    Devin, my first two births were all natural, no meds, no induction. Both boys were 9LB babies, and everything was normal. 8 years later, my surprise baby, a girl, 8LBS, I was induced with no epidural because my water broke at 37 weeks and my body did not want to go into labor. I only had two shots of Stadol to help me get through. I thought I was going to die, but the Stadol really helped! Labor was 26 hours, and being induced was MUCH more difficult than natural labor! Believe me! My third baby was definitely more difficult. Being induced is much more painful and difficult than natural labor. So you do you!

      yeah that is what i am always imagining because your body should know when ready... But I have been never pregnant so

      @Monica_Escobar 5 месяцев назад +5

      I agree! I was induced for 1 of my 5 pregnancies (baby #4) since I was at 42 weeks pregnant I allowed it, I was simply DONE. Biggest regret of my life, I was CONVINCED I was not going to live through that labor, absolutely insane, unbearable pain. Letting your body go into labor naturally is the way to go💪🏼 induction is pure torture🥴

    • @CL-xyz9987
      @CL-xyz9987 5 месяцев назад +6

      I had a great induction 🤷‍♀️ Loved every second of it and a very breezy recovery - like, didn't ever use the peri bottle, was immediately fine as soon as baby came out, no tears, no problems.
      Totally depends on the person. I think scaring people away from inductions is BS because my favourite birth was my induction

      @@CL-xyz9987 don’t think we’re trying to scare anyone away from inductions, just telling our experience as you are. Inductions, just as pregnancy and labor is different for every woman. Maybe it will go smooth for her or maybe she might have an experience like we did, it’s always good to know all possible outcomes💕

    I had no epidural the first time and I'm due TODAY with my second; and yes you can do it! But just remember we are made to do this in Christ alone. He's all you need. We can endure long, and suffer long. You can do it with His strength. My pastor said to say
    Don't say: God won't give me anything I can't handle...
    Say: He will give me things I CANT HANDLE, so I will be prone to run to Him who can! You can physically do it natural threw pain so don't let the world tell you can't. Just look into other things to help you relax for the physical and pray and surrender the spiritual/ mental part ❤

      Beautifully put and I wish I read this before having my daughter..it felt like i was being attacked throughout my whole pregnancy and delivery. When I mentioned to my doctor that I did not want an epidural and when he found out I didn't want to be induced him and the nurse kept calling me dr Google and eventually I gave into the pressure and both got the epidural and induced..

    I just had my first baby at 21 and I decided to go completely natural. I didn’t let them break my water or anything bc if I didn’t have to do a contraction without my water I don’t want to. We honestly couldn’t afford a doula so my whole pregnancy I educated myself to the best of my ability and trained my mind to know I can do what our bodies were designed to do. I had my baby in a hospital and I had to be a little pushy about not wanting any interventions. I have a great husband who was there to help enforce that but they also said I couldn’t film and we did in fact film bc they can’t really tell you you can’t. I labored for over 12 hours and I had been awake for almost 40 hours by the time I got to sleep and I’ve never in my life been so exhausted but I was so grateful for how smoothly I delivered. My water broke on its own and I started pushing not even 3 minutes later. He was out in maybe 5 pushed and I didn’t really feel a distinct “ring of fire” feeling. The whole thing of pushing him out was pretty painful but the best thing I could have ever done. I was up and walking within 30 minutes and using the bathroom was a million times better than I expected, I would say almost painless. I used a little ibuprofen for after birth contractions but besides that no medication. Just a little story for some encouragement. I loved hearing other women’s good birth stories.

    The best thing i kept doing during labor was my scriptures affirmations , telling myself that my body is working with me not against me, trust your body relax your body and allow the contractions to happen, and to take deep breaths. It was such a peaceful labor. I was inducted at 39 weeks , no epidural. Pushing was harder as you could imagine but it was so worth it! The pain made it so much better of when i was finally done and they said she was out.

  • @ButterflyElsy

    You are so right about the nurses making the experience!
    I was in labor with my first VBAC- just moments away from being ready to push.
    A wonderful nurse who came into the room early morning, she puts her hand on my leg and tells me “I said a prayer for you- were going to deliver this baby”
    I knew God was laying His hands on me through her and was telling me that we will have a successful VBAC (something I struggled with deciding to do for various reason, but believed I should do)
    That nurses name is MaryAnn, I had learned this after she asked what we were naming our girl which is Annika! She was tickled by the fact that they shared Ann in their name… even more cool… it was also MaryAnn’s birthday!
    I was very new to faith in Christ then and I consider one of the greatest ways He ever showed up in my life!!

    Crazy, my due date with my youngest was August 3 and i wound up getting induced at 36 weeks after a 9 day stay in the hospital and an amniocentesis to make sure her lungs were fully developed, all due to unexplained bleeding that occurred the night of the Fourth of July but only that night it was weird anyway she was born 5 lbs. 13 oz. on July 14. She is now 17 years old just graduated high school and never had any major health concerns her whole life. Thank God! congratulations and good luck to you and baby. Wishing y’all the best.

    Just some encouragement that you can do it! First I had an epidural and everything they would give me, then next two in the hospital with nothing, my 4th was at home with a midwife, and I’m pregnant with my 5th. Planning another home birth. In my experience once you feel like you can’t handle the pain anymore you will be holding your baby soon.

    I was induced with pitocin and having my water broke at 38 weeks due to gd. This was my 3rd baby, first natural labor and delivery, I was nervous if I would be “able” to, and I am now a full believer that if you want to go without pain medicine you can do it! Anyone can do it, I highly recommend hypnobirthing but start practicing listening and meditating as soon as possible if you want to do that! But you can do this, you were made to do this and it is the most empowering thing I’ve ever done! AND from my perspective is the pain didn’t get worse but the pressure did!! Also, by the time I was crowning and would feel the ring of fire, that was the least of my concerns, like my brain didn’t register what my body was doing and it was like after you cross a line, it doesn’t get worse than that. Of course that’s just my experience but don’t be fearful, if that’s what you want for your birth plan you will do amazing!!

  • @kristinbingham8093
    @kristinbingham8093 5 месяцев назад +4

    Awesome!
    Wanted to let you know i was able to go without an epidural for both of my boys birth. But due to my blood pressure needed to be “induced” both times. I had pitocin the first time to start my labor. The second time: My midwife said because it was my second child they might be able to kick start my labor by having me use a breast pump and walk. It worked and defiantly was a less painful labor without pit. Just thought i’d pass it along in case you could talk to your provider about that as an option. You got this, Mama!

    I’ve had three kids and 100% do NOT agree that “once you get to 6cm it doesn’t get worse.” With my last baby I was literally 8-9cm before I was in active labor. And with my first two, it 100% got worse after 6cm.
    P.s. I don’t say any of this to worry you. Just want you to have a heads up that what you were told wasn’t super accurate.

    I'm "due" August 1st, however knowing I have BP issues the doctors are wanting to induce around 38 weeks....with my first birth I waited until 38 weeks and 6 days because I wasn't ready and my baby wasn't. I started having contractions the day I let them induce. With this one I'm definitely gonna wait as long as I can but I delayed pitocin for 18 hours in my first, and I'm definitely more open to starting it sooner.
    Having a doula is AMAZING! No matter what happens its your story and its the one God planned. It's so freeing knowing that no matter what it's the Lord's will that prevails.

    I had a bad experience with the epidural my first time as well, for my second I did it without the medication. I am now expecting my third and am planning to go without the epidural again. Its really all a head game, you have to stay in the right frame of mind and not think about how long everything is going to take, but only think about the contractions one at a time. I found that really helped a lot, and just focusing on my breathing and thinking about how God made our bodies to be able to handle this and go through this and just not doubting my ability for a second. You've got this girl ❤

    Ive had both my kids completely natural and it was a beautiful experience both times! I highly recommend Hypnobirthing, I used the CD's to practice. Also Chiropractors produce 'butter births'. :) I went to the chiropractor
    twice a week at the end to align my body and to get baby into an ideal position. If you can get in the shower or bath warm water helps tremendously. Remembering that our bodies are made to do this and think of the birth waves (contractions) as pressure, not pain is key!! You are going to do great, and know that whatever happens, its your special birth story and whatever ends up being was meant to be and is a beautiful and be proud of it!! 💙💕

    I went with epidurals for my first 2 kids and then without it with my 3rd. I felt like the pain was the worst at transition, so around 8cm. That’s when I thought I couldn’t do it. It was a total of 11 hours in labor. But I do think my postpartum was better. I had gestational diabetes with my 3rd as well. Look into gentle birth! I definitely think that helped my labor to go better and faster.

    I gave birth to my first child with no epidural. I was very, very young and didn't even really know what I was doing. Fast forward 9 years and I'm having my 2nd child. I absolutely took that epidural. Lol It did completely numb me up but they actually punctuated through the space in my back when giving it to me & I was leaking spinal fluid and had the worst headaches I'd ever had in my life! They got me all fixed up though once we realized what was going on. 2 years later, I was pregnant with #3 and got that epidural. I was a little nervous because of my issues with my 2nd baby but girl it went great!
    #1. I labored 12 hours (boy)
    #2. Induced & labored only 4 hours. (boy)
    #3. I labored 12 hours

    Hear me out.. WATER BIRTH! If you go natural, that is the way to go. The water believe it or not helps with tearing and the pain. My babe was almost 9 pounds. However, being induced does cause more pain

    We planned "natural childbirth" for our baby's birth. Lamaze childbirth classes. Great experience! Heard so many scary stories about epidurals(including my own Mom, with my one of my older brothers). We would have had natural again of we had had a second, but never did, in the midst of planning, bought our son a baby doll and everything, my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hotchkins Lymphoma. He passed away a year and five days later at 43 yrs young when our son was 4 yrs old. This year will be 26 years since my soulmate, the love of my life passed away. His Chiropractor never referred him for tests, etc. just interested in getting their money, talking to him about buying a pillow. Folks if you have constant pain, do not listen to a chiropractor, seek real medical help!

    My first birth ended in Csection, labored for 24 hours and HATED the epidural. My second birth - i did it 100% unmedicated and it was so empowering! Like you said, it’s not really about the pain, it’s the exhaustion. It was around 3:00 AM when I was pushing and I had been in labor at home for most of that day, so girl, I was TIRED 😅 I remember everybody trying to be so encouraging but I was so tired that I literally laid my head on the bar in front of me and said “I just need to take a nap real quick” I look back and just laugh. Because immediately after she was born, I was WIDE AWAKE and couldn’t sleep 😂

    I had my august 3 due date baby on July 31! Did you get induced last time? I’ve heard the contractions are worse with pitocin but have had friends still do it without the epidural

    My first child came naturally at 36 weeks. He was Itty bitty 5 lb baby. I was able to withstand contractions until about a 6 and then I got an epi.
    With my second, she was a hardheaded Lil girl and didn't want to come so I was Induced with petocin and GURRRRRL, because petocin is FORCING you to be in labor, the pain threshold is NOT the same. I could only stand it till 3 cm and I was like, nerp. Give me the drugs.
    So, but, like.. good luck to ya. Lol whatever choice you make is the right choice as long as you're comfortable with it. Praying it all goes safely and quickly for you!

    I was induced for 2 out of my 3 babies, 3rd was emergency c-section at 32 weeks. First induced at 37 weeks, 4hr labour with no epidural, only gas & air and a pethidine shot. He was 4lb 10oz. 2nd induced at 36 weeks, 40 min labour with no epidural, just gas & air, had the pethidine shot too late so was woozy after she was born 😂 She was 4lb 5oz. I have nothing to compare an induced labour to but although intense I didn’t find it unbearable. Try to stay calm and I’m sure you’ll be fine ❤ xx

      Side note… oldest daughter is type 1 diabetic, has been since age 11. She is 28 now and had her first baby last year. She found pregnancy so hard because of the diabetes that she doesn’t think she will do it again. Her baby girl was born at exactly 37 weeks with planned c-section due to daughter only being 4ft 10, they thought labour would be too risky given she already had complications. Thankfully all went well and her diabetes is now finally stable again xx

    My epidural didn’t work with my first, I chose to have an epidural with my second and had my 3rd and 4th all natural! I always felt that was was scared into getting the epidural but all natural birth was what I wanted and what I loved. So you do what you want to the best of your ability!

    My labor started with my water breaking which is apparently pretty uncommon. By the time I got to the hospital they insisted I start pitocin since they don’t want you to labor too long with your water broken. The pitocin contractions were unreal. After 20 hours of labor I got an epidural. At the end of the day I had a positive experience with a healthy baby and I’m so happy I had a vaginal delivery. I do hope if I have another baby I can go unmedicated, but if labor starts with my water breaking again who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

    It's funny the reaction men have to the question "are you looking forward to the birth" after the first. I was really looking forward to giving birth for the second time. Even though the first time wasn't very smooth and lasted 3 days. I couldn't wait to dobit again. My partner however, thought I was insane. He did not enjoy the birth at all 😂 however the second (a home birth) cured all trauma he had from the first time. 😂😂 he still refused to cut the cord and doesn't understand why anyone would want to. ❤

    I can't remember how much I was dialated when I received the epidural, but as soon as they laid me back after giving it to me, I was like "I need to push" and she was out 30 mins later. I was glad for the epidural though, because I got a 2nd degree tear and I would've felt them sowing me up and they used 3 sew packs on me, sooo thank God for epidural LOL

    I had an unmedicated birth center birth with our first and it was amazing. Almost didn't make it in time because I thought it was supposed to be harder than it was. Highly recommend the podcast pregnancy and birth made easy and the book Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth. I'm 34 weeks with our second and planning the same.

    I was all natural with both my kids and they were both 8 plus pounds, if they will let you have a water birth then that helps so so much you won’t have the ring of fire the water helps with the pain as well.

    I had my 3rd baby with no epidural and what I noticed was that when you have no epidural you can almost feel where the baby is which makes you know when to push and how to stand/lay/squat to get the baby out. I was half on the bed and half off the bed and that's how she came out haha! I did not feel a ring of fire- her head came out and I thought... "oh that was easy!" THEN out came those boney shoulders and knees and feet! And FAST! I remember screaming "OW!" when all of those little baby bones hit every vaginal wall on their way out LOL! I almost perferred pushing out the round head over all those boney limbs. It was worth the pain though. It is amazing what our bodies can do. I'm excited to hear your experience!!! To God be the glory that so many women are doing this now!!! My daughter was almost 9 pounds and it was still an amazing experience. When I have more babies I would 100% do it natural again!!!
