shiny. Worried that I failed the shiny but thankfully it wasn’t true. Really cool to see the shiny mechanics in action- Thanks for the info!

On the topic of Egg shininess: I had bred a team of mons to play through Pokemon Ultra Sun back in 2018 or 2019, and as I was hatching a Bagon in Ultra Sun, I had been losing my patience with its 10k hatch steps. This caused me to send it back to the game it was bred in (og Sun), and I had ended up hatching it as a Shiny! It was a treat that I'll never forget.
This was very interesting to see. I’ve actually wondered about whether or not you could trade an egg with a shiny over to another game to hatch while retaining its shininess, and I’m glad your video cleared that up. Congrats on Elekid!!!
Congrats! I actually hunted 100% lv 35 repel trick Electabuzz in Fire Red. It was slow but worth it

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought the shiny looked insanely similar to its normal palette. Haha
I assumed it wouldn’t retain shinyness, just because there’s a whole subreddit dedicated to trading eggs that will be shiny for you.
However I wasn’t sure if that was a post gen3 thing haha.
At least it didn’t bug out and just not be shiny when you traded it back!

Honestly after watching Shiny Hunter Sandslash Hunt for Manaphy, I should have known better 😅 because that hunt literally relies on eggs not retaining shinies. But thanks again! I am always a fan of hunts in the emerald safari zone, but I get if you do Kanto because both safaris have very interesting Pokémon to find. Also congrats on your Elekid I love gen 3 egg hunts
Generic Name Thank you so much for your input!! I think what I’m going to do is split the time 50/50 between Kanto and the Johto extension of the safari zone. Mareep and Houndoor are dream shinies for me, just so scared to fail em! 😄 thanks again
I like Beta Elekid in the sprite section. Wish he were real. I used him when I played a Demo Hack of Spaceworld 97 demo. Ironically I caught a shiny Noctowl in that game which I won't be able to do anything with.
I think I misunderstood what you said in your latest video thinking you are going to breed an Elekid despite having done so.

I got a shiny munna when I was breeding synchronize Pokémon (I call them synchronizers) in gen 5. It was my first full odds shiny egg Pokémon. Back then I was still building teams by breeding for story mode for fun
I’ve never gotten a full odds shiny while hunting for one; I always get one when I don’t expect it

About the ESV, if you have questions like these again, you can just ask the rng abuse community about it. Egg shiny value and trainer shiny value has been known for years now.
Thanks for sharing! Can you explain a bit about how Emerald's broken rng plays into egg hatching for shinies? Did you have to keep your games running to not have frame issues? Thank you for any thoughts :)
So honestly it really doesn’t if you’re hunts are long enough. It’s incredibly difficult to hit the same exact frame if your hunts are long enough, I never worry about it for RE/egg hunts in emerald

Search “Pokémon leaf green authentic” on eBay. Don’t fall for the $15-20 options, those are bootlegs. It’s gonna be pricey ($45-60) but you get what you pay for
