hi, so once you pay for the ballistics app in the garmin synaps app, you have the exact same functionality in the amoled tactix 7 version as the pro ballistics version?
I bougt Tactix 7 pro month ago and no change in my mind. I have epix 2 and amoled is really nice. But i didnt expect id fall in love with the tacticx 7 transflective screen. The battery is insane and always on mode makes it look like normal clock. Amoled is nice, but i prefer transflective on tactix. This clock looks very rugged. Amoled makes it look less rugged and tactical imo.
It may look very rugged, but the DLC case will scratch every time you touch a hard surface (such as a barbell at the gym). Tactix 7 only looks like an indestructible competitor among watches. Unfortunately, the DLC coating is very weak like regular black paint. Well, you'll see for yourself. That's why I upgraded my Tactix 7 to the Instinct 2x Solar Tactical Edition.
@@Gabriel-tm8hn yeah my epix 2 is pretty scratched. I will try to keep my tactix out of enviroment where it can scratch. I mainly bought this watch because of how epic it looks

'I know what you're thinking - The words 'Tactical' and 'Bright' shouldn't be in the same sentence.' Exactly what I've been considering, and the reason I sought this video out, but without conclusive resolution. Of the two display versions, which one works best under frequent use of NODS in NV mode with the least amount of bloom and excess light spill? Thanks!
NVG mode in watches is a gimmick. In real life one actually takes the time to set the focus on their nvg to be able to read a watch. And with any nvg, being it mono, dual, or quad tubes, you're going to have a gap between your eye and the device where you can use your peripheral or move your eyes to side or down to see. So you'll just run your watch in night mode and glance down with naked eye to read it. The only important thing with nvg/night mode is turning off things like heart rate monitor that will show up under nvg and getting the brightness down to around 1nit so only someone standing right on top of you will see it.
@SolvingLivePoker-sh9pp With regard to NVG near / far focus, I've been really happy with reducing my aperture, setting focus to infinite, and being able to focus near and far, passive and actively seamlessly with no compromise in focus. I do run the gain slightly hotter to 'compensate' for the reduction in ambient light - but it works well enough that there's no going back.
@@davidmckechnie2640 This is why you almost never see any of us who use nvg for a living using an adjustable iris. You end up with your gain higher which washes out your peripheral naked eye vision. Which makes you far less situationally aware. There's no need for the irises, it's just a money grab. Set your objective lenses to infinity and lock in your infinity stop. The times you need to focus close that you won't be using an admin light are very rare as you're usually not going to be reading maps and such when there's a large chance for detection. Even then, you just adjust your objective lens the exact same way you would adjust an iris. When done, just run the objective lens back out to the infinity stop. Looking at a watch with nvg just isn't a thing. And you're going to use your admin light for most everything needing attention up close. Adjustable iris is just a cash grab from LARPers.
