You da man Nick! First congrats on hitting that tri. Second THAT SUCKS! Hate that for you man. Just remind yourself that you handicapped it right and over time you win your fair share of scores like that! Just like any other skill., the more you do it and are successful at it, the more confidence you will have in your ability to pick and bet horses! congrats!

Thank you so much for doing a review video, I always like to watch the race over and think about what happened. I ended up doing ok since I had Medina Spirit and Mandaloun across the board, but I lost on Rock Your World and felt so bad for him.
Nice picks Kelly! You are welcome! I like watching the races over as well and trying to spot things that might have impacted the outcome of the race. I can see why there are people out there that want to scale back the number of horses in the Derby. Instead of 20 only have 12 or 14. It would reduce a lot of those traffic issues that Rock Your World faced I think.

I got lucky; I had the 8/7 exacta for $1.00. I had 8-7-1-14. The 9 beat me out. But it was so exciting. You can never count Bob Barfet out.
That is exactly right especially on a big race like that. His horse ran great! I am glad you hit the exacta!
I had 8,9,14, 1 for my superfecta. Right 3 horses, right order. 7 messed it up, and 1 came in 9th. Pretty exciting for a rookie Handicapper like me. Just bought your superfecta book, diging in deep. Love your videos, keep it up.

I had super 4x plus exacta n yrs 2x was a hell of a day loved mandoulin progression thru out ryw n it paides off for 55k joel rosario cost ryw never had a chance but still a quality horse might see belmont day so but the weekend handicapper offered a good play with mandoulin just like he did with helium so wtg sir. U rock as always.

My sister & I both had medina's spirit at number 5 in our top 5. When we started talking about pace upfront I said regardless of pace if baffert's horse is on or right behind the lead going into turn 1& 2 is that worth betting on? Glad we both agreed. Now it's because of you & matt bernier that made me take a better look at mandaloun and put him underneath in the exacta. So thank you from the both of us. It was a great race.

I kept coming back to Medina Spirt...and only had a few dollars on him, but I was looking for the 1 hole to be better for Agenda, lost all exotics...the back of my mind was is Baffert going to do this again with the same kind of move? And sure enough as it was unfolding I was slapping myself...as you said we only have to look at our past performances and we build the scenarios we think from the data...hind site is 20/ 20... I woulda I shoulda...I do it, we all do it, past posting is easy for me lol...I like how you are always upbeat, never sour grapes! See you for The Preakness, looking forward to your thoughts!
Hindsight is something else for sure. No sooner than Medina Spirit crossed the finish line I was saying to myself. I should have just bet Bob Baffert and an early speed horse again. LOL. I appreciate the kind words. Yes onto the Preakness. It should be interesting! I am glad you had at least something on Medina Spirit.

Essential Quality Seemed to hang once he got within striking range of the leaders but he did have another burst of energy approaching the wire but it was too late...He also had to Swing Wide into stretch...He ran VERY Well...Top 3 finishers were not wavering in stretch and they fought hard to the wire...But Moving forward i would Still take Essential Quality over Top 3 Derby finishers if they meet again...
I am inclined to agree with you Jack. No and ideal start for EQ and then wide pretty much the entire. I hope he stays healthy so we can see what else he has got!

No I didn't think 8 would win. I thought he would face some early pace pressure and other horses would pass him in the stretch. I was "almost" right. But almost doesn't cut it in horse racing. 7 and 9 had all the chances in the world to pace the 8. Yes it was a good race for sure!
Medina Spirit paid me on my win ticket but Highly Motivated and Rock your world killed my exotics. My wife put her money on Soup and Sandwich and she was all excited at first but her and the horse both deflated by about the 6th furlong. I told her I think he got a flat tire! 😂
That is so wild! My girlfriend also picked Soup and Sandwich because she likes gray horses and she liked the name of the horse. She was torn between Soup and Sandwich and as she called it "the pretty 8 horse". She decided to bet on the 19 Soup and Sandwich because she doesn't like Bob Baffert. OUCH!!!
Yes he got a flat a tire or something. All of a sudden that horse was done and dead last! Good you had a little something on Medina Spirit.

Was a great race! Had a nice win bet on 8 and hit an exacta that I keyed around the 7 and 8. I also thought midnight bourbon would have placed better.

Thanks for the post race analysis, I learned something again. I was most surprised by the lackluster performance of Known Agenda. Soup and Sandwich looked like he was shot of a cannon at first, then biggest meltdown I can recall. Did he get injured?
That horse was all of sudden done and finished last. Like it hit a wall!
You are welcome Petro! That's what we thought at first too. S&S was up there near the lead and first and then was just done. That happens a lot with early spped horses. They can't sustain that pace for too long so they either win or hold on for 2nd or they finish at the back of the pack.
What’s up brother. I woke up and didn’t want to get out of bed... I’m still MADDDD about yesterday lol ive seen the race about 4xs and now Imma go back and look at the gate. Great points about how they break. I’m just glad Rock Your World didn’t ruin it lol I’m looking forward to the Preakness. I wonder if Concert Tour is going to comeback afterall. Well at least you were able to sleep. I might not have been able to go to sleep! haha. I am already looking forward to the Preakness as well. The cool thing about the Preakness is you have horses that are fresh and didn't run in the derby taking on horses that did race in the Derby. It is probably my favorite of all the Triple Crown races. Probably because I have done the best in the Preakness compared to the other 2.

I used keepinmind in my exactas and trifecta, I thought a hot pace would help some late runners but didn’t happen. I netted a $60 loss with my smallest combination $2 exacta 8-7 saving me from big loss.
keepmeinmind ran well! Keep an eye out for that horse in the future especially if it gets a hot pace up front. Should close in with the best of them. I wil be ready to bet him in the right pace scenario! I am glad you have a saver bet. That was smart.
Love watching your videos. Here is my story. From the first when I saw list of entries, MEDINA SPIRIT just set off bells in my head and gut. None of the research I did put me off him and I gritted my teeth and put 50$ on the nose. I liked Mandaloun as well as it never made sense that his stock should nosedive over one bad race. Because of your videos, I did an Exacta wheel with 7,8 over 7,8 and three other guys and collected on that as well. If Hot Rod Charlie hadn't kept Essential Quality out of third I would have had the Trifecta as well. Thank you very much for your ideas on boxing and wheeling...I will be doing a lot more of that. PS I did do a tri and superperfecta box of 7-8-14-15.....ah, what might have been!
That is great to hear! I am glad some of the videos helped you out. You were close on that super as well. I am surprised Essential Quality didn't get up for 3rd. You would have had that tri too! I was surprised that many people dismissed him so easily after one race. Before that he did nothing wrong and was impressive. @@Weekendhandicapper you're welcome. look forward to your analysis of Preakness. Not sure I can bet Medina in that one because (1) anticipate odds will be much lower and (2) now that other jocks and trainers know what he can do, I imagine that they will run different races.
I know RYW will Bounce, and EQ will not win because He Prep.in a G2 Stakes...KD Winners came from G1,and mile and 8...
Congrats to anyone who got a piece of this Derby. My Alpha-Omega play didn't come through: 1-20, 20-1. The Todd Pletcher angle. About the best you could say for them is 'passed tired horses'...
I need to try that play sometime!

I appreciate it but it didn't happen this year. I needed the 14 to win and 8 to be in 3rd or 4th and Hot Rod Charlie to finish out of the top 4. Such a tough bet to hit!
I'm starting to miss the earnings days of stretch out sprinters. Kinda sick of these moderate/slow fractions. Your boy EQ took a helluva block from RYW at the gate.
Yeah the start was ugly and he ran a lot father around the track than I would have like to have seen. I still thought he ran a good race despite all of that. I thought for sure the 7 was going to pass the 8 in the stretch. I was ready to book my flight to the Bahamas!!! 8 said not so fast Weekend!

I know church hill is happy that they didn't have to pay mattress matt 2million back .my horse hot rod Charlie came up short . I don't understand why theses connection keep letting baffert go wire too wire nobody wants to compete for the lead
You are probably right. I agree I couldn't believe the exact thing happened 2 years in a row. I thought the jocks would have known to put more pressure on the 8. But I guess they thought it would take their horse out of their game plan.
I used Medina Spirit underneath quite a bit in exotic bets, but not on top, unfortunately. RYW lost all chances 20' out of the gate, and other pace horse's didn't go, the one's that did, Soup and Sandwich, I think needs turned back shorter. RYW beat Medina Spirit at SA, MS beat Hot Rod earlier. But Baffert/Johnny V./ MS again prove go early or go home hot and dirty. O Besos ( 5'th), Midnight Bourbon ( 6'th) also made up ground late, just not enough, and may have just been passing tired horse's.
What went wrong is I lost money foster race with the dead heat screwed me all over the place had 2 pick 3 price had double going in the 12 and 13 and mist had a good time anyway life is good there will be another race hope other made money
That is a good way to look at it. You are right. That dead heat was crazy. And then that one race with a $400,000 superfecta!!! Unreal!
Great race but I was all over known agenda , and I had most of my exotics built around him. 🤣 Irad can normally find the holes but not yesterday . Overall i really enjoyed it ... Great to see that many people there
Yes those were some positives to take away from the race. I agree once the 1 broke ok I was surprised it didn't end up finishing better than it did. I glad you enjoyed it. I have to say it was one of the more enjoyable Derby's I can remember even though my picks didn't work out in the Derby. The weather was beautiful!
I bet $1400 on RYW $200 to WIN 🏆 $400 to PLACE & $800 to SHOW hahaha LOL 😆 sucks he got slam really bad 👎 that's crazy but I usually use this strategy on horses 🐎 that have a good chance to WIN 🏆 but at least get on the board and if you get SHOW at least you get all your Monay back and a little profit 📈 but if you WIN 🏆 all places you can make Big $ or loose everything like in this race 🏁 part of the game 🎮 you need to love the game at the end of the day is all about taking a chance and enjoying the moment blessings to you brother great content 🔥🐎 Cheers 🍻

Same here and felt confident that he would be a factor but didn't think he would get an easy lead like that and not other horse would pressure him early.

WORSE RACE BY A JOCKEY EVER _____________JR on RYW--sure RWW stumbled at the start and then got bumped ( and JR almost fell off ) but he recovered and was steadily progressing on the outside when it seemed like JR slowed him a bit and then got him bumped again--TERRIBLE RIDE and JR just quit !
15 had a horrible start that's for sure. I hate seeing horses never getting a shot at running their race in the Derby.

I was dissappointed in that horse. Really no major excuses.
